I saw yesterday a clip about incandescents. They produce a red wavelength which is good for our mitochondria dna. The LEDS do not have the red light and is bad for us. No shocker there. I bought boxes and boxes of them when Bush jr signed off on getting rid of them. My main purpose was because I hate the light LED’s produce.
FWIW, you can get LED's that produce red wavelength. They are labeled as full-spectrum LED, sold at pet stores (especially ones that specialize in fish and reptiles) specialty lighting places and online. The light quality feels better.
I've been a teacher for more than 3 decades now and something I've realized is that students learn best when the classroom is lit by incandescent bulbs. Maybe 15 years ago, I saw some academic studies attesting to this and explaining how the different types of light waves from LED, fluorescent, and incandescent bulbs all affect the brain differently.
I know school districts want to pinch pennies and yes, fluorescent and LED bulbs are cheap, but the social benefits of a better educated and mentally stable workforce far outweigh cost concerns about light bulbs.
How many people have died on the roads after being blinded by those 5000k headlights heading your way? The police used to write tickets for glaring headlights.
Bought a whole supply of them before they went away. Don't have any LED bulbs. I took a meter to one once and was blown away by the amount of microwave energy those damn things put out. Street lamps are the same. I feel sorry for people that live right on top of them - especially when they are right next to where someone sleeps. Such a farce and a rip off.
I remember when they introduced LED lights at baseball stadiums, the outfielders were dropping baseballs left and right because they were blinded by the new LED lights.
I need the small amount of heat produced by incandescent bulbs during the colder months. Found a 2 pk on Amazon and paid an outrageous amount for them. First one died in 2 weeks. It was so nice to be able to pick them up cheap anywhere that sold bulbs. Government does a great job of making us poorer and inconvenienced.
He also needs to reverse the regulations on portable air conditioners. They have this stupid feature now where the fan shuts on and off when the compressor does. Also stop letting DuPont or whoever have so much control over the refrigerant. Make ACs cold again and screw the enviro-Nazis who don’t want us keeping our homes at 60 degrees.
Yea they’re pulsing at the wave frequency of the AC. If you don’t otherwise see it turn your head quickly or take a quick high speed video with your phone.
Similar to how gaming monitors are 120hz+++ but for Word work laptops 60hz limps on.
I thought Trump had rescinded the ban on incandescent lights when he was last in office
Or did Biden reverse it.
I also want them to get of water restricted shower heads. I have two kinds of shower heads in my shower. One is a body side spray I paid extra to buy and have installed but I can’t use both at once and even the shower head in our master gives out too little water pressure. We’ve had a plumber over several to tones to see if he can fix it to no avail.
I still have a stash of 60 watt bulbs to replace our reading lamps. I have high ceilings and ended up having to get LED can lights for them. I’m too old to be climbing up tall ladders. But I told them I wanted the kind that looked natural rather than the bright white neon kind. I believe they are called soft white
When we built this house in 2015 i ended up putting in chandeliers in my bathrooms, kitchen and halls bc they were still selling the incandescent chandelier lights. But they are hard to find now, too
**further research tells me-yes, as I previously stated, you can get incandescent bulbs from Amazon as I have. However apparently it's from existing stock, so when that's gone it's gone.
Also it seems there are certain bulbs that are still being made as incandescent, but they're "specialty" bulbs, such as Edison style which is what I have.

Me too! I probably have about 50 left.
I just ran out and had to explore the light bulb dept for the first time. Expensive nightmare.

As mentioned blue light free and flicker free.

Red light good. Blue light bad. Your phone also produces blue light. Blue light background can be changed to red in settings.

Yep. Overhead lights off, curtains open and a few well- placed lamps with incandescent bulbs changes the classroom.

i still use the old Sodium street lights on my Property's,much easier on the eyes.
I hate those LEDs. Don't like driving at night because of them. The headlights are also bad for the eyes.
LED lighting implicated in insect die off as well.

We stocked up back in 2010 and are still using our incandescents!
Good thing I went out and bought a lifetime supply right before they were banned
Comfy AF

I only have incandescent bulbs. They still sell them.
40 watts only
I have 60w and they're available on Amazon
Thank you
Check your state - they won't ship to some (stupid states).
Where?
Amazon
Thanks fren
I looked far and wide because LEDs really bother my eyes.
👍🏻
I didn’t realize that the LEDs had a flicker quality to them. What wattage of incandescent are you able to purchase?
I got 40w and 60w
Noice!

I've seen them at dollar stores from time to time as well.
from dark to light, support this, and full spectrum incandescent bulbs too
Agreed, and Remy of Reason made a whole parody of the problem: I'll Be Missing You!

I'm always searching for incandescent bulbs. I'm a bit old fashioned but I prefer the warm glow. Bring 'em back!
This is actual fascism. There are many such examples.
I have seen with my own eyes that florescent bulbs brought on seizures and migraines in my coworkers.

Yes incandescent needs to be available and also a trivial search at local hardware store shows LED 60w for $0.27 each.
No government mandates!
Yes, please! The other ones catch on fire!
