I've never seen a voting machine produce a receipt for an individual voter.
maybe that's possible for people that vote via touch-screen or button-pushing devices?
Good point. I have seen ballot marking devices, but only for people who have a disability that would make it difficult to use pen & paper.
Those ballots still get fed into the ballot scanner though.
I second that. I have even requested validation that my vote was correctly read into the machine, some indication after scanning through, that the candidates selected on paper, were read correctly, and that has never been available.
Part of a fair election is that no one can know for sure how you voted. If voters can be provided with proof of how they voted, that could open up a scheme where candidates can pay people to vote a certain way. "Show me your receipt that you voted for me, and I'll give you $X" Right now the best they can do is register people and drive them to the polls, but the pollbooth is still private and people can vote however they want there.
Granted, another part of a fair election is that the vote counters (whether they be human or machine) provide accurate counts. This is likely broken, which is why people want receipts. If this part were not broken, the receipts wouldn't matter.
I agree with you premise about receipt. I never used the word Receipt, meaning something like a printout that I could take with me. I only indicated that I was looking for some form of validation like a screen image of the votes read into the machine..
In IL we've had two machines in the past decade. The first one you see a paper printed behind glass and you get asked to review it and then hit accept or reject. A couple years ago they changed to machines that print out a paper sheet that you review then you take it over to a scanner and feed it in. Neither one makes me feel any better as we know the vote flipping really happens long after that final scanning step (which makes getting these paper receipts pointless.)
I'm in ILannoy... I've never seen this system.
It has always been a paper ballot, marked with a Sharpie.
That ballot is fed into a machine that reads & reports the vote.
The paper ballot is maintained per voting laws, regs & policies (no matter how bad they may be.)
Ok I just got back from voting here in Tennessee. From what I’ve found is our new voting machines do print a receipt. It’s not a receipt that you can keep, it’s printed out right beside the matching in a sealed, clear box. I took a picture of mine, it’s allowed. So you look at that receipt printed and you over look your casted votes. If it’s correct, you then press the “cast vote” button and the receipt goes into a sealed metal, big luggage style box. Actually the whole voting thing is inside this luggage looking thing. I actually was impressed at this new system. But, the system IS plugged into the internet, I asked specifically this. And it is. So how the receipts get tallied I have no idea. They went through the process and those workers have zero to do with those pieces of paper once they go into the box. So….if the steal is possible at that point then…..oh and also, this video posted is of course in Shelby county. I asked about this and they knew for a fact that Shelby county had not updated their voting machine. I have no doubt that that is by design. But, the video describes that the Dems are losing votes…? Maybe it’s because so many of the black population of Memphis is voting Trump, and they think there is something wrong with the machines? Or an excuse to say that, so those won’t be counted?

Seems to me that selecting the box should be only way to select candidate.
It would be easy to press the box, and actually press the end of the name in the wrong column. A person looking to cheat could even make a box in one column part of hyperlink to the candidate in totally different column.
The election people say the box has to be pressed with the stylus or the name pressed with the finger. If you press the box with your finger it may vote for someone else. So, yes, this does sound like it is by design, or not thoroughly tested, or both. Oh, and the voters were strangely not provided a stylus.
Notice it's those damned Amish that can't seem to successfully vote no matter what, not paper ballot, or electronic.

In Georgia, each station has a printer that prints your vote. You check the printed receipt before handing it in to the poll worker to be machine counted. Each voter needs to check the paper to verify that it's actually indicates your choices. If it doesn't, report it. Demand that it be corrected, then move to another station and cast your vote again. When you get a print out that matches, PLEASE TAKE A PHOTO WITH YOUR PHONE so that you have proof for later to dispute if need be.
Even better. Film yourself voting. Film everything.
Which is why they've been forbidden you having your phone outside of your pocket inside the voting area.

Let's face the elephant in the room. Trump has significantly more support for president than Harris, there is no doubt. However, the fraud of 2020 has never been addressed or fixed. Therefore, at this point, I still do not believe things will turn out well as to how the votes are counted. There is no limit to their evil or their shameless fraud.

I was planning on going Monday to vote here in Tennessee. May just head out here in a few and vote today, and see for myself. I’ll ask about some sort of receipt, but we’ve never had those available before from what I recall.
We never had receipts in California either. Your ballot goes into a machine and that's the end of it. If our votes were switched, we'd never know it. The whole system is beyond criminal.

🤔 How far fetched would it be if the dems have programmed the machines to switch some votes from Camela (or other dems) to Trump (or other Republicans) and say that whatever source (republicans, Russia, China….) hacked the voting machines and are changing the dem votes to Trump/republicans and that’s why Trump wins the election. Trying to do what they did to get Bidet & Camela admin in office in 2020, but switched because this way they can say election rigging is the only way Trump could win.
Just seems funny how it’s only dem voters saying this “switch” is happening and everyone is worried about it now but in 2020 when people were saying this happened with Trump votes, they said it wasn’t happening.

At my poll last time we marked paper ballots and then fed them into a scanner from where they fell into a locked bin. I never received a copy or even the option to get a copy.

Here we fill little ovals by pen and feed all the pages individually into a computer sitting on top of a big trash can or something. i IMAGINE the computer is locked to the can to somehow establish a chain of custody of the actual paper ballots that come out of the bottom after they are read.
I don't get a receipt and I complain every year.
We used to get a receipt with a number on it that matched the number on the paper ballot we cast. There was nothing connecting us to the ballot except the little receipt we had. They stopped that prior to 2020. We get nothing now.
We never had a paper printout before. Are all the polling stations going to have that?
The snakes in my town don't give receipts or printouts. I plan on taking a photo of it before I give it to the town clerk; voting tomorrow.

I like to believe there is a plan in place and military is in control. I really do.
But what if there isn’t? What if 2020 was just a dry run in their election fraud scheme and they’ve spent the last 4 years fine-tuning it and making sure all of those in places of authority to call it out are in on the scheme. It’s clear Trump would likely win at least 48/50 states if it was 100% fair election. But it won’t be a fair election.
What can We the People actually do when all of the people in positions of power are corrupt to the core? We already saw what they did to the J6 heroes— locked them up in abhorrent conditions for years on end without any due process for peacefully protesting. If it was 2016 when I was young and didn’t have a lot to lose, I would be more willing to risk it all to make my voice peacefully heard. But now in 2024, I’m the mother of two small children who need me. I can’t risk getting hauled away by a corrupt DOJ to rot for years in the gulags for the crime of exercising my Constitutional rights. What can we do?!
I don’t mean to sound so pessimistic, but at the same time, I never imagined I would witness a stolen election in real time with zero repercussions for those who orchestrated it. I want to have faith in this country, but I fear it’s too late. I fear 2016 was our last real election.
