Prayer request
posted 2 years ago by PhDinNY 2 years ago by PhDinNY +187 / -0

My 92-yr-old mother fell and broke her hip. She is supposed to have surgery very soon (or had it last night; I haven't received new information yet today). All prayers for her would be appreciated. She is otherwise very mentally and physically healthy!

God Almighty, i pray that Mother's surgery is routine and uneventful, and that her pain would be manageable and her recovery quick. In the name of Jesus Christ i pray, amen.

Prayer going up. My mother is 89 and she fell and broke her hip in March. They did surgery the next day and had her up and walking with a walker two days later. By July she was back to going to church, shopping, etc. First week of September she was driving again. She doesn't even have a limp. Her refusal to just sit down and quit and a lot of prayer was the key. All that to say, a broken hip in an elderly person is not a death sentence. Prayer, love and a strong will can overcome any obstacle. I'm 70 years old and I swear my mom has more energy than me.

Father I pray this mother, for her complete healing. As in your word, you say that your word shall not return unto you void. You also say that by His stripes we are healed. I pray for healing now in the name above all names, JESUS.

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

Isiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Did her hip break after the fall or did it break and then she fell? At that age it is hard to know for sure. I certainly hope her surgery goes well and she bounces back from it in a few months.

My own grandma was 95 when I saw her get up with her cane from the couch. Her hip broke and then she fell. She was very cognitively alert and was physically healthy up until that time. But this was back in the 60's and they decided not to operate on her to fix it. She ended up in a nursing home bc my parents could no longer take care of her on their own as she became bedridden. She could not sit up and ended up in bed. Eventually she succumbed to kidney disease. It took her a year to die. It was very sad to watch her go down hill from that one incident.

God bless your 92 yo mother!

What a joy to still have a parent at that age. Lord, empower the surgeons and nurses to take the best care of mom. Let peace and love cover the rest of her family and OP. In Jesus' name, Amen.

It’s so difficult with dealing with these types of injuries at such an age. I am caring for my elderly mother at this point in time in my life, so I’ll be praying for yours.

A lot of times that is a misconception of falling and breaking one’s hip. Usually the hip breaks then they fall. Both could cause serious injury as to what they hit on the way down of course.

Prays sent for your mother my friend. πŸ™

My mother in love fell and broke her hip when she was 96 and in the middle of the plandemic. Angels were encamped around her because miraculously they let her caretaker stay in the room with her, and I was able to sneak in on 3 occasions to visit her. They didn't expect her to survive and from the sound of what her caretaker told me, they couldn't care less. She shocked the doctors on the year check in when she walked into his office. Make sure you have someone with her at all times advocating for her. Praying that the Lord leads the hearts, heads, and hands of all entrusted to her care, in the name of Jesus.

Thank you. One of my big concerns was that this is in FL, where doctors have no consequences for malpractice when it comes to the elderly. If you didn't see my recent post, my sister says she is doing well, and asked for her I-pad :)

I found out through my Mom's broken hip, that hip replacement has a higher success rate than repair. Of course they didn't tell us that until after... praying for your Mother! πŸ™πŸ™Œ
