Look at the Southeast. With the exception of Florida, it's becoming Little India. I visited my parents in Virginia a couple of years ago and spent the week there, and I noticed that the grocery stores were full of Indian food. It was so odd. But they're catering to their customers.

Same. I'm a nurse and have worked with many Filipinos, often many of the nurses were related, but I never felt left out. If anything they went out of their way to include me. I generally found them to be polite, intelligent and very nice to work with.

This is always the problem when the pendulum swings too far in one direction and we are trying to rectify it, someone will try to swing it too far in the opposite direction. Hopefully most people here understand why they want us divided and how now to let that happen
I don't give that metaphor any credence. "The pendulum" doesn't exist. It is always about the state of society. That can get better or worse, but there are no "Better" or "Worse" parties. Socialism is always a disaster, be it national or international, fascist or communist. Corruption is always a disaster, be it political, economic, or cultural. Christianity, Constitutionalism, and Capitalism have always been our saving graces. How far could Trump go? Maybe to restore us to the nation we had near the beginning. That doesn't seem like a bad place to be, in my eyes.
Sadly (I think), most people are maybe aware of the symptoms of the problem, but the source of the problem is still unclear to many. That's where the rest of us must fill in the gaps. If all goes well, the length of Trump's term will pull out all the squealing rats from beneath their rocks for all the world to admire.

This is a good question. Jesus' form of Christianity, no. Any other warped version -yes. If we took Jesus words to their extreme, it would vastly improve our world, especially the Sermon on the Mount.

It is possible for a priesthood to imagine they are the arbiters of Christ and impose a dictatorship. That is why the Reformation emerged as a reaction against the Catholic Church. I don't recall that happening in the Orthodox or Coptic churches.

I don't think so. From my observations as a one-time (40-years) atheist, I see the wholesale abandonment of Christianity. The "secular" culture is simply atheism in practice. We have so little "Christian society" it is pathetic, and we have no one to blame except ourselves.

You still don't get it. Once people have thrown off Christ, they don't need anyone to "control" them in their subsequent career of sin and lies. Not the fault of immigrants that Americans have allowed their heritage to be given away like a pot of beans. This was always in our control, but we decided the couch was better than the political campaign, stayed home, and let the activists seize the reins of power. Now we want to shoot the messenger. Better to get off our butts and be vocal and active in support of the America we want to have. I have very low patience and respect for low-energy carpers. I ran into a lot of this in union politics, where a mostly conservative union was run by a mostly liberal-Democrat council. Every time I asked a conservative member to run for a vacant council seat, the response was, "Me? God forbid! I don't want to have anything to do with that." Just because one won't participate does not prevent weasels from taking the available positions. Freedom is not a battle. It is like a farm, requiring continual tilling, cultivation, and weeding. When you decide to turn your back on this hard, unrelenting work, it will become a battle.
Sorry. Most of the Cubans coming here are fleeing, and I've met plenty who want to get on the path to be citizens, and who care about maintaining freedom here. Let's remove the illegal enterers, not just presume all of them are.
