We need some kind of heritage version that has high readability but uses KJV for important passages that are really part of the culture. Nothing is more jarring than reading the Bible and seeing a common cultural reference butchered. You're expecting "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death..." and if you don't get that it is a let down! There are actually many of these.

Not that much silver comes from silver mines, it's mostly a byproduct of other mining. So the price is very often detached from a theoretical silver mine increasing production in response to silver prices. I'm going to guess that $200 is more likely than $20 but both are easily possible.

This actually seems like a synthesis of the lab leak and bat coronavirus theories...

They've finally gotten breast cancer treatment to more of a neutral outcome - with almost endless money and data. But getting a mammogram is still not statistically supportable.

If you have the data, you can know way sooner. The networks were VERY slow to call. LatestPollResults.com projected a Trump victory from polling but officially "called" the race at 11:06 PM Eastern based on "data"...

Everything you complain about in those exodus verses look like important protections for young girls in terrible situations. Sure the background context of what is going on in society is bad, but why get upset over rules designed to protect young girls? God meets you where you're at...

Sometimes it turns out that having the same laws and having "basically" the same laws can be quite different.

In fairness, a lot of Protestants believe that they go to heaven because they said one prayer one time and nothing else matters. Catholics understand these things differently, for example, Catholics probably believe plenty of Catholics go to hell too!

Hawaii has corruption on par with 3rd world places where bribery is just a cost of doing business.

Essentially true. The sin is intentionally getting drunk. What if someone spikes your drink? You aren't responsible. What if you accidentally get drunk? That's more like negligence/imprudent behavior - but it's always sinful to "get drunk" on purpose.

This rings true. The Israeli forces are good but we shouldn't assume that they instigated this just because we want to believe they couldn't have been caught off guard during a holiday.

They clearly announced these were likely GOP primary voters in New Hampshire. A pretty friendly audience but one willing to consider other republicans.

Not bipartisan... it was Republicans and independents who may or may not vote for Trump in the primary. Not a MAGA audience or one with a bunch of liberals, an apparently legit GOP primary voting audience.

The real scheme appears too elaborate to infer from the previously known details. If you see a plane and then things blow up you don't necessarily suspect a signaling buoy to trigger dropping from the plane.

Yeah, definitely a shocker that the story is Norway and not the UK. Makes sense in retrospect but was not really foreseeable with my/our level of knowledge.
