Never occurred to me, but makes sense. Is this something you just noticed w/hindsight or do you recall signals from news reporting at the time that it may have been something beyond an impulsive move from Musk?
I was always a little sad that X's emergence undercut Gab & Truth--who had done the right things--but X has really blossomed into the place for real discussion w/the widest demographic reach. Maybe just another of Trump taking one for the team in the short term.
I don't know about Gab, but don't worry about Truth, it's probably just a placeholder.
Agree. Feel like the TV direction they are going makes more sense & has the natural alignment with Trump's skills.
It's easy to envision Trump running a faith-based conglomerate that supplants some of Fox/Netflix/Youtube. Biblical cartoons for kids and young adults, movies & television series that inspire us rather than degrade us and make us fearful. News channels that investigate rather than deliver the 3:00 AM narrative. With Trump as the master of ceremonies overseeing it.

I have always envisaged that it will take things like well made documentaries to awaken most people, the people who can't quite make those leaps on their own without narrative support.
Truth+ the TV app is awesome. Very nice HD content. No buffering. Can rewind live shows. Record shows for later. All of the best conservative news outlets are there already. More programming to come. It is legit!

Think of the share sales by Gates, Soros and others. What will the value of the shares be after the crash, when all the bad guys lose their wealth at almost the same time, hopefully! Better to do it now and convert the earnings into real money.

Musk sold all seven of his mansions in 2020 and now lives on a $50k prefabricated house that he rents. When asked why he did this his one word response was “freedom”.
The man has been stripped of his assets and is forced to cooperate. He certainly did not buy Twitter.
I always thought the "hostage" with the new puppet master was Alwaleed bin Talal, since he owned a near majority portion of Twitter and Bank of America, and was thrown in jailed after the coup. Q had said he was cooperating and his assets seized.
But Musk could make sense too since he was used for developing rocket technology outside of NASA to smuggle to NK.
Musk was the DoD's highest paid contractor under Trump. Who knows what he has been tasked with.
