Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way

Saying It Again--It Is Futile To Go Against God. God Wins. My Morning Bible Read Was Acts 5:17-42, "The Apostles Persecuted". Verse 39 says, "But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”

Have a blessed day.
Seeing a significant surge in Gadsden License plates!!!
Maybe a little progress. Had the kids in the car and explained to them that during peak hours we pay more the same amount of electricity at home. They seemed to actually understand that after explaining the power Company redefines the value of 1 KW for a specific time frame. I said 2 plus 2 still equals 4 but the price changes depending on the time of day.
Shifted that to voting.
Told them during peak hours of voting they change the value of a democratic vote to be counted as 2 votes for each and the value of Republican votes to be .5 for each vote.
Then when the question arises they can still claim they followed the law because they redefined the value during peak hours. So technically they did lie or break the law so when we say they cheat for instance they can call us liars.
The only way to get their algorithm they all vote on is impossible because they also vote that it is for the survival of their democracy (necks)
A little progress.
Love this analogy, may borrow it at some point if you don’t mind .
Definitely.
Prayer Garden Podcast Episode 17: Joseph
https://youtu.be/f42AmvE4wQs?si=L5FrvCC1oDqQYZtx
On this episode we speak with my friend Joseph (somesouthkoreanguy on Prayer Garden). Joseph and I met on the Prayer Garden Server and have been engaging in regular conversations over the past year. Joseph developed an early relationship with Christ by growing up in a Christian home and being active in their church, especially with Awana. We then listen to Joseph’s testimony about falling away from Christ as he battled family issues, depression, and a friend group that left him broken. However, the love his father showed him at his lowest moment turned Joseph back to Jesus. He now uses that same action of love to give back to his community and church through his passions of cooking and photography. We finally wrap up with a discussion about the end times, the solar eclipse that happened on 4/8/24, and through it all we must choose hope and faith over fear.
Thank you for tuning in! Together through Christ we have endless potential.

With all the madness happening at campuses right now... it got me thinking
how do I start this lol.... When I was "college aged", sure colleges were still a joke but only out of free will. Most people treated it like a big party. But, is that any different than public school except they lived on campus and their parents were paying alot of money for them to play beer bong? If you CHOSE to climb the ladder, you could still enter a field and dedicate several years into what would become a sustainable and high paying job.
today? If I had a college aged student I would really hope they dont get put into that meatgrinder of the mind that is "universities" and thats before 2024 became year of the Havard Holy War.
that saddens me. but....i see so many of you in the comments of posts like that who ARE parents and it gives me hope. Sure, we're in the storm now but thats how tomorrow's garden will grow.
I guess my point is salute to all the parents out there. The "free" school k-12 is bad enough without having to go bankrupt just to have them try and brainwash your kid. Being a parent is a hard, often thankless, tiring job. I only know that because I was lucky enough to be raised by a Dad who earned that title.
My kid is in high school and she says she doesn't want to go to college. I told her we won't force her.
I highly recommend people do not send their kids to college at all. Learn a trade.
You might like this song, he made it while his music was becoming what paid enough to be "his job" just acknowledging and saluting all the people who put blood sweat and tears into getting each pay check
That part about "learn a trade" made me think of it because yeah, a Trade might be "hard work" but its so much better than just becoming another drone.
here ya go

Thx 🙏
This, and even soft men or women can do it. Chef, tattoo artist, photographer, barber, etc. The left loves make it seem like trades are ALL just dangerous, dirty jobs when they are not. Just another lie to keep people enslaved
EXACTLY!!!
I’ve noticed over the years that many of the specified career paths, are full of rituals of humiliation, lessons in capitulation, and reinforcement of false belief systems.
If you want to become any of the following, you have to obey the rules above. People do it because they think they’re going to get rich - and yet, it’s no different than working for Hollywood. You still have to sell your soul and your essence to be a part of the club.
Medical Degree Legal Degree Financial Degree Education Degree
Thank God All Mighty even before I was a believer that when I was younger and dumber and got into legal trouble I was lucky enough to deal with Judges,Probation Officers, even Arresting Officers that were good people who were the kind of people those jobs needs. I didn't walk away without punishment, but I DID walk away with a memory that'll always last about these people I was expecting to be so hostile and instead they gave me guidance long as I was willing to listen.
So, LegaLDegree still has merit although i agree all of those "fields" end up being packed like sardines full of corruption. Just like in Education ore the other ones you mentioned - SOME teachers are in it for the right reason and Lord help; us all if all the good ones decide to give up the fight.
We spent much of the extended weekend at the in-laws' place in the mountains of Japan. The in-laws are not vaccinated because they did not see the point in it, although they are ignorant to how truly rotten those injections are. Despite this, father-in-law had a bit of turbo cancer. A tumor in the roof of his mouth grew rapidly and was removed. Some of his nose and upper lip was removed, giving him a sort of retarded chipmunk face. My wife and her mom believe that it was brought on by his alcoholism. I can imagine chewing tobacco would give a person mouth cancer, but daily alcohol consumption? What do you all think?
It’s what “science” says the main causes are. Maybe it could be more of the underlying conflict or emotions that have led to his alcoholism? German New Medicine would say this is a morsel conflict: https://learninggnm.com/SBS/documents/i_mouth_and_pharynx.html

Watched this with coffee this morning; just reenacted it before bedtime 😆
👏🐸🙏
Nicely done! Even the matching curtain tie-backs, shadow on the books as she leans over to pick them up, reflection on the vase as she returns it to the mantle and the deep breath with her chest rising as she lies down on the floor after her toils to rest!
OMG I love this!! ♥️🐸. And how accurate- the slipper under the sofa 😂
I just quit smoking! Haven't had one in five day's!!! I feel sometimes like I could walk up to a silver back gorilla and rip it's head off, but on the other hand the hostage rescue team isn't outside my house, so we're good. One thing I have noticed I am not sore like I usually am, I guess I've been pumping inflammation causing chemicals into my body for years. Well anyway it's getting better every day and that's it for me. Now it's off to the gym and get that High Power Lineman's bod I had years ago when I'd climb a dozen or more utility poles a day.
Yay! That is wonderful. Keep pushing through because nothing good ever comes easy. You will have that lineman climbing agility in no time. 👍
Congrats fren, it takes enormous will power to break off smoking and you are doing great. Keep it up and your future self will thank you profusely!
Thanks, my wife is going on the wagon too. We have a grandchild on the way and don't want any smoke around the new rug rat. So congrats all around I guess. Now we need to kick some cabal ass to give these new little ones a beautiful world to live in.
I'm so glad to hear this. My father in law smoked a heap. When he came in to see our newborn years ago all I could think was how disgusting it was
Perhaps you and your wife could focus your newfound energy on each other Wink wink 😉
Yes 👍
🍫🍫🍫😉😉😉
Can you imagine, being insulted by the fact that I was encouraging a man to enjoy spending alone time with his wife 🤷♀️
I was joking, however… This is known as a successful therapy for people quitting cigarettes at the same time. It really does work!!!
Smoking cigarettes is literally an oral fixation 😂😂😂😂
I need to look for a job but I'm terrified of rejection. It's like when I walk into an office to fill out an application and the people there look at me and think, "Are you kidding me? You'll never work here." I can feel their thoughts. 😕
Good luck A psych tactic if it's an interview (and not just resume handing in). Find something in common. Talk about your similarities. People like familiar
This reminds me of some pre-interview jitters I was having (decades ago). Being what I call "a worst case thinker" (ie- always considering what the worst thing that could happen might be as I try to mentally prepare) I decided that the very worst that could happen, reasonably, would be to spend a short while with the initial interviewer and have him laugh and deride me, tell me that I'm an idiot and am not qualified, lead me towards the door of the building to usher me out with other employees joining in the derision and jeering. That was it. The very worst outcome of a "failed interview" summed up. And then I smiled because I knew how I'd react if I was ever in that situation - I'd tell them all to F#@& right off and walk out knowing full well that I'm far from stupid and thankful that I'd never join that firm as an employee. You know you've got skills to do various jobs and you're going in to see if this job is a good fit right now - both from your perspective and from theirs. The voices whispering this tripe into your thoughts are not from God, rest assured, so try to push them out.
Something else to consider... Years ago I'd heard a pro basketball player talking about how he's highly nervous before every single game - and that this is a GOOD thing. I thought about it, how I could apply it to my life (and interviews are certainly an appropriate time for that). When you're nervous, your adrenaline is pumping and your senses are heightened. You're "on your game", so to speak. So the added nerves before a stressful situation are helping you, in effect!
Very best of luck, anon. May you get this job IF it's the right one for you at the current time or find an even better one if it's not.
Those are your thought's not theirs, we all have insecurities . For me, I always have started out slow at a new occupation, but then when I feel comfortable I become the best they have and those same people come to me to fix the problems.
I saw an Audi with government plates yesterday... Etc where is our tax money going?!
Gonna keep it short and sweet today...
May all of you who are going through bad times find the strength to get through it
And may all of you going through good times have the wisdom to enjoy it
Cause neither lasts forever.
love ya, Frens. Keep your heads up and have a beautiful Sunday
here's a random song you might enjoy. (Some of you may remember him as the one i've posted before who made the God We Need You Now song with the Q reference....and for those that dont know this is also Waylon Jennings' Grandson.)

Baffling.
Happy Easter to our Orthodox Christians! 🙏✝️✨
Christ is risen!
Truly He is risen!!
I am about to break a proposed law that has already passed the House. Read Matthew 23 from verse 13 to the end of the chapter. https://www.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.23.NIV In this passage, Jesus, an observant Jew, deeply criticizes the Jewish leaders of His time to their face in the temple. He calls them blind guides and hypocrites. This is close to a Trumpian “mean tweet”. Some say that it was this monologue where the Pharisees fully committed to putting our Lord to death thinking that they actually had the power to do this. Christ voluntarily went to the cross to take on the burden of our sins.
If the Senate passes the House bill and the Resident signs it into law thinking that he has the power to do this, will this comment be illegal if I repost it after this unconstitutional bill becomes law?
I do not think that bankers are behind all wars.
...
Got your attention? Good.
Let me explain why I think that way. Obvious answer is that there are wars in the ancient world (ancient enough where banks and money will not have existed) and in the parts of the world where banks do not have that much of an influence. I do not think banks are existent when the Hebrews conquered the promised land during the events of the Book of Joshua, for example. After all, people were still storing and preserving their wealth by burying it like pirate treasure, or carrying it around with them. Both are methods of storing wealth before any institution resembling banks existed.
In fact, banking and lending for interest is not especially prohibited in the Bible. One of Jesus's Parables (The Parable of Talents to be precise) have the master harshly condemned a lazy servant who did nothing with the modest sum of money (referred to as "talents") and just hide it away (which is what people used to do to protect their valuables and wealth before banks). Said master even have this suggestion to the condemned servant:
In this light, banking and lending with interest becomes a fact of life in a mature civilization with mature economies and mature societies.
Want my opinion on what causes wars?
My opinion is what cause wars and conflicts is politics. I have taken a training course in political campaigning a couple of years ago, and one of the first lessons is what is politics is really about: The proclamation of power and the process of figuring out who rules over whom. Sounds ugly, but the teacher tells us to count our blessings because, in other parts of the world, politics is carried out primarily with violence and thugs with guns (with a picture of a crying woman being executed by a Taliban goon to drive home that point).
When put into that perspective, war is an extension of politics to defeat and dominate one's enemies and opponents. War are not necessarily evil. God has used wars and invasion to correct and punish the wicked, from driving out the wicked tribes from the Promised Land to allowing foreign invasions to punish the fallen Kingdoms of Israel and Judah, and causing said invaders to be defeated in warfare by the Israelites once the punishing is done. However, like all things earthly, wars have been repeatedly hijacked to serve the interests of evil, and no doubt evil will try to hijack these current wars too if they have not done so already.
The De Facto Mission Statement of the Great Awakening Movement is to have everyone expand their thinking beyond what they programmed to think in order to find the truth. To achieve this, we must be willing to put to the harshest tests our own beliefs; failure to do so means we are no better than the normies we mock constantly (in fact, we might be worse by then since we have the element of ungodly pride blinding us to our impending fall).
Well spoken.
Happy Boston won tonight.
Hebrews 12:1&2
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
