People seem to forget that the day of the attack was a holiday - what is known as a chag - a required day of gathering as well as it being the Sabbath. The same thing happened on Yom Kippur in 1973 almost to the day - the forces were sparse and they had been fasting. Therefore, this is not the sole reason, but it is a factor that forces were probably at a minimum due to a false sense of security and the holiday. A perfect time for an attack. Many people were with their families or in synagogue. It certainly makes it easier to wipe out entire groups of people. They, like most of the Palestinians, were innocent casualties of much larger and nefarious players that orchestrate these events. All wars are bankers wars.
This rings true. The Israeli forces are good but we shouldn't assume that they instigated this just because we want to believe they couldn't have been caught off guard during a holiday.

I think this is highly unlikely. Intelligence failures and surprise attacks do happen. I can't see Israel bringing this on themselves. Think logically: if you are luring an enemy to attack you as a pretext for a counterattack, you allow enough of an attack to "make it look good," but with preparations for the counterattack.
That said, I wouldn't put it passed the Biden administration to see signs of an impending attack but not warn Netanayu.
I think this is Hamas, Iran, and Russia seeing the USA as overstretched and a good time to strike. Note that Biden (and Obama) were very pro-Palestinian and pro-Iran, to the tune of billions of dollars.
