I was watching this video last night of AI interpretations of historical figures and how they would look in the modern day. Showed it side-by-side to either a statue or a painting - i.e. Henry VIII, Cleopatra, Marcus Aurelius, etc. The AI interpretation was life-like in that it would blink, turn the head, etc. One thing I noticed was they all had these big wide eyes, like the kid in the picture. Yes some people do have eyes like that, but not everyone. My family has what we call "The L Squint", so maybe I am more sensitive to it, but it was noticeable. Look at the eyes as well as the hands...

No. But I don't think he feels sorry for himself either - he does seem to have grown a bit. I admit, I never liked this guy, thought he was a creep, but the interview is interesting, especially in light of everything that has happened the last few years.

I must say, I was pleased to see that snotty little shit found guilty.

Someone told me a story of being on a jury where the first vote was guilty across the board. They felt weird about coming to the decision so quickly, so they played cards for a couple of hours and occasionally, someone would pipe up "anyone changed their mind?" Whether that is true or not, I don't know, but I can imagine a similar situation for Sammy...

There are theories floating that the election will not take place. How we get there exactly, I don't know, but it would not surprise me.

The PBD Podcast has talked a lot about this. Part of the issue is the sheer number of people who currently hold low interest rate mortgages. The percentage of people that have a rate < 3% is quite high. They are staying put and that has an affect on supply.

That said, I was in the areas that are considered "wealthy" in Silicon Valley over the last couple of weeks - Woodside, Atherton, Menlo Park. The sheer amount of home construction is amazing. It is Versailles 1788 around here. No wonder no one can get anyone else to come out to do minor repair jobs unless you pay at least $500-$1000. They are all down in SV. One guy told me the going rate for labor for pavers is $25 per square foot. That is not including materials. It is insane.

Few months ago, A Midwestern Doctor over on Substack did a big write up about this. (Also warned that to come off these drugs needed to be monitored very carefully.)

Exactly. Stay at the 40,000 foot emotionally neutral level. Not easy, but if you keep reminding yourself, it helps...

They are pumping the line that because he had substance abuse problems for so long, it probably affected organs, etc. Which is entirely possible. But there is just a weird element to all of this.

It is amazing more people don't see this. But I think we are getting better at being emotionally neutral as well.

Don't know if this is the case elsewhere, but Bof A is the bank for unemployment benefits in CA - you ger issued a debit card from them when you apply for benefits.

My mom and I were just talking the other day about which of the big banks would go down first and not get bailed out like Silicon Valley Bank. Her pick was BofA. Hmmmm...

Three day pass for R and R granted!

Seriously though, it is good advice. Go out and watch the change of seasons. Listen to classical music. Read a favorite book. Walk along through beach and see the power of the ocean. I too feel the tension and fear and this is a good check on keeping us all healthy both physically and mentally.

I think exercising caution is a prudent route to take. Because obviously it is completely natural to have an emotional reaction if true. But if the story is being used to simply manipulate, that is just as bad because you encourage violence over a falsehood. And people still die.
