Two questions: 1. The reaction of the Secret Service agent is a bit (time) retarded, isn't it? and 2. What a lucky kekincidence someone was filming the agent just in that moment, hm? (twitter.com)

Am I the only one seeing this? Doesn't the sniper shoot the shooter exactly at the same moment that the first shot is fired? Who fired the remaining shots?

And amazingly, you can see the sniper lift up his head and take a look at the shooter exactly as Trump says "Take a look at what happened".

Also, its notable that the sniper has his gun positioned exactly in the direction of the shooter.

What you believe to be the sniper shooting is actually him changing his aim to where the shots came from. You are hearing shots from the shooter when you see the sniper rifle jerk and change point of aim. The sniper rifle being used would not jerk away to the side as you see the sniper changing point of aim. Looks like the sniper changed his point of aim by 10-15 degrees before firing.

Yes. Exactly this!

  • sniper perfect position, already eye on the shooter

  • how long was the sniper already fixcating the shooter + doing nothing?

  • shooter shot first, sniper lifts head (WHY?) the sniper shoots back

  • perfect position of the person filming the sniper

Snipers remove eye from scope to prevent recoil eye injury. Your 100% on target.

I have fired rifles with scopes on them and I didn't have my eye on the scope itself. It was set up so that I could look through it and see most effectively with my eye 2-3 inches behind the scope. I was able to fire the rifle without moving my head before firing. It worked better when I was able to keep my eye on the target as far into the motion of my trigger finger as possible until I probably flinched reflexively. Just my two cents.

Isn't that what proper eye relief is for? And I can't imagine a professional sniper making that much of a "jerking" motion prior to a shot. Taking eyes off target before shooting seems to go against all weapons training been a part of.

how long was the sniper already fixcating the shooter + doing nothing?

I am guessing he knew the location of the shooter but the shooter hadn't shown up yet.

shooter shot first, sniper lifts head (WHY?) the sniper shoots back

I watched it again. When the sniper lifts his head no shots have been fired. The first shot is heard only after the sniper lifts his head. Also, the camera cuts off the frame, but it looks like the sniper is changing postion after the first shot - almost like shooting someone who is running away ...

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense yet.

Giving it the ole 72… super bizarre. No way a 20 yo with an AR got that close. A marine can shoot 500 yards, I read this was 150?

Who’s the guy that comes down from the bleachers with a green backpack and glow sticks and bosses the ss around?

Then, there’s the guy behind Trump next to a blonde in a teal shirt (viewers left) that literally looks like the caddy shack.

Here are two absolutely riveting pieces of information. One, the sniper removed his eye from the scope before firing, to protect his eye, a pro move. He could be seen as a hero in slow motion observing the entire process making the most important shot of his life. Two, the perimiter was cordoned off with enough space to provide distance as a protective barrier concering bullets. They say it was an AR-15 in early reports , however its most likely a .22 long gun, again both calculated to deliver minor damage if allowed to occur, despite the head shots of the victims so far. Two head shots is impressive (one dead, Trump survival). Third is in intensive care without additional detal. Very skilled shooter despite what he looks like. Always remember appearences are a part of the game.

what 'pro' or rookie takes their eye off the scope when firing ?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 8 ▼
– FreeSpeechAnon 8 points 1 year ago +8 / -0

Agree. I've shot numerous scoped rifles and have never shot like this. I'm not professionally trained. Just a 30+ year rifle hunter. I've never heard of stopping to look at your target while shooting. And rifles don't recoil nearly enough to throw the scope into your face when held correctly.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– konadog 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

All of them when prepared. Think of a camera and a remote shutter control. You press a remote button while the hardware is in EXACT focus and frame.

In such long focus if you were to introduce mechanical 'buttons' to activate the 'capture' your going to alter the focus and STABILITY.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 6 ▼
– shuush 6 points 1 year ago +6 / -0

This is nonsense.

You would never remove eye from scope before shooting.

Don't let having no idea what you are talking about stop you from acting as an authority though.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– konadog 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

I'm not an authority , however, the sniper was behind a .50 cal. Long Rifle. Its almost six feet long and the round is immense. Have You ever seen a head blown off from a 1/4 mile a way ? The kick from this rifle can and will cost you your eye. The concussion is at least a few inches. The scope on a normal round as you allude to is in line. I am in agreement with you. Not trying to cause problems here so you know .

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– Z28-310 2 points 1 year ago +2 / -0

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but I have to disagree. I was taught to fire a rifle in the military and they never once talked about moving our eyes out of the way of the scope due to recoil. To be honest, I only learned to fire an M-16, and they didn't have scopes on them, but they did go through a very long teaching process on how we were supposed to fire the rifle.

Having said that, I have fired some sniper rifles with scopes on them, and if they are set up correctly, you just don't need to get your eye right up next to the scope to look through it. If set up properly, there is a clear view through the scope if you are a few inches behind it.

Here is a video of a guy firing a .50 caliber sniper rifle. As you can see here, he was able to keep his eye on the target throughout the shot, because his eye was never right on the back of the scope. I bet it would be pretty cool to shoot one of those bad boys! :D

▲ 1 ▼
– shuush 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

Oh its obvious you are definitely not an authority.

Nobody who shoots professionally, or even casually is moving out of line with the scope and then firing the shot.

You may not be trying to cause problems but you definitely have no idea what you're talking about.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– konadog 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

So... You have never seen a professional camera operator trigger a shutter ? A professional uses a mechanism to hold the rifle, to perfect stillness. At 1500 feet a motion will equate to large offset. You must be a military man and not a paid assasin. Yes in hack ghetto rooftop shcmackdowns we don't give a fuck if we miss, we will just pull the trigger again, and hey the target it not of importance anyway. In high time real life, you have the best, because your the best and you use the instrument once and walk away, clean. Your a clown, talking clown shit, so clown on and stop insulting me.

it's possible he wasn't actually hit in the breast, the first bullet hit trump, and he flinched. This is wild speculation on my part, but it's possible that when he did so, his unbuttoned blazer (which appears to be fairly loose-fitting came open as the bullet whizzed past, adding a new button-hole, but otherwise leaving him unharmed.

Also, I can't tell from the photo, but is that an exit or entry hole on the blazer?

honestly, I'm literally on the spectrum, and while I'm frazzled like everybody else, I came into this mess well after the initial panic, so I'm basically trying to figure out what's going while sifting through a thousand posts. Dunno for sure, but I suspect it gives me a bit of distance, lol.

On the one hand, it's horrendous something like this happened, on the other, I think whoever was behind this just fucked up royally. Trump has always thrived under pressure, but they just made this personal for him in a way I don't think they intended.

to put it another way, "lock her up" might be more than a meme after today...

A question - I've never held a gun, but the diagram appears to put the shooter to the side of Trump, yet the blood splatter is forward, on this face/temple, as if the shot came from behind.

If from the side then slightly off the ear then into his skull.

Having looked on google maps come to similar conclusion.

What am I missing please?

From behind would be the position of "escape corridor" or "secret service sniper".

Trump was fucking furious, he knows from where the shot came and was positioned where.

Why was this building at the side of him not occupied by security? It is the only large building very close to this place for the rally.

Very likely actually. For example I was taking videos of the same area trying to look at the golden fringed flags with the bald eagle tip.

At least I was able to confirm the golden fringed flags with bald eagle tip.

And you have over 50,000 people attending so odds are things are getting filmed. Lots of people using their phones to film stuff in the vicinity.

Those two men appear to police offices rather than SS, and they SHOULD have been looking almost exactly at the spot the shooter was set up as spectators had noticed the shooter on that roof with a rifle and notified police and SS several minutes BEFORE the first shots were fired. It’s not audible in this particular video, but While Trump is speaking, you can hear someone yelling “GUN! GUN! HE HAS A GUN!” Like 20 seconds before the first shot.

Here is a NY Post link with closeup photos of the police snipers, as well as a photo of the alleged gunman after he had been shot and killed on the roof (far away so not graphic).

From what I've heard, she is actually doing what she is supposed to be doing, which is covering President Trump from any additional shots.

The problem with her is the fact that she was even there in the first place. IMO, women have no place in a job like this, because they are just physically not capable of dealing with the situation as well as a man would.

Looking at the picture, she is just too small. A large man could have covered up quite a bit more of President Trump's body, and if he had needed more help walking, a man would have had the strength to help more in carrying him off the stage if that had been necessary.

It really irritated me that after they loaded him into the SUV, there were THREE women standing in front of the vehicle and one more behind it. These all should have been men, preferably 6'3" tall or taller.

Sorry ladies. I love when you are around, but not in every situation. This was one of them.
