This is fairly normal weather, we just haven't seen it for a few seasons.
I live in the mountains around the Bay Area and we've been hit pretty hard but we've had worse. A few years back it rained for two months straight which was also a normal occurrence.
When we dont have rain, its a drought and the end of the world. Then we get rain and its a catastrophy and the end of the world.
The difference between the past and now, is that now everything has to be a crisis to push one narrative or the other.

Windows is still recording your voice either way, not sure on the mac. I found this out while developing a little voice macro program for a project. Since windows 7, Windows is always listening and recording audio in the background.
