Atheist here. I honestly don’t think about it. From my perspective, you worship an imaginary friend. Simple as that.
I had an imaginary friend many years ago. It was comforting. I eventually realized I was talking to myself.
What is the point of being an atheist? Is it to prove to yourself that you don't need a spiritual connection? And if so. What is the benefit of that?
I never grew up religious and went to friends churches a couple of times. I thought it was kinda cheesy. But, ive always had my own strong spiritual connection for some reason. I believe in God, ive asked him for help, and that is enough. I dont need 18 different teachings for me to understand that there is a hidden spiritual energy out there. For me, Id rather use that energy for guidance rather than dismiss it. I realizd that outright dismissing it may be a weakness. Its why I feel our side is so much more powerful than the left, who worship lesser beings to god like Baal, Moloch, ect, instead. We are the side of righteousness for a reason and thats because we have the spiritual strength of god over them and nothing or no one is stronger than THE god and the power he can give you if you accept him.
I have to say after walking through the Milan Cathedral, that whatever/whoever built that place had the power of god within them because its one of the most incredible things ive ever seen. One thing I loved was this huge statue of St.Johns thrown I believe, and his Arch angel Michael slaying Lucifer next to him. It to me, represented the spiritual force for good, keeping the ghouls (evil spirits) from taking over, and using God's spiritual power to supress and punish them. I also thought it was pretty funny. You might not see it or feel it or even care about it now, but if you are ever in just a shitty situation and cant figure what to do. Just quietly look up and ask god for help. You might be surprised. I know I was.

It's actually really simple. You cannot explain it because you have the morals of man and don't believe in Jesus dying for our sins.

I hear that, but reality is also an illusion. And be careful don't get perception confused with reality either. So much of what we read and hear is false perception skewed as reality to make it seem like your reality is broken, see democrats and how they fall for propaganda so much which shapes their own reality and influences them to do bad things.
Imagine being in prison, sitting there day in and day out. Its a pretty crummy reality. But if those men can find god within them, it can change their entire mentality to help them find salvation and direction while trapped in a box. If you can get past the single dimension of reality and try to feel the spiritual connection, youll be guided in better directions and have more insight on the illusion called reality.
A lot of folks want this personal spiritual connection to help their children lead a moral life and not fall pray to powers of evil and corruption that seemingly find all of us at some point. That is the left side of the sculpture. With the power of god and good morals behind them, they'll choose not to rob their neighbors with their friends. With no morals or fear of god, they will rob their neighbors and eventually ruin their lives when they get caught. That to me is why some sort of spirituality is important even if you are reluctant to acknowledge it.
I believed in God. Said my prayers every night until I went in the Army in the 90s. I just asked myself, why am I doing this? God isn't real. There is no way to prove it, and the fact that there are many religions and Gods, and every one of them thinks their God is real and everyone else's is fake says everything. You don't have to believe in any God to be a good person.
What matters is believing in the highest form of god there could be, the creator of millions of universes. Thats pretty powerful wouldnt you say, and thats who gives you power of strong spiritual vision. Religion is merely a construct. You dont have to follow the words of other men to feel god, or even read the Bible, IMO. Its just about your spiritual reality.
Of course you dont have to believe in anything to be a good person, however, as I just explained in my last post to the other guy just before your comment, it helps children become better persons because they dont understand the evil in this world yet. If they have a good moral foundation and fear of god, they will not rob their neighbors house with their friends. If they dont, many will succumb to the peer pressure of evil and rob the house, then get caught and ruin their lives without understanding really even what they did. That is what the left side of sculpture represents. Not falling for evil and being lifted towards your spiritual connection that helps you guide to better choices and understanding in life.
Just remember that spirituality is your own personal connection and thats what should guide you. Following this relgion or that religion is merely IMO, a construct formed by man to help people find meaning or find god or help their kids find a moral foundation. But its not the direct spiritual connection for man. You have to find that yourself. Like you said, so many different ones, I think thats why so many get confused and scarred of religion which fractures their understanding of spirituality. You dont have to be religious to find the spiritual power of god. Thats the way I am. Never went to church. Never read the Bible. I just choose to believe in god and thats what gives me spiritual power and strenght over the illusion of reality.
I'm not saying believing in God or teaching your children to believe is a bad thing. I agree that people that grow up believing in God turn out to be good people. I'm just saying that I stopped believing because I have never found proof. Maybe if that proof would show up in my life, I might change my mind but for now I choose to not believe and just be a good person.

Ernst Haeckel was an avid supporter of Darwin and his naturalistic theory of evolution. In haste to further the cause along, Haeckel drew depictions of embryos with a clear deceptive slant to indicate a common ancestry. He drew embryos “transitioning” in stages from fish, to amphibian, to mammal. His drawings helped the narrative of the descent of species; However, the drawings were discovered to be massively and intentionally deceptive. Shockingly, despite such deliberate scientific fraud, Haeckel’s drawings continue to adorn biology textbooks as supporting evidence for evolution.

The idea was so convincing, that despite the known fraud the drawing are, the images of embryo evolution perpetuates into most biology textbooks even into modern day.
From 1994 Textbook published by Miller & Levine Continued to publish this known fraud of Haeckel Many textbook publishers conceal the deception by illustrating the drawings while writing a mild disclaimer that such images were “misrepresentations” of actual embryo’s and perhaps show a more modern photo of an embryo. However, they going on to completely validate the very premise the fraudulent drawing illustrated!
As an example: Miller & Levine later revised their 1994 textbook and removed the drawings and added photos of embryos but wrote: “Darwin and his contemporaries knew that early embryos of many animals look nearly identical and that the earliest stages of development in “lower” animals seem to be repeated in the development of “higher” animals such as ourselves (Fig. 8.15). Darwin realized that the similar developmental paths followed by animal embryos make sense if all of us evolved long ago from common ancestors through a series of lengthy evolutionary changes...The earliest stages of the embryos life, therefore, are essentially “locked in,” whereas cells and tissues that are produced later can change more freely without harming the organism. As species with common ancestors evolve over time, divergent sets of successful evolutionary changes accumulate as development proceeds, but early embryos stick more closely to their original appearance.” Joseph S. Levine & Kenneth R. Miller, Biology: Discovering Life, pg. 162 [2nd Ed., D.C. Heath, 1994]
Miller (publisher of the textbook above) testified that at its peak usage, students in “more than 200 colleges and universities around the country” read…textbooks like this one.
The Dover Trial, Day 1 morning testimony, pg. 41 Haeckel not only changed the drawings by adding, omitting, and changing features but, according to Richardson and his team:
Haeckel also fudged the scale to exaggerate similarities among species, even when there were 10-fold differences in size.”
“Haeckel further blurred differences by neglecting to name the species in most cases, as if one representative was accurate for an entire group of animals”.
Elizabeth Pennisi, Haeckel’s Embryos: Fraud Rediscovered, Science 277(5331):1435, 5 September 1997. An international team collaborated to compare Haeckel’s drawings to actual photographs of embryos because apparently despite the known forgery of the old drawings, no one had yet corrected the data. The team collected embryos from 39 different creatures, including marsupials from Australia, tree-frogs from Puerto Rico, snakes from France, and an alligator embryo from England. They found that the embryos of different species are very different.
In fact, they were so different that the drawings made by Haeckel (of similar-looking human, rabbit, salamander, fish, chicken, etc. embryos), the team concluded that Haeckel’s drawings could not have even been based on any real specimen.

Lots of 'disclosures' these days about ET saying that one line of dinked-with genetics on their part, used ape dna to design modern humans. True? Baloney? Remains to be seen, I suppose. But in regards to human embryos and how they look as they develop into a human for birth, it is not fantasy sci fi that it passes through stages very clearly identical to some non human life forms, and the one that disturbs me the most is the stage where the fetus looks like that of a reptile with a tail. And there is an affliction that some people have, to varying degrees, called ichthyosis (sp), where the skin in various areas but usually the legs develop reptilian-like scales, flat, silvery smooth skin clearly defined. And some people, have tails. Short, but still. Yikes. I have seen it on someone I knew. Creepy shit like that makes one question the deniers of any possible reptilian ET connection in we "designer humans. At any rate, I am getting so tired of the jibber jabber that I really don't care, because we most likely are never, ever, going to get the truth. Certainly not from our fictional science community.

I really strongly suggest that any Christian or anyone even curious about Christianity and their faith, spend a good bit of time researching and reading up on Ken Ham and all the stuff he does & has accomplished. He is so incredibly prolific. He absolutely has been touched by God.
Ken Ham has written dozens of books, opened the Creation Museum, and literally built a life-size Noah's Ark.....!!! It's part of the Creation Museum too, in Kentucky. He runs an extremely active YouTube channel. I literally don't know how the man does it. He's almost like an Australian version of President Trump!! Ha.
Point of all this; the more I read, research, learn and think, the more I'm taken down the path towards creationism, not evolution, "big bang" and crap like that. And his YouTube channels have been a significant force behind my awakening.

And saving the best & biggest for last....... Ken Ham is one of the main forces behind this actual, life-size replica of Noah's Ark.....!!! Ken Ham (and others) built a real, Honest to God, life-size, Noah's Ark, and it operates right now as a museum.

The Bible told Noah to gather two of each KIND of animal, NOT two of EVERY ANIMAL.

Guess what KIND of animal Labradors, golden retrievers, poodles, and Great Danes all are?
