My 17 year old son has been having health problems we have been trying to chase down for the better part of a year. After many referrals, many tests and my dead ends, we think we finally have a correct diagnosis of pppd (Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness) -a disorder tha appears is going to be a nightmare to deal with and has potential to affect him for the rest of his life. We could use your the prayers of you wonderful people.

Hello fren , I have BPPV . Crystals in ear .. the other day I was unable to care for my special needs daughter for about an hour. Out of no where as I was walking to her room it knocked me into the couch, where I sat for an hour trying to calmly get over it . Its so messed up! The 'particle repositioning maneuver' (or Epley Maneuver) is done with various methods. Here is one:
I can tell you first hand this maneuver works. It may have to be done 2 to 3 times before you see results. It's very disorienting at first so do not worry.
We find you do it 1 or 2 times the 1st day. Then one or two times the second day, and that should be all you need.
Depending on activity, you may have to do it once every 6 to 18 months as the crystals move around.
Not the same although the symptoms overlap. He has done the exercises to remove the crystals and it did not work.

Just curious - I know nothing of the disorder - but is there any concussion history?
No concussion history and I am not aware of a link (although I know very little about pppb) - apparently it can happen after bad viral infections. He was very sick for several months, and this appears to be left over.

Please keep that in mind, if they recommend heavy drugs without exactly knowing the CAUSE of his symptoms. I am very cautious with drug referrals, and to say the least am not a fan of ssri's (which seem to be a treatment of this disorder) - I will be paying very close attention.

If you haven't yet, perhaps try chiropractic, acupuncture, and/or Chinese medicine. These alternative modes of treatment have many decades to many centuries of experience in actually treating illnesses and their cause(s), as opposed to allopathic "medicine", which usually only attempts to lessen symptoms (with fistsful of expensive and potentially harmful drugs).

We can pray, and God does answer the prayers of his people, but God moves quicker when individuals that are involved directly are obedient by faith, not to mention that individuals who are involved (in that which they ask for prayer) can themselves nullify the prayer of others, by their actions and their words. We have a dilemma. We ask God to heal the sick, but God already told us (Mark 11:16) "Go in my name and lay our hands on the sick and THEY SHALL recover" In other words: We have a habit of asking God for more, when we haven't done what he already told us to do.. In (Luke 9:46) Jesus said "Why do you call me Lord and do not what I tell you to do?" Do you see it: Jesus is saying, If I am indeed Lord then go, in my name and lay your hands on the sick and they shall recover. Is it because we don't know or is it because it seems too simple (to be true) that we don't do what Jesus said to do? I know that what I'm saying seems insensitive, but it is anything but that. Simone and I have 8 children, six boys and two girls, so as a parent we know what it's like, when Satan attacks our children with sickness. But we are not victims in this world, God says we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus who loved us and gave himself for us. Christ has given us HIS NAME to use, the apostles understood this, to the man at the beautiful gate, the Apostle said to the man in need,Silver and Gold we have not, BUT SUCH AS WE HAVE in the NAME of the Lord Jesus be healed, and the man was healed. Derek and my daughter were later married, and when we were talking about grandchildren, Derek mentioned that the specialist has said, that because of the leukemia he would never be able to have children. We said Derek, do you think that the God who healed you of leukemia cannot give you children? So we prayed over Derek laying hands on him, that he might receive children, we have two grandchildren now, Ivy and Keaton.(Doctors do not have the last say God does) This is one example of many, I could testify of, where we simply laid hands on the sick, and watched them recover. In (Philippians 2:9) it says that "God gave Jesus"a name above every name" THAT MEANS that the name of Jesus is ABOVE the name "Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness" Therefore, lay your hands on your son, and command PPPD to leave your Son, and God's healing to replace it, command this in, in Jesus name. My husband had BPPV and was cured in one visit to Dr James Atkins in Celebration, Fl. He walked into the office, described his symptoms, was dx'ed with BPPV, was treated in a machine right then and walked out cured. This was probably 10+ years ago and he has had no more symptoms. The machine put him through different maneuvers and positions. I That is the cure I spoke about in my previous comment. Truly a miraculous machine.

No idea what is name of machine- it obviously is made for this problem. The patient sits in it and a computer is programmed to move the machine around (upside down, etc like a roller coaster). There are probably newer, more improved machines now. I'm just reporting what my husband described to me

There are bppv specific excercises to clear the crystals. Our doctor gave us a printout and my son did them for a few weeks. If you'd like I will see if we still have the sheet and I can post a copy for you.
