Agree here to a point. Former navy ATC and in my experience there was a big decline right before the budget passed and as soon as they got funds aircraft sorties would be up big. Can’t remember what that time frame was for the new fiscal year besides fall.
I served in the Navy for 6 years as an air traffic controller. I quickly found out that that wasn’t the job for me, I wanted to be more hands on. ATC was and is undermanned in the Navy so I wasn’t able to change rates. When my contract was up I was accepted both by the Air Force and Army for inter-service transfers. Navy wouldn’t sign the transfer. Once I discharged I took work with the government as a contractor for a few years before Covid hit and I left because I wouldn’t get the vaccine. It’s been about a year and a half of wandering since then, working jobs I come to hate because I don’t find much purpose like I did in the military. Pictures like this remind me of what I see in the mirror. Everything happens for a reason because I’d be getting my ass kicked out of the military for not getting vaccinated anyway. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
