Yes, let’s make them famous. They refused to vote yes on a bill that they were only given an hour to read. Take a good look at who is on that list. Thomas Massie stands out, he said vote on each item separately. https://x.com/LibertyCappy/status/1869952457805041684
Oh, I'm sure they have ways to read these things, especially at only 116 pages. I would be happy if the gov't just went ahead and shut down. This just shows some of who will stand against PDJT at every turn. Some probably had good reasons for voting against it, but it's on them to make their case to the people. I just wanted to get the names out there.
Sure they can read a 116 page bill in an hour. Then you have to parse the wording and find out where the grift is going. I think they should hold out for single items bills. Let’s make it the standard.
Am pretty sure the fifteen rounds of Speaker selection battle was (in part) to implement new house rules that included single topic bills.
Rules of the House
See section 2.
I agree.
I DO believe some are missing the point of what PDJT did. HE is "PROVING" to the proletariat that we DO NOT HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT...and this will go along way when the time comes when he starts slashing the budgets and DOGE comes on-line and it will be a two-fer!!!!!
I dont think thats whats going on here at all. Trump wants a shutdown but he wants it on Bidens watch and dems blamed.
This outcry against these RINOs -- Biggs? Mace? Massie? -- is coming from death cult moles among conservative influencers. Or they just dont get what is really going on in the world.
Trump has these morons on the left in a vice grip. This bill is still over 100 billion dollars and adds stuff that shouldnt be in a CR to temporarily fund the government. What they have added to this CR are things that should be their own separate bill. Essentially the only thing removed was the regulatory overreach in the original and the money stays nearly the same. Trump asking for the debt ceiling to be eliminated is the tell.
Are we kin? Kek
We might be, I have around 60 first cousins. 🤣
This
I thought I saw Massie's name prmoted in this forum yesterday, in connection with SOTH?
I know people on X were promoting him for speaker. Maybe here as well.
Yeah, and would you believe someone actually downvoted my simple remark that Massie's name was promoted in connection with SOTH
smh
Lot of shills here since DJT on.
Take a closer look at the names. There are good people on there. They voted no but are willing to work to get a deal done and the 116 page version will be much easier to work with them on.
It's shameful that Johnson was willing to waste a mountain of time secretly creating a shitty bill with dozens of nefarious provisions that Democrats were happy with, but now everyone flips out when Republicans--who are in the majority--need a couple of days to work out a real bill?
Amen! Tim Burchett, my representative from East Tennessee, is a good man, and only a fool would call him a "RINO." I'm certain there were good reasons for him to vote against it, most likely because it still contained odious funding parts.
You ain't wrong, BanjoMan. Burchett is a good man and my representative as well. I hope they do shut it down. Chances are, nobody would even notice.
NOT RINOs. They object to the bill's amount of spending which is the same amount the dorkacrats put forward. The 116 page bill the 38 Republicans voted against, which was shorter and did eliminate lots of special spending projects did not reduce the level of spending or the amount of debt that would be added to deficit. Hopefully a new bill will come out of this with reduced spending- i.e. much less pork and absolutely no specials for any congressman.
RINO's??? I see many Patriots!! Shutting the government down is probably in the best interest of the citizens, and Trump as well :-) Thank goodness that some Republicans showed some spine and have gone on record that they will not pass another appropriations bill that carries baggage not associated with fiscal matters.
Play chess instead of checkers and see the moves and counter moves unfold!
Is the criteria to approve a bill just that it’s under 150 pages now?
Just reading it?
Comprehending it?
Understanding the nuances?
What about spirited debate?
Public insight into what their laws will be and ability to also understand and approve of the bill?
What if 20 items are phenomenal things we’ve all wanted for decades, and one item stealthily gives the key to total unilateral authority to Caesar?
We should make these reps famous FOR upholding the duty of their office, not for voting down a “better, but still bad, if only by how it was presented” bill, just because it came from “our guy”.
Maybe a shut down is needed. Perhaps they are following instructions to show how ludacris it is to wait till the 11th hour to pass a spending bill that has thousands of items in it. Perhaps they are showing all the waste in these bills and how much gets stuck in even in smaller bills. Massie is right each bill should be about one thing not hundreds or thousands of separate things all piled into one and you gotta pass it to see what's in it mentality.
I saw Chip Roy's passionate speech against this bill. In effect, even though it's shorter, this bill also is a disgrace, an affront to "financial responsibility". Chip's still one of the good guys, and I have no doubt he convinced many other good guys to vote against it on the grounds that it wasn't a good enough improvement.
Thomas Massie is on that list. I think that if he voted against it then he had a good reason to do so.
One subject, one bill.
This is the same list posted last night by someone saying these are the heroes that voted against the 1547 page bill.
Massie is the smartest guy in the room and worth trusting
that's right, that Morgan Luttrell, he's such a pus... wait a second... nvm...
If I were in Congress, I'd make it a campaign promise not to vote on any bill I hadn't personally read first.
That way there's no misunderstandings, at home, or in the swamp ...
Perhaps they don't want any spending bill to pass before President Trump takes office?
There are way more No’s from the democrats.
I believe they have their reasons.
I would vote against anything that didnt include a 40% pay raise, even if I had a special retirement, medical and paid living expenses gig that I didnt have to show up to.
Thank you. Amazing. I see many I would not expect.
Been reading comments throughout my workday. Points well taken. Admittedly, I tend to use the term RINOs when I should probably say Uniparty. I don't trust any of them. They turn at the drop of a hat. I don't know all these names or what they supposedly stand for, I mainly wanted to get the list out for you all to see. My terminology and personal views tainted my intent. My bad. I also know PDJT often spins things just to bring attention to them. Others also play along. The narrative is sometimes bait to reel in those who don't have our best interests in mind and to make them display themselves. I totally agree on the single issue bills. I guess I just don't have much faith in our congress and their willingness to inact this because I don't ever remember it happening before and I doubt in their intentions to actually do this now. A mere 116 page bill is a remarkable feat as far back as I have paid much attention to such matters. Man, if they do go single issue, then my views will be challenged and maybe changed. I just don't believe in our system as it stands right now. I do pray it can/ will be reformed.
Many of them didn't agree with raising the debt ceiling....
Looks like they did a good thing to me.
Rutherford voted for it, Massey and Mace didn't. Enough said for me.
Chip Roy and Morgan Luttrell? They’re SUPPOSED to be our good guys? They ALL have to go. Term limits in every bill introduced until it passes. Two terms, no matter the office—THAT should speed things up in DC……if we still HAVE a DC after all this!
What the hell is wrong with these so called representatives?
What about pussy boy Vance who voted for the original shit bill?
we got the Dems to cause the shutdown
If you're gonna try to take such a hot position I recommend you at least know who is eligible to vote on HOUSE bills. Hint - SENATORs are not.
