What a bunch of performative nonsense and choreographed pearl-clutching.
'never seen this before', Oh yeah? We just saw a guy get fined a hundred million dollars for paying a loan back to a bank on time. Never seen that before either.
I keep having to remind my husband of this. He'll be ranting and raving and I'll say, "it's beyond absurd, huh?" and then raise my eyebrow at him. He hates that.
Mostly, it's meant to help the jury get a decent idea of who you are as a person, but he doesn't have to by any means, I think they know him well enough to already have some sort of bias
To a similar point, I’m tired of hearing judges called “your honor” and all this fake decorum. Curious to the reaction of the judge if you just called him by his first name the whole trial, especially these show trials where you already know how they’ll rule.

Once their lies and projection is turned back on them people will begin to wake up.
I think we are way beyond "begin to wake Up". This is just ridiculous now and sick.
The increasing absurdity is part of the process.

It is going tonhurt them so much worse. For us, all this is a side show. But once it hits the left, holy shit is the pain gonna be real
I really think having him pay the fines is their way of getting whatever money they lost when he was president. It's revenge money for sure.
Damn, if the original figure was all Trump cost them then he needs to do better next time!
Rookie numbers Mr. President, we need to get up to the trillions!
My President.
Sticky for the Badass he is!
They got a taste of their “sitting for the national anthem” played back on them. Love it.
Excellent point.
Why should he? Would it make a difference? I think not!
Yeah what's the point in playing nice with people who have already decided to support the government tyranny?
If there is open hostility between him and the jury in court, would that be grounds for a mistrial?
I don't know, but we can hope!
He already knows the result and that it is going to an appeal, so why give them the satisfaction of pretending this is a fair process?
I remember travelling to NYC regularly in the late 90's for work. It was a great city. Smart, common sense, tough people that were great to work with.
Those people have been replaced by a bunch of collectivist pussies whose sole reason for existence is to wait for big daddy government's next order.
Thank you, President Trump. The only reason to stand up for these people is so they can lick the sweat from your balls.
I know if I were Trump I wouldn't stand for the 'judge' when he walks into the court room.
I imagine 'standing up' for the jury is a formality, not a rule.

IKR! I never called them that in court. They were called judge or sir/ma'am. Why are they any more honorable than the next person?
Why even say their name? What’s wrong with hey asshole, yeah you?
Likely something to do with "maritime admiralty law" ..
KEK funny fork them
That's my President ❤️
I mean, standing for your lunch mob ain't much different than being expected to tip your executioner. Defiance is your only power move left.
"But every condemned man tips his executioner. It's how we've always done it."
