But the lies never do. It could be 1000 years and our government would still do everything it can to admit it had ever lied about anything.
My guess is because she was on a secret mission to photograph Japanese positions in the south pacific. Her entire public story on her flight was probably a carefully crafted native feed to the world. Just my opinion with no proof of anything.

Potentially? That she was alive and tortured for years by the Japanese government and the US government let an American hero sit and rot in their torture camps. All while lying that they had no idea what had happened to her. That's a pretty big deal.
I'm sure when you start pulling on these threads, it leads to other lies. Such as a rumored stand down order to allow Japan to hit Pearl Harbor because the US Government wanted the American people to be behind us entering the war. The lies are practically never ending.

Yeah, I'm a little frightened about what it might reveal since it's so out of left field and off the radar.
I have been asked by many people about the life and times of Amelia Earhart, such an interesting story, and would I consider declassifying and releasing everything about her, in particular, her last, fatal flight! She was an Aviation Pioneer, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, and achieved many other Aviation “firsts.” She disappeared in the South Pacific while trying to become the first woman to fly around the World. Amelia made it almost three quarters around the World before she suddenly, and without notice, vanished, never to be seen again. Her disappearance, almost 90 years ago, has captivated millions. I am ordering my Administration to declassify and release all Government Records related to Amelia Earhart, her final trip, and everything else about her. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Was Amelia on a Mission for the government?
That has long been a theory. People surmise she was spying on the Japanese. I think the very direction her flight took was the reverse of what had been publicized.

I have also heard that she was a mediocre pilot who was always crashing planes. Her being a woman pilot is what brought her fame, not her actual skill.
We were just at Pearl Harbor, and there was a plaque commemorating the place where she taxied out of the hanger and crashed. Seriously. Didn't even get off the ground. I have heard other stories of how she wasn't a good pilot at all, that her co-pilot did most of the work and she just took the credit since she was a woman. My daughter flies planes, and now knowing what I know through her training, I just don't think Earhardt was a good pilot.
I have had encounters with a world-renowned adventurer and can confirm that tales of skill and bravery are not to be trusted. Money and connections can easily position people for false honor.

Ok, I'll toss a couple theories out there for an autist fest. So, for him to bring this up: #1, Amelia kinda looked like a guy. We know the satanists like doing the gender crossing BS. If so, then so much for the "first woman across the Atlantic.". Needs verification. #2, Wasn't there a Japanese prince that stole China's gold, had some engineers build a tunnel on an island to hide it in, then blew up the tunnel entrance with them in it? Did Amelia find out or know the location on this? #3, "Night at the Museum, Battle for the Smithsonian" had an Amelia Earhart character in it. Check her part in the script, almost guaranteed the satanists did an "in your face" line to give it away.
I don't know, just a gut feel on these.

I would love to have some pedes chime in and say what they think happened to her. Did she run out of gas? Did she land somewhere and was taken prisoner? Did she have some sort of dealings with the government and was tossed aside because the government didn't want her talking. Come on Pedes....let's hear your theories.
No Government connections I know of. Beyond the obligatory obvious ones due to her fame.
Reportedly she wasn’t actually all that exceptional a pilot either. Just average. If a bit careless and reckless. And was exceptionally green to boot when she made the attempt. But due to her high profile disappearance. People tend to gloss over that.
Though allegedly she had a Briefcase of private documents she explicitly requested be destroyed if anything should happen to her. Which would indicate a few secrets.
You know how when a female comic appears and the media is so desperate to push her, that even though she has no real skill or seasoning yet suddenly she’s doing hour long comedy sets and is given her own tv show, etc. All unearned. Or they do the same with female athletes, musicians. Or even the desperation to find a gay athlete to push as the next great voice and hero. Thus was Amelia Earhart. If anything, the media’s need for a female aviation hero pushed her to her own death. Nothing more than the Danica Patrick of her day.

Devine argues that Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, did not crash and sink near Howland Island, as often believed. Instead, he claims they landed (or were forced to land) on Saipan, a Japanese-held island before and during WWII, were captured, and eventually killed. He alleges that U.S. government and military sources have suppressed this story.
Devine asserts that the Japanese considered Earhart and Noonan spies. According to Devine, after landing, they were taken in, imprisoned, and eventually executed. He uses testimonies such as from Mrs. Michiko Sugita, whose father (a police official) allegedly told of Earhart’s execution.
