Yeah, 19 year olds are getting heart attacks as if they're 60+ years old.

Intelligence is both a blessing and a curse

Once awake, you cannot go back to sleep.

Best thing to do is find like-minded folks and build a community. Make babies with a like-minded spouse, and make sure your children find like-minded spouses as well.

The problem of modern society is that living is too easy for stupid people. The government will feed you, house you, clothe you, and provide medical care. They'll "educate" and feed your children during the day so that you can make more children and get more government benefits. They'll even get you a cell phone with a data plan. If you live in a city with public transportation, you don't even have to learn how to maintain your own vehicles.

All of this has allowed people who would have died in previous generations to prosper and thrive like parasites on the rest of us.

We have to rebuild our numbers to replace them to take back society. Otherwise harder times are ahead.

So much misinformation here! Let me explain briefly how the Fair Tax works

  1. All current federal income taxes, capital gains taxes, etc. end. No more income tax returns every year. No more taxes withheld from your paycheck, and so on.
  2. There's a federal sales tax on all NEW goods
  3. The government gives a monthly check to every US Citizen to basically "untax" what it would cost to live at some level of poverty

Some benefits:

  • People who were not paying taxes before now start to pay, including criminals, illegal immigrants, and tourists
  • USED goods are not taxed, so used cars, used clothing, etc.
  • People who are actually spending at the poverty level effectively pay no tax, because of the monthly checks. As you spend more, you pay more taxes. NOTE: this is only if you spend more, you can still earn a lot of money and spend very little of it to avoid paying taxes
  • Noncitizens pay the most taxes, because they're not getting the monthly checks

Is it good or bad? 🤷‍♂️

Will it pass the Congress and get signed into law? 😂😂😂 You're more likely to see a snowflake in hell.

The grand total of the power of the Vice President is to break a tie vote in the Senate. That's it.

Then if the President becomes unable to fulfill his duties, the Vice President becomes the acting president.

The Vice President has zero ability to classify or declassify anything.

I'm pretty sure it is a crime

It can be construed as making a threat on their life.

Would not recommend anyone do this.

A wise man once told me that statements trigger reactions but questions trigger thoughts.

Instead of, "there is your problem," how would she have responded to, "wow, do you believe what they're saying about the vaxx these days?"?

My guess is by asking a question, it would cause her to think and consider it. It also gives you an out of she explodes, because asking the question does not necessarily mean you hold that belief.

This is fucking bullshit.

Whenever the GOP does not control one house of Congress or the Presidency, they're all about conservative values. Passing the repeal of Obamacare, the FairTax, and so on.

But when Trump came in and the GOP had full control, what happened? Fucking crickets. We got some tinkering with the tax code. No repeal of Obamacare, no FairTax, no Wall.

Bunch of fucking fairweather paytriots. Fuck em.

Maybe. But if the area has rising property values that could also mean rising population and new families moving in. A new school may be needed to accommodate more students.

This doesn't sound like the school board being shady. They estimated the cost to be $0.12 and that's probably accurate.

It sounds like separately the property values have increased, and the local government is catching up with the market. It's not uncommon for the government to only update their property value records every few years.

You're conflating the additional increase recommended by the school board and approved by the voters with what I presume to be a regular adjustment in the local taxation authority's property value records. Property values have been going up, so property taxes have too 🤷‍♂️.

It sucks to have to pay more, but it's not your local government's fault. It's the real estate market, which gets a big boost from the Fed .

This is the bullshit that the Senate does to prevent recess appointments. They all leave town except 1, and then every day or so the 1 person opens the session and then immediately closes it.

The Senate does it just because they can, and they don't want the President appointing people without their approval.

In this case, I don't really care because Brandon is bad dude. But it was super shitty when they did this to Trump in a GOP-controlled Senate.

What actions might the Executive or Judicial branches take at this time that would be prevented if the House were in session?

Arrests of Representatives and/or Representative-elects. Government shutdown due to lack of budget. Inability to impeach.

This is what can happen when the House is not in session. Recess appointments are not on the table, because that's when the Senate is in recess, not the House.

The election of the Speaker is carried out by the previous members of the House, with the members-elect casting the ballots.
