I was referencing an 80's Pepsi commercial sweepstakes that implied tongue in cheek that one prize was your very own STOL fighter jet. I believe there was a lawsuit over the sweepstakes since it want a real prize.
It’s the Marines version, it has vertical take off and hover capability. Slower than the other f35’s it literally has a fan system behind the cockpit, doors open and voosh it’s hovering eating fuel like Rosie O’Donnell at Golden Corral. I bet maintenance is a nightmare trying to keep it deployable.
i didn't drink enough pepsi... all i got from them was a Fuji mountain bike and a bunch of Pepsi beach towels. the sad thing is that the bike is long gone... we still have the beach towels!

As a former Lockheed Martin employee, I'm surprised it could hold a stationary hover for this long, regardless of the cost... Hell, I'm surprised it even got off the ground...

I remember reading that this project was over budget but was kept going because the different parts were being produced in like 30 different states and no politician wanted to shoot themselves in their foot so they kept the inflated project going? Am I right or am I confusing this with another aircraft? This video is full of symbolism if I am right!
A Fantasy would be it has a bomb and will drop it if a single person leaves the capital building, that way the US Marshals can clean up on the Treason and CAH they have committed. Sigh, just a fantasy...

That is the air intake for the lift fan. That holds up the front of the aircraft and the engine thrust holds up the rear of the aircraft.
