Sen. Rand Paul Slams Supreme Court’s Ruling Upholding Birthright Citizenship, Introduces Constitutional Amendment to End It for ...
Senator Rand Paul expressed his strong disappointment Tuesday after the Supreme Court ruled to uphold birthright citizenship and strike down President Donald…
Good luck with this, passing a Constitutional amendment is a heavy lift.
Nevertheless, it is a lift worth lifting.
Absolutely!
It will never happen. Rand Paul already knows that. Or he never would have introduced it.
Interesting.
Interesting if he votes for his own bill...
He typically gets his earmarks in and votes against the bill.
Hopefully the next congress can get this done.
It's not done in Congress, a new amendment has to pass 2/3's of states. It's takes a long time to get an amendment passed.
The first step is a 2/3 vote in congress.
Then ratification.
Uh...yeah... is it 3/5 of the states?
3/4 of the states. Starts in congress and then go's to the states.
Yeah, sorry, I'm groggy from an afternoon nap, wasn't tracking... knew it was SOMETHING like that.
2/3rds of congress can propose a specific amendment, 3/4s of states can ratify the specific amendment or bypass congress and send delegates to make changes independently of legislators.
Need 310 votes in House. 66 votes in the Senate and then 39 states.
Like I said at first, a heavy lift.
Somehow they passed the 16'th amendment on income tax in 1913, making slaves of us all.
Yet somehow they easily passed an amendment to allow American citizens to be taxed directly by the federal government. That boggles my mind.
Ah, but DID they? There are some who deny that the income tax amendment was never fully ratified. Not being a Constitutional scholar myself, I'm not absolutely certain about that, but I have read many sources claiming that that amendment was never fully ratified.
Well, right - either they passed it legitimately without any vibrant debate / controversy, or it was a scam.
Trump carried 31 states. 38 needed for an amendment. This will not happen under current circumstances. It’s a waste of time. A virtue signal. Worthless
Exactly
With those 5 rhinos this is not going anywhere, it is bull
There’s already been legislation on the docket since 2025. Though it’s been stuck in Committee hell.
Also there’s no way in hell he’ll get both Congress and enough State Legislatures onboard with it to push through a Constitutional Amendment. He’s also been on Capitol Hill long enough that I also don’t believe he legitimately believes it has a chance to pass as an amendment.
Which would lead one to the logical assumption it’s just another performative stunt. So he can pat himself on the back and run a campaign ad about being “The principled Conservative/Libertarian”
He can raise money on it.
Yeah well...Rand ain't no Ron Paul that's for sure
Almost like maga was prepared for this. I still stand by what I've been saying. This years midterms are gonna be the most important. Trumps teams are shaving away the fraud in most places. Hopefully enough by the time election month happens. I would safely assume, anything but a maga wave is a fail.
Would it be easier to just rescind the 14th Amendment? At least they wouldn't be haggling over wording as much. Just pattern it after the one that ended Prohibition. I think that passed in a year and a half because pretty much everybody wanted it.
My point is that basically saying "Rescind the 14th Amendment", in legalese, of course, is a lot easier than coming up with new language that everybody has to fight over.
amendments were passed without the States in Rebellion after the Civil War, a lot can be done after the Midterms - the war against the American people will be resolved! Congressional Resolutions and Red State adoptions of constitutional amendments can be happening soon with the Great Awakening!
Never going to happen.

FWIW, I didn't comment under RedNonna's thread.
She doesn't create posts with links to far left websites....

I'm a she and I tried to delete. Must be my internet - or this site. It wasn't saving so I pushed save 3 times and then they all appeared and it wouldn't delete.
Good luck
But seriously, good luck! It could happen, with no Democrat not named Fetterman, if victory margins were big enough - gotta beat the RINOs too.
A patriot can dream, can't he
What I'm hearing is that our government is very broken and not functional as serving the people of America.
Taxes are extracting our value and being given to foreigners and people on gov payroll that hate the American way.
It makes the point.
Definitely, it will never happen.........😕
To pass this, they’ll need both 2/3 of the vote in both the House and Senate which won’t happen. If they get those two supermajorities, then they’ll still have to get 3/4 of the state legislatures. How many illegals will give birth here before that happens?
