Price Comparisons.
π£οΈ DISCUSSION π¬
Ok this is my first post, been following for over a year and have learned so much. You anons are amazing and im proud to stand beside you. Im a Boomer born in 1960 and a Patriot I do what I can in my small world Im a delivery driver and have been for 30 plus years. In the last few years i pushed to organize a union and won. Now im pushing to red pill some coworkers in this upcoming election. what im looking for is a compairison of gas, food, energy prices from 2017 to 2024. If anyone has a good graph I would love to share it with my coworkers. sorry for any typos.

That's the official government story -- the figures published by the Bureau of Labor Statitistics -- so you know it's COMPLETELY ACCURATE (wink-wink).
Despite the tricks used to make inflation look less horrifying that it actually is, you can clearly see how prices are going up.
The chart is indexed to prices in 1914, the year the FED took effect. The Price Index for January of that year is set to 10.0.
In Jan 2017 the index stood at 242.839
In Jan 2024 the index was 308.417
Imagine what the REAL numbers would be if the CPI hadn't been corrupted by jiggering the way the index is calculated.
The FED is nothing but a massive counterfeiting operation for the Cabal, and has drained TRILLIONS of dollars in wealth from the American people who CREATED that wealth. Guess who all that money has been benefiting -- it sure ain't most of the American people, that's for sure. Every new "dollar" created from thin air lowers the value of the dollars we earn, save, or spend.
EDIT: for context, consider that up until 1933, when Franklin "Internment camp" Roosevelt seized American citizen's gold -- making it ILLEGAL for Americans to have more than $100 worth (until after Nixon took us completely off the gold standard in 1971), each dollar was worth 1/20 of an ounce of gold (I'm ignoring the seignorage, which means an American Liberty Head $20 gold coin actually contains .96750 troy oz).
Until then, any American could walk into a bank, or a hardware store for that matter, if the store could handle such a large amount -- slap a $20 bill on the counter and exchange it for an American one-ounce $20 gold coin.
Today, Kitco shows the dollar price of gold as just over $2,000.
$308.417 is 30.8417 times as much as $10.0, which is to say that the "official" CPI is almost 31 times higher than the price index from 1914.
That would make $20 worth of gold NOW worth $616.83.
Gold is ACTUALLY selling for ~ $2100, or (2100 / 616 =) 3.4 times as much as the government's CPI suggests it should be. The CPI is underreporting the rate of inflation by a substantial margin. Instead of 308, today's CPI should be roughly 1050, using the dollar price of gold as a benchmark.
epic answer.

SS gave us 3.4 % inflation raise this year. Fuckers !
This bears out in the housing market too with the cost of homes especially since the 70s. See this chart to shows about 1970 a home cost about the same or even less, than the average annual salary. Then see how it rises rapidly since then. I know the claim property price increased, my point is however, this is the why of the increase, just as gold increases
Im not quite sure how this works. Not sure if its the mods or the upvotes is what moved this post from New to Hot. However I'm gratefull for everone that has responded to this post. I am just a simple man trying to spread the message Trump is the only way forward. It's not been easy alot of my union brothers are still Biden.. and I dont understand I will continue to throw red pills, but I need 50 cal. ammo. If you have it send it.
We welcome all patriots. God bless you and God bless America. πΊπ²ππ
If a mod sees a post that's worthy of a sticky they will do so, that means the post is sent right to the top. Otherwise it rises based on upvotes. Users can also request that a post be stickied by Reporting ("Deporting") it, choosing Custom Reason, and then typing "sticky nomination" or something to that effect. Be aware not to abuse the system though! Mods have a lot of reports to go through daily, make it count!
Remind them that Biden is letting in hundreds of thousands of military age males including trained Chinese military that is going to be coming after them and their families when the shit goes down.
Maybe its changed throughout the years. But I was raised on hard work and respect. Was Demoncrat for many years till Trump entered the game. Yes im sick of the DEI and wokeness i have to deal with in this workplace. And im proud of standing up and bringing my brothers together to win a union contract against a national distributor. Just cause I'm union doesnt mean im a demon.
And thisn is how GAW wins. Its getting the blue collar workers like myself to spread the word red pill all i can. We have no other choice. NCSWC!
I am surprised that we have union members here. Especially conservative union members. You are truly a unicorn.
Most the union workers I know are Trump supporters. It's their leadership that is not. Union leadership get paid sucking money from dues paid by the membership for "protection" on their employment, much like congress. They live the high life while us slaves pay the bills.
Union workers are blue collar and the Dems abandoned them 30 years ago. So that isn't surprising.
Definite fact.
I was in one. No choice. Body was red, the top was blue.
Iβm a union worker in Hollyweird, making six figures for over 25 years. My union is completely controlled by looney leftist but the majority of my counterparts voted for Trump. Donβt let the MSM narrative mislead you into thinking that all union workers are commies because that couldnβt be further from the truth.
Not as unicorn as you might think. A lot of it really comes.down to the industry the union represents. It does get kind of out of balance because of all the government workers in unions, in my experience.
As a strong conservative who is also in the delivery industry. I have always been anti-union, until recently.
Before I would say if you donβt like the environment then go somewhere else, but now there is such a small pool of workers actually willing to work that ALL companies in my industry will abuse and over work you, so it has come to where unfortunately union is necessary. I donβt have another skill set that can provide for my family, so I have to work in this field until/unless I can find something that pays well that I can do. But right now it is my CDL that pays my bills
Itβs really been since COVID that the change has occurred
Price comparision only gives you partial picture. You have to also compare the erosion of value from all goods and services.
Why is it that we can have good solid built household stuff? Why glass, stainless steel etc is being replaced by plastics?
Why cant we buy any well built artisanal products anymore (or is extremely expensive)? Why do we get only cheap mass produced goods?
Its important to inspect every aspect of our lives and identify the erosion in value.
All this is part of the "hidden inflation from fiat printing of money" - the real Great Steal.
I agree if you don't have a community you can trade and barter with you are lost when SHTF. Their are few of us left that are true craftsman. that dissapered when schools stopped providing wood, metal, drafting classes. I grew up on a ranch I can fix shit.
Keep them skill honed and hopefully you have also taught some of it to your younger generations, because after the Precipice and we find true freedom in the world, you guys will be Gold. No more cheap chinese crap, no more cheap plastics. People can earn a honest living, and use it to afford artisanal products from true craftsmen.
I only have my daughter that i raised as a single father since she was 12. she is abousulety gorgeous and the pride of my life. She can turn a wrench, weld a bead ,as well as anyone she grew up with me in the shop working on racecars. And soon to bring me my secound Grandaughter. Her husband UC Davis aga boy Football player.. couldnt be prouder for the two of them.
You must be a proud father! Congrats on your second grand-daughter :)
Excellent point and post Patriot! Welcome and well done! ππ
Preferably the same chain, same/similar location.
i like your idea.. will dig.
I pay $5 for the same loaf of bread I used to pay -$2.50 for, just 5 years ago. And it was already too high at $2.50.

Here's a Food Cost Survey that the Alaska Cooperative Extension Service did in 2012: https://www.uaf.edu/ces/files/fcs/2012q4data.pdf They used to do these every year, and I miss them! Compare them to today's prices and you'll have the comparison you're looking for, I think. Since they're Alaska prices though, they're higher than other states. Maybe other states have done a Food Cost Survey?
Thank you. gerat reference. I lived in Anchorage for a couple of years in my younger days and worked at Carrs Grocery
Why'd you leave? We all feel like we're sitting in the bleachers watching the rest of the world going to hell in a handbag up here. Oh, and making fun of the lefties who come up here thinking they're going to change all our ignorant ways.
back in the day go party with a fisherman coming off a king crab season. your life will never be the same. love Kodiac
had some friends fishing out of Kodiac was trying to get on a boat back in the day. kinda glad i didnt now thinking back on it. not an easy job.
$10 for a restaurant style burger? where? why so cheap? kek
Come to Texas and eat at Whataburger!
burgers here in napa valley starting at $22 life is good.
Also donβt forget about Shrinkflation. Not only does the price increase, but the amount of product decreases.
For example, a bag of chips goes from 12oz to 9oz, while increasing in price from $2.99 to $4.59.
I just bought a stick of deodorant. I don't use it much so it's been a while. It was $8! I remember it being maybe $3.
Supplements have gone way up, too.
I bet suppositories went down given the crap we are fed - however they still always go up. Way up.
π
Great idea! Donβt forget rent and housing prices.
Gas prices: https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/pet_pri_gnd_dcus_nus_a.htm
I have a photo of steak in my grocery cart in January 2020 for $2.99/lb. I might be willing to post it. That same steak now comes on sale like twice a year for $4.99/lb.
You can find commercials from your local area on YouTube. There are sometimes commercials from grocery stores that state the sale prices on items for that week. So you can see a commercial from 1986 and see what a dozen eggs or a six-pack of soda cost. You need to be vigilant in terms of price per ounce, or compare items that are the same. Like a dozen large eggs will always be the same, or a gallon of milk or a pack of 12 oz. soda cans. But a box of crackers or cereal will vary by weight, becoming smaller over time while maintaining the same price.
Big Mac price! I just searched Google images for a graph and there was mysteriously none showing a simple price/year average! Probably because it looks really alarming
I thought you might be my dad for a minute. π
This is what works for me. Minimum wage (federal and my state) was $7.25/hour 10 years ago back in 2014. Technically federal still is. Anyways, my state raised minimum wage to $12.30/hour this year. So about a 70% increase in minimum wage. Are anyone's wages increasing by this much? Everyone is getting closer and closer to minimum wage.
Organized a union? Hope you are over it
The real numbers. The government, as you may suspect has changed the way it calculates CPI to make it look better.
https://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/inflation-charts
And don't forget, Biden swung the gas prices lower by selling off our entire strategic petroleum reserve, and the FED, and CBO will lie their asses off to hide the disastrous numbers for Biden.
Plus Biden is spending 1 growing deficit one trillion ever 100 days just to keep people happy.
Try finding the truth doing Internet search is useless. AI is controlling what you can see. Notice every site returned on search is same leftist sites. But if you force the search to look at only certain sites, you will get a different picture.

Thank you for the shadow stats link, they have been fighting the 'low inflation myth' for as long as I can remember it being an issue.
