I couldn't disagree more. How can you say Jesus is the king, and also say the Bible is a corrupt document of control? You are attacking the very source that says that Jesus is king? If you accept some as truth and not all of it are you not diminishing its whole purpose? You then are relying not on God's Judgement but your own to discern what truth is.
Our hearts and minds can be a very dangerous thing. Wisdom apart from God is nothing; and the Bible is the only source of truth.
Proverbs 3:5
Proverbs 28:26
Jeremiah 48:7
No harm to you brother just sharing what the Bible says. Don't take my word for it because my opinion is useless, but read it and you will see. I will pray you do
Not sure I understand your comment. I am staying the Bible is the only source of truth. You either accept it all as truth, or none of it at all. I think the great danger is people picking and choosing what to follow from the Bible and creating their own truths. Why do you feel the Bible is corrupt? It is historically accurate; there are so many pieces done on this. It is the infallible Word of God.
Of course Jesus is king, but it does matter how we live our lives. Even the demon know who Jesus is. It's not enough just to acknowledge him; who are we to pick and choose what God as defined as truth. Do we know better than him (Job covers this well). We must repent of our sins and do our best to walk in his statures. Not works based of course; it doesn't matter how much I tithe, go to church etc. But its about fighting the good fight and repenting for our sins as we can never achieve perfection.
As my name states, there will be a day where every tongue confesses Jesus Christ is Lord. I just pray I hear well done faithful slave, not depart from me you who practice lawlessness. It is our commission to share this good news with others. Many will reject it, but what joy comes from the few who accept it and our saved. We can not fear the rejection of the world; after all its not up to us who accept it. Only good can soften the hearts of the unbelieving and resurrect the dead man back to life. We are all dead in our trespasses and Jesus Christ is the only way. He is the light the truth and the way; but part of this acceptance is living our lives for Him and not putting ourselves ahead of God.
There is only one source of truth, and that is God. The most perfect expression of that truth is the true man. Which is what Jesus is.
The Bible is a textbook. It is divinely inspired, but it is a text book teaching the truth, pointing towards God and Christ.
There are many scriptures in the world, many inspired by God to elevate and lift up those who engage with those scriptures. Ultimately, the purpose of scripture is to lead people to Christ.
The bible is not perfect; it is God-inspired, but there are many questions it does not answer. In my view, the primary purpose of the New Testament is to guide people to prepare for the Second Coming. Once the Second Coming arrives, we will most certainly receive an upgrade that elevates our understanding of 'truth', in the same way that Jesus taught things that elevated the Israelites' understanding of truth.
God gave them the OT word - the Law - to prepare them to receive the Messiah. He came, and shared newer, more profound and core elements of truth. Sadly, as a whole, they could not receive it and those that could not put 'new wine' into new wine skins ended up rejecting Jesus.
I think we will agree on many core points, but perhaps our view of the Bible is slightly different. Over-attachment to an external expression of truth - scripture - is what lead the Jews to fail to recognize Jesus, who as the actual embodiment of Truth, stood right on front of them. We would be wise to learn the lesson!
I appreciate the feedback; and I think that perhaps my comments came off as legalism, that was not my intention. I agree we share many core points. Yes the OT was set up to prove that mankind could never live up to the law; therefore God sent his son as a savior in Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus Christ that we are saved. No works save us, but it is His grace alone.
Your example of over attachment would be the Pharisees and Sadducees; I think we can link many religious sects today to the same error over overemphasizing scripture and losing the core meaning which is to put God first above all. There core focus was not on God, but of themselves, they used scripture to promote righteousness among themselves. We give up our lives for Him; just like Jesus gave up his life for us.
But you are spot on, the error many make is they develop righteousness and pride (I go to church more, I know more scripture, I serve here etc). We are all horrible retched sinners in need of a savior and that savior was Jesus Christ.
However as Romans points out that does not mean we can go on living as we please; this is what I was trying to emphasize. Those of us that know Him have that endless yearning to know more and build that relationship with Him. Getting into his Word, prayer are ways to do that.
But I do think there is a danger in stating as long as you know and acknowledge Jesus you are good (not stating that's what you are implying). The sanctification process corrects us and shapes us in the image of Him; part of that process I do believe means getting into His word and building that relationship. Hope that was clearer (and much more we could get into) but appreciate the polite discourse brother.
That is where faith comes in. You have to believe that the Bible was not written by man but is divinely inspired. In other words, while men scribed it, God used them as vessels simply to record. There is a much longer and deeper argument to defend why the Bible is unique to other texts.
But again, you either believe or you don't. Not surprised I got a ton of down-votes. The world will reject this message; but that doesn't diminish in any way our commission to spread the good news to others so they may be saved. 1st Gal 1:10. In the end, we can't be concerned about what others may think about us; but continue to fight the good fight and spread the news.
Again, I 100% believe with my heart that the Bible is the only source of truth as scripture is God breathed truth; whether people choose to accept or deny this is between themselves and the Lord.
If this is the truth :), it's not clear how this fact could be known.
There can be, and often are, multiple true things simultaneously that don't agree with each other. Take for example the four gospels. We now use the word gospel to mean "truth"; yet the four accounts of the same events vary significantly from one another, to such an extent that Thomas Jefferson was moved to burn the midnight oil cutting the New Testament apart with a razor blade, removing redundancies, inconsistencies and contradictions, and assembling them into one cohesive whole, called the Jefferson Bible. (He saw fit to excise the entire Old Testament as irrelevant in light of the coming of Jesus.)
Were Matthew, Mark, Luke and John not each one telling the truth, his truth, the way he saw it? How can it be known which one was closer to the actual Truth?
Regardless, this weird woman onstage prattling on as though NO truth really matters as much as "getting things done"—presumably, things that rely on lying—is a perfect CEO for NPR, a bastion of falsehood. She just stood there and set the stage for continuing the legacy of lies.
For that matter, how do we know who wrote the Gospels? The writer's names were not written on the top in the originals. It was because of tradition that we accept they were written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Nobody knows who wrote Hebrews. Hebrews never claims to be breathed from God.
It is only by accepting someone OUTSIDE the Bible that one can come to the conclusion those 27 books are God's words.
The Bible didn't fall out of the sky.
As a christian whose faith is very important to me I find it difficult to describe her as a twatt, but I feel that for her doing what she's doing, and doing it shamelessly - this is the best way that with my limited vocabulary I can describe her. Sorry if this violates some sort of protocol, but there it is.
►Praying for her and those like her, hoping for them to encounter Jesus† and/or God† revealing Himself† to them in Jesus'† name, the Savior† of the world. Jesus†, I trust in You†. Amen.
21Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. 25Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. 26Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
I'm pretty sure "brother" here refers to another believer. I'm not sure about a believer towards an unbeliever. Furthermore am unsure of where to draw the line at criticism. This post caused me to think about these things. Also, hell fire seems to refer to a mirrored judgement upon you, in context, since it immediately goes into if your brother has something against you, make peace before you get before the judge.
Few things enrage and disgust me more than when someone un-ironically uses the phrase "my truth" or "your truth".
Truth is empirical. It is not a malleable, subjective thing that one can simply manipulate to make themselves comfortable.
Obviously it's no surprise that these phrases are so popular with Leftists given that their primary focus these days is the self-obfuscation of reality.
If you twist it around on them & use the same example you made but for if we took the vax or not & they all of a sudden are all bent out of shape about what actually occurred
There is only 1 truth. But everyone has a preferred narrative that they use to selectively interpret data and ignore the points that don't fit. This isn't just a problem with the radical left. Flat Earther's, as one example, have this same tendency. I'm sure if we all look hard enough many can find examples in their own lives where they have done this.
But this identifies the real problem today...it's become too brazen and too many people are just willing to overlook obvious contradictions so they don't have to accept their narrative is flawed.
We all need to work on this if we are going to become a better species. That said, not everyone does this to the same degree. Certain people on the left are really the low hanging fruit here.
The truth is just the reality that we all have to live in regardless of peoples opinions. The more in tune you are with the truth the more power you actually have. These scumbags are just text book propagandists and actually know the truth probably better than most of us do. It's just a game to them though. They are literally expert professional lairs.
Its us or them, All of them will end up in prison or all of us will.
That said, we need to be clear on which absolute qualities can be distinctively true or false in the absolute sense. I'm not trying to be funny, I'm just saying that, for instance, in physics, time in one reference frame can appear dilated in another frame. I mean really truly appear to be so. It's not even theoretically impossible that causality can appear twisted where the effect precedes the cause.
I'm afraid that their confusion originates from (perhaps intentional) misunderstanding of Einstein's brilliant thought experiments a century ago. Now that we as a species understand the concept of relativity & now we see how that concept can be abused let's move forward to phrase things in such a way that avoids possible ambiguities. For instance, instead of saying it was 7 o'clock say it was 7 according to the users clock. etc (If there is doubt, you are not doubting the validity of the event but possibly the instruments that recorded details about it)
Its the acceptance of ambiguity in all things, morality, religion, sexual behaviour, violence and language, especially language.
It must be nice to have a mental template that tells you how to react to any given situation or occurrence, stops any other thoughts dead in their tracks. Safe space!
Reminds me of Nancy Pelosi's explanation of the "wrap up smear" . Different Truths equates to Lies, and if they tell the Media their lies and they spread them, they accomplish more evil.
I love love love that they've been forced out of the shadows to expose themselves. This is from the side who have ridiculed conspiracy theorists, who pump millions of dollars into fact checking and debunking and now that everyone sees through them they've been forced to admit the truth is whatever they need it to be to push their agendas
So she is calling for anarchy and more chaos with a fancy smile. This is a threat. However many think it is ok to threaten if you are sanctioned and charismatic.
This is no different than the evil witch who traps children in the story.
"Everyone has different truths"
Nope. They may have their perspective, but that is different.
There is only one truth.
Exactly this.
And right there is the deception: Equating perspective and perception with the truth itself.
FWIW, from a Christian or spiritual perspective, this is Lucifer's assertion. "My truth" is as important or real as yours, God."
But whether one believes in the Creator or doesn't, the premise that there is only one truth is foundational to goodness.
Amen, this is exactly why we are where we are. There is only one source of truth, the Bible. Well said Fren.

I'm not sure if that's accurate. If I enter 1 + 1 iny calculator, I accept tells the truth when it says 2.
When I buy tickets to Orlando, I believe the airline receipt is truthful and it will not send me to Boston.
Before the Bible can be declared the only truth, you must first trust the men who declared what is the Word of God to be truth tellers.
Why 27 books of the New Testament and not 26 or 28?
The Bible is truth, but 90% Christians have a false understanding of what the Bible means in many areas unfortunately.

There is a war for "THE" Truth.
The TRUE Truth

The revival that is coming will bring many in from the left. I would guess it will be most people on the left
