That may be, but Pearson did not develop Common Core and there was no $350 million contract. This Twitter post is false.
I happen to know a little bit about both of these industries because I have relatives who worked in them.
In the publishing industry blockbuster books are sold via an auction.
The Obamas signed a joint deal, both Obamas were agreeing to publish multiple books I believe. It was said the auction for just Barrack's presidential memoir started around 18 million dollars. He was making bank no matter who published his book. Michelle's book sold even more than his. She moved over a million hardcover copies in the first two weeks.
As for the Common Core, Pearson didn't develop that. This is a super easy fact to check. And there was no $350 million contract with the federal government for Pearson. Total fiction.
Textbook sales are made at the State level. Some of those states chose Pearson, but some chose McGraw-Hill or Houghton Mifflin or Cengage or any of the other text book publishers
Look at Colorado. This is a common core state
Look at all the different publishers who have approved material
yes a lot of info there thanks ,,,but common core is destroying the kids...it is the dumbing down of America. I remember the first time my daughter brought home some math problems the common core style. She was having a hard time bc it made no sense. I sat down to help her and was appalled on what they are teaching. I showed her the real way to do math and she said it made sense and this was easy. The teacher did not like the way she was doing it because it was not how she was shown so she was going to fail her, right up until the time DAD went to see the teacher. Well the teacher started to explain this is not how she was shown. I stopped her mid sentence and said "Look you are going to tell an aircraft engineer how to do math?? I dont think so". I asked her what were her qualifications to teach math. She said i am a certified teacher. I say "That is not what i asked." I told her you can get your degree in finger painting and call yourself whatever you like. Your job as a teacher is to teach and if you cant make it make logical sense to the kids you are in the wrong profession. i then told her if you fail my daughter because she is smarter than you, I pity the outcome you will be dealing with me and you wont like it. Funny how my daughter passed with flying colors. Common core is still bullshit....
Even the Washington post had a link. If you have a search engine you can see anything I can see.
It is dots to be connected. Mergers, meetings, money. It is quite a web. But it seems you have made up your mind. Which is fine. Others who have looked have come to different conclusions. This is old news. I tend to spend my time on the current. Usually.
But money went to A.
A. Kicked back to B.
We all are aware of how the payoff money laundering thing works. It is a corrupt world.
Ah, so you think it might be 2019 but the European twitter just does the last two digits? That would make sense. US military also does day-month-year :)
Obama era shovel ready projects....road signs.... somebody raked in millions with road sign contracts.
Sounds funny, but seriously, instead of fixing roads up...they just added thousands in new signs.
And the non working Obama care web site...millions for a simple web site.
(That didn't work well.)
Yep lot of money laundering there too.
Book deals, art work are the preferred methods of paying kickbacks; justified as legit! Think about a banana on tape! If you don't understand, keep digging!
So they sent out a confusing curriculum for students (my daughter was one of them) which was ridiculous just to line the pockets of Kenyan Obama and his cronies. Messing with our kids once again. Common core is stupid BS.
It was developed by the states. The National Governors Association was the big driver.
Background
A report in 1983 came out saying American schools were mediocre and we we needed higher standards.
So states started writing standards.
Their own standards. But they weren't coordinated. So a 5th grader in Tennessee might be doing different work from a 5th grader in Texas.
And if you moved to a new state your kids might be behind or learning stuff they already learned. Lots of folks said we should standardize so kids are better prepare for college and for careers. It took decades but people finally started moving on this in the 2000s. The US had highest rate of higher educarion in the world. By 2007 we were 14th.
In 2008 a big report on benchmarks was released showing the US was 25th in the world in Math and 21st in Science. In 2009 a national.meeting occurred and they agreed to develop the Common Core.
In 2009, the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers coordinated the Common Core State Standards Initiative among the states. They were assisted by Achieve, Inc., a nonprofit entity created by governors and business leaders in 1996. The governor and chief state school officer of every state except Alaska and Texas signed a memorandum agreeing to participate in this historic effort to establish rigorous, common academic standards across the states.
All I need to know is this…. the money thrown at DOE has increased exponentially but the scores have plummeted and somebody is getting wealthy from it while we have a society of young adults that can’t count .87 in coins. This is no different than the number of childhood vaccines and the cost of “healthcare” increases. Meanwhile, childhood illness increases and health diminishes quicker than ever in history. I’m sure it’s all a coincidence.

I found a ton of articles saying this OP was true. I also remember reading it as it happened.
Corruption and laundering exists.
Ok show us something that shows this is true

We all are aware of how the payoff money laundering thing works. It is a corrupt world.
Or it is just coincidences. Over and over again.
It’s called kickbacks.
Paybacks, payoffs, bribes, kickbacks, money laundering; fraud to the American taxpayer no matter what you call it.
It didn't happen see my other comment
We need to back all of this Common Core shit out.
Cool, enough for a thousand hot dog parties.
Yep.. I've been saying this since 8 years ago... we need to keep telling everyone.. they're not getting away with this

10% for the big Zero!
washy washy
ACK’ers take offense to this post title. They have a house in Martha’s Vineyard. “Have you ever been to Nantucket? It’s beautiful.” IYKYK
This should be illegal-kickbacks!
It is!!
Why is the date like that? 26 Dec 19
I looked at the actual tweet and the replies are 27 Dec 19 with "Q sent me"
Just being curious
It's the European way of doing dates. They do day-month-year.
Americans do month-day-year
Ah, so you think it might be 2019 but the European twitter just does the last two digits? That would make sense. US military also does day-month-year :)
Definitely a 2019 tweet
When it was posted doesn't change the fact that Obama took a HUGE kickback. And now America's children can't do math.
I know that. I'm just curious as to the why of the date. Obama wasn't even heard of in the 1990s so I don't know what the 19 means in 26 Dec 19
soooo... 20% for the Big Mike and his little friend?

The most profitable business right now is child trafficking. That's how people are getting rich.
So they sent out a confusing curriculum for students (my daughter was one of them) which was ridiculous just to line the pockets of Kenyan Obama and his cronies. Messing with our kids once again. Common core is stupid BS.
Pearson did not develop it
For the sake of time, do we know who did? It was still a money laundering scheme that also caused our children to learn a ludicrous math system.
It had nothing to do with money laundering. Zero.
It was developed by the states. The National Governors Association was the big driver.

"But it's easier with large numbers!"

Why do judges with mortgages have them paid off every 6 months, then it repeats?
Circle jerk.
