It has. I was there a decade ago, and stepping off the train I thought "Am I in the right place? This looks like Baghdad!"... Paris was a shithole way back then... has only gotten worse.
I was there a decade before you and it was nice. You could go anywhere and not feel uncomfortable. I even got to see Notre Dame before Obama decided to burn it down.

I don’t hate the Palestinians. Them and Israel have been at war for more than fifty years. People die in war. They should have finished the job on October 7.
They didn’t and I don’t blame Israel for doing what they have done since. I’ve seen the classrooms where the Palestinians teach their children to hate Israel. I’ve seen the parents teach their children to throw rocks at Israelis.
From my perspective, the only way for this to end is for one to obliterate the other, and I don’t have a dog in the fight.

I visited Paris in 2014 and it was right before the invasion. I walked down the Champs-Elysees without the mattresses clogging it up

I’m glad I visited a France a couple of times before the 3rd world invasion. I went in the early 70’s when it was still populated by the French. I was in college at the time but went with my parents and a few siblings.
I returned in the early 90’s with my husband while he was on a business trip and we brought our daughter who was 8 at the time. I knew how to get around town after being there before and took my kid and another wife of the group out sightseeing. There were very few if any immigrants in France back then and it was safe to travel the streets.
France is no more.
We should relocate millions of French to the states!
