The problem with the models from the 90s and into the early 2000s was that in order for them to follow the laws of thermodynamics, they had to have the heat build up somewhere. This build up was supposed to be in the atmosphere and be the "trap" that resembled a greenhouse. When it wasnt realized, they turned to "the arctic will heat faster and then it'll spread from there" because an arctic temperature moving from -15 to -13 is a great way to hide heat that needs to be somewhere. When the prediction of the arctic melting didnt help, they then decided that the oceans were suddenly absorbing all of the heat that "should" be killing us.
Best of all, the doom and gloom predictions were of changes of 4C by 2100.
So your 50f degree day would be 59f. And somehow, the change of less than it changes every single day from dawn to dusk would absolutely destroy us.

The overall weather across the country is pretty good but when your local weather dude says " tomorrow it will be chilly and rainy" and it turns out I t to be hot and sunny, well, something is wrong.
