I have not bought anything from Smithfield in years, knowing it was China owned. I purchase all of my meat grass fed/grass finished from a local farmer in Canton, Ohio (free range chickens, turkeys and grass fed and finished beef and hogs). They also have eggs and vegetables. They worked side by side in the processing to be sure they get back the meat brought in and that it is not switched-quality control. We also purchase from an Amish farmer grass fed/finished who has a storefront in Streetsboro, Ohio and processes their own cattle in Orwell, Ohio. Supporting local is best, it helps the little guy and you have better quality. Yes, you pay more, but the taste and quality is better. The beef is more tender, cooks faster, and has a much better flavor. Free range chicken is more tender, not tough like you purchase in the store. The FDA, CDC, NIH all must be disbanded. They never protected the consumer, but are owned financially by big pharma, meat producers, and big business. All the additives, chemical fertilizers, GMO’s and regulations all favor big business, big pharma, and the medical community (doctors and hospitals) for increasing crop yields, and keeping us sick.
I’m a grain farmer and close to where we farm is a 2k acre propriety some of the best soil in Ohio. A subsidiary company of gates’ bought it 10 years ago. This has been happening for a long time. Small family farms like ours have a hard time competing. The price of farmland has quadrupled in my lifetime if not more and I’m only in my early 30s. Please lord protect RFK jr. let’s make small farms great again!!!
Oh and btw they turn these farms into solar farms which strips the top soil making it worthless even if we were able to get it back somehow. It’s pure evil.

Corporate power must be rethought and curtailed. It always puts the individual entrepreneur out of business and then hires people to do the same work for crappy wages. Corporations get so big they bribe and strongarm governments. By giving them legal status equal to people they have an unfair advantage by the fact that they don't age and die. There must be limits of some kind imposed on corporations.
Just don’t extend it to business in total. We may want some sort of operational thresholds whereby we all get some sort of say/control on operations over a certain size. E.g. it takes a LOT of capital to create say a fully operational refinery, and it’s operations and downstream production affect everyone.
Currently, some major stockholders control it, and a big international conglomerate gives the marching orders, and some regulator who’s bought off oversees the whole thing, supposedly. Is there a better way to control that asset? Is it right that a small handful of people should be the only ones capable of determining what that thing does? Is that the best way to get the best results?

We were, at one time, a very large beef and pork farming community. The roads leading into Chicago from our farmlands were at one time, the paths cattle were walked in on. Those paths were 40-50 miles long into the city. Big ag put too much burden in the form of regulation. It was impossible for the small farmer to stay in business. At one time, in my county, we had more cattle per square mile than anywhere in the United States. We had processing plants in all of the small towns. Not anymore. Big ag ran them out of business as well
Some version of this type of takeover (if not farms, then other industries) has happened in every state. These are the areas we citizen journalists can work to expose!
