It was weird going into Walmart and being the only one without a mask. Curiously, nobody bothered me and the employee I talked to about some electronic gizmo didn’t mention it.
The local ACE hardware was full of non compliants though. Hardcore DIY types.
Sadly, I still to this day see these Walmart bozos walking around with their masks on.
It's rare, but there's still some Karen's out there wearing them driving alone in the car. I just point and laugh
remember one-way aisles :D what a joke
A supermarket by me had men at the door with clicker counters counting people in and out and only allowing a small number in at a time. So there was a massive queue all around the car park with 6ft spacing between each household. I just shopped elsewhere, haven't been back since
Home depot near me did this too. I hate that business now. I haven't forgotten that they treated human beings like cattle. I don't beg businesses to do business with me!
My kid brother refers to them as "Home Despot." Ever since they went to compulsory self-scanning, I stopped buying things from them. Other hardware stores still have cashiers.
I remember standing in my bank, looking at the floor which was riddled with stickers that said:
More mid-stage commie catchphrases...
Unity by division
Free speech by censorship
Decency by deviancy
Freedom by lockdowns
...etc... etc... etc...
All a bunch of Muriburiland malarkey!
My local ACE hardware, which is a mile from my house, had a guy at the door telling people to put on a mask. I told him I had a medical reason for not wearing one and he asked to see my paperwork. I told him to F off and left. I now drive the extra 5 miles to lowes or hd, neither of which ever gave me any problems. It's a dang shame, but I refuse to do business with people like that, and haven't been back in the almost 4 years since then.
Here in UK denying entrance for no mask was illegal. If you said you were exempt from masks then that was all that was necessary and they had to let you in. An Aldi supermarket who refused entry was successfully sued and paid out 10k in compensation.
Wow, in the UK?
This is one reason I avoided Home Depot (Even in the Free State of Florida!) during COVID. Lowe's never did give me any problem, even in the thick of the COVID Plandemic.
Same here. Lowe’s left me alone but HD had this old man at the door harassing people about masks.
I stopped going to several stores. If the mask people were at the door, I told them to do some research on masks and their purpose.
For me it was weird being the only freeface in 99% of all buildings I entered. It was surreal, the compliance in Florida was virtually complete. Got challenged a few times; my answer was always the same: Doctors said not to wear it.
So the prescribing physician at the door making minimum wage got rebuffed every time.
By the time I moved from IL to FL in 2021, FL was in opposition to the mask, except the county school district tried to mandate it. That didn’t last long, it was overturned by DeSantis who at the time seemed to have our backs.
Where I live in Florida, the compliance was off the charts. I was nauseated by the creepy, blank-eyed, unquestioning obedience—and ASTOUNDED on those rare occasions when I saw another freeface in any building. These robots called Floridians made me feel like some sort of 'cultural hero' just for BREATHING.
Same. I never wore a mask anywhere and was only asked to leave 2 places, which I've never returned to. If anyone said anything it was usually other customers, Karens, who would tattle on me. Like at the mammogram office, and the register line at a Home Goods. Those Karens were so mad that I wasn't made to put one on.
