I can’t believe that rino Senator from Maine nuked the proof of citizenship! Allowing a state ID as proof??? In my state that is the drivers license ends up as ID and they allow foreign national’s in the US illegally to get a driver’s license. The licenses do say they are “not real ID,” but a person has to show ID to prove legal age to buy a bottle of wine and all the stores accept the “not real ID” driver’s license. My driver’s license for Oregon has printed on it “not real ID.” The only thing that the “not real ID” driver’s license prevents you from doing in Oregon is flying on a commercial airliner.
I have a regular DL, but not the star ID (is what my state calls it & it's needed to fly), but I have other proof of citizenship, so the DMV said not a big deal to get the star ID until my DL is ready to be renewed 🤷♀️ We hardly ever fly anyway.
Unless all people within a State are required to get a REAL ID through your state what stops illegals with the “not starred” ID in your state from voting?
Well, to get a regular ID (even before star ID's were a thing) you had to show proof of birth certificate. I'm already a registered voter, but I also have a spouse military ID if they were to need another proof of who I am.
Alabama doesn't allow immigrants to get a state ID or DL without proof of citizenship or proof they are allowed to be in the US. Alabama is not a friendly state for illegals, though we still have them here, though not as many as before. They are either leaving on their own or being round up and sent back.
The illegals have been generating fake social security cards & driver’s licenses. Didn’t DOGE discover something like 3 million social security numbers were given to illegals. It is all so disheartening.
Thats It. Thats the whole reason for the real id. Its to use AI to see who votes and who dosn't so that they can use the non voters to vote in elections. You get it? Its a way to verify like on fb or x you get verified so now they know its you and they can compare it to voter rolls. There are millions who do not vote and they know this. so they use AI to guess who wont vote so that they can ghost vote their names.
I'm good with burning the whole thing to the ground and going back to the good ole days except the fact that I have Family that live states away. The telephone and the Automobile are great tools. Then I can go further and say I love this I phone. I can see and talk to them like they are right here. Man o Man how we have become dependent upon technology. And to think Abraham Lincoln had to have a License to Tend Bar. Yep, he was the only President to have a Bartenders License.
Theres something more to this than we know. Im getting that feeling. ID REal ID not real ID? Only to be able to fly? The Government cares more about who can get on a plane than they do about who is coming through our border or who went to pedoophile island. Something more sinister is going on with these ID's
She didn't really say she backed it. She only said she was still reviewing it but that it looked favorable with the changes made. She said it was a work in progress. So, I will only get excited when it actually passes.
Wonder what changes were made? Why would changes be needed in a bill that says you have to be a legal citizen & have ID to prove it, to vote in US elections?
Collins mentioned that she thought it should only be necessary to prove citizenship when first registering to vote and not for every Federal election. Not sure about any other changes. But she made it sound like there were some other issues that were being worked out. Even though she did not firmly commit, it sounds like she may be leaning that way.
Proving citizenship only once sounds an awful lot like, “okay we’ll have fair elections for just these midterms, and then in 2028 we can go back to, “trust us Bro, only citizens are voting…”
I get your point. Without a doubt, we need some major overhauling to the system. But, I don't despise small beginnings as long as we are moving in the right direction. We may have to make some concessions to get this over the finish line. I think by at least getting some guardrails on the system it may be enough to finally show some glaring discrepancies from previous elections that will need to be addressed.
Requiring proof of citizenship upon registration and showing ID to vote in Federal elections is something we have been screaming be done for years. So far, it appears those elements remains intact in the bill. I would see no problem on a compromise of registration proof of citizenship be done every certain number of years or election cycles. That would also act as a safeguard for dead voters or people that have moved out of the area. I agree with you in that respect and I don't think it should be upon initial registration only. There needs to be periodic checks just to keep everyone honest, right - especially the Dems. I would hope that this option would be part of the discussions.
Not even. If OP is right and it's only when "first registering" to vote, then only first-time voters would be required to provide proof of citizenship, which is a tiny fraction.
I think she is playing a game. I saw a story on OAN just now (Sat afternoon) talking about her saying she would support the Save America Act - as long as the part about proving citizenship for every election was taken out. Ok - lines up so far. Then they said something I hadn't heard yet. She doesn't support removing the filibuster or requiring a standing filibuster.
Is it just me or did she force them to pull a part of the bill out to get her vote, and then basically back out by saying she doesn't support the standing filibuster or removing it altogether? She never intended to vote for the bill - someone used her to ensure it would NOT pass. She knows the bill can't pass either without 60 yes votes, or without the filibuster and needing 50+1 votes.
Every election you can count on one of the same 3 old women to screw it up for us. Susan Collins (ME), Lisa Murkowski (AK), and Lindsey Graham (SC).
When I first saw the list there were a couple names on there that I felt certain would be backing the Save Act. I thought at the time they may have come out against it just to see how many traitors would get the courage to announce.
Susan Collins wasn't one of those I expected to back the legislation. In fact she did exactly what I expected. I think once she put her name out there; she got shown the evidence, and told to play ball or else.
Just playing devils advocate here but do we really want to give the federal government control over elections? is this gonna come back to bite us in the ass when the next socialist communist democrat is elected president?
Learned people here saw McConnel turned after 30 years insisting on it. Of course, while not DOING anything about it.
If the Dems want to be seen as supportive lower side of another 20%-80% issue who cares to stop them?
While the Reps CAN pass the SAVE act here. They won't.
Great if true. One problem I see is if it isn't codified by CONgress there will be several judges waiting to smack an executive order down. They may wait a few weeks to do it so the timing is such that an injunction will stop it for the start of the primaries.
Of course that also means it could get an expedited look from SCOTUS, but who knows how they would rule.
Ideally the Save America Act makes it through. The executive order is an "ok" option if the law doesn't pass, but it won't make it a day before an injunction is granted.
That's what I want done next - a ruling from SCOTUS saying a single judge doesn't have the authority to issue sweeping and binding orders for anywhere other than their jurisdiction, and something that allows the judges to be removed when they ignore the law or SCOTUS orders.
Our prayers are working; this is big.

you should stop ;)

We needed a good excuse to kill the zombie filibuster, and I believe the Save America Act is the perfect excuse.

Wow! I'm shocked! Happy, but shocked! Now to deal with the democrat filibuster.
What??? Has Hell frozen over?
L. F. G. frogs
Collins funally acted like a conservative. First time. My sisters who love all things feminazi are going to hate her now.

Now they will start giving out fake id's to the illegals to get them to vote. Oh wait, that is already happening.
When I first saw the list there were a couple names on there that I felt certain would be backing the Save Act. I thought at the time they may have come out against it just to see how many traitors would get the courage to announce.

it's only over federal elections, not state and local that's still up to the states.

How does this work? I thought the Filibuster required 60 votes or something along those lines to pass something in the senate?
Trump said if it fails he will sign an exe order.
sweet. I missed that part. Thank you fren and Thank you President Trump.
Yeah thats great news. AAAAAnd it would before the midterms. So they will be protected.

Great points, and I agree.
He should do that anyway if they end up stripping key provisions to get the necessary votes.
Do we have Fetterman?
The J.D. part is pretty RETARDED.
You're account is 13 days old. Might make 2 weeks. kEk
Seems you have been deported before. kEk .Almost 2 weeks huh...
There she is.
What evidence do you actually have to suggest that Vance will NOT vote for the Save Act?
That's a SHILL account. FYI
Seems to be, I have yet to get a reply to a logical question.
They are around. I was just giving you a heads-up fren.
Thanks :)
