I'm assuming you are referencing physical positions for the given specific avatar,
example:
but with that are you also using scaling? like:
have you checked if the scaling is breaking as the coordinates stop lining up (proportionality being lost)? May want to double check/recalculate positions based on the scaled size.
especially if you don't have consistent sized avatars, that'll throw off super fast.
I'll see if I can give a more honest dig into it tomorrow.

Literally nuts. Wanna know what the "innovation" was? ALL THE AVATARS ARE IN ONE IMAGE. The CSS just "scope-jumps it around" for each avatar. No more individual calls. I wish I was that clever!

I am still having an issue where I press the image to preview it and instead of opening it straight away, it opens it then minimises it momentarily, before eventually showing the image.

Are you sure? I use firefox on an android phone (desktop mode) and some time ago noticed that things changed, and I couldn't vote on posts at all (the button was gone). Turning off desktop mode isn't a serious option, and the only way I could get full functionality back was to turn off community styling. Looks the same to me today as it did when I first noticed the change.
I don’t know for sure if this is related but it seems like I no longer need to re-sign in every time when accessing from my iPhone. If so then thank you!
