Trump knows optics and how to position himself. He tried to push alternatives as well as the vax and had to eat shit for it, even though he was right.
Politics demanded he "do something" about covid, so he rammed doing something down their throat. He made Ford and others produce ventilators, he made other companies ramp up PPE equipment, he sent hospital ships to NY and LA, he was a fucking tornado of "doing something" including pushing the big pharma companies to "warp speed" something rather than sitting on their asses all day.
Now what they produced, he had no control over, he had to rely on "the machine" to tell him and everyone else if what they come up with was safe or not. They told him it was, they told us it was, but that was not the case.
I feel this is the time that Trump is letting them have enough rope to hang themselves, as he is not in charge anymore. Once the tipping point is reached, he will pivot and proclaim the lies he was fed about it, from Fauci and all the rest.

Instead, he leaned into it, and forced EVERYONE like big corps and big pharma to respond WITH him, rather IN SPITE of him.
He chose to dance with the devil rather than let the devil stab him in the back.
If he would have tried to dispose and resist all of these measures, he would have been crucified in the media, of course he was being crucified every other way before this, but this time, he would have lost his base, because people were terrified they and everyone else was going to die.
