Yesterday’s plane post with the Hercules planes with Golferxx as their callsign? That was the Minnesota National Guard returning home.
What to watch today: Syria has been awfully quiet. This could be good (no US invasion) or bad (airspace is blocked)
The second Air Force One: registration 92-9000 has been hanging out on the border or TX and OK. Weird fact: on Thursday at 12:30 an airman was killed on base. No details have been announced since the incident occurred. Between 12:00 and 1:30 that day AF1 had taken off from what appeared to be an area by Sheppard AFB.
The nuclear defense capable doomsday plane: it is currently with one other doomsday plane in NE. It has been cycling between the AFB in NE and the AFB in Texas for about 2 weeks at least. It costs around $160,000 an hour to fly it, so why did they make a trip to North Carolina the day before inauguration? Why did it then leave the day after inauguration? And why, when it landed and took off, did it turn its transponders off?
Other doomsday planes: there are 3 others. One flew to Florida yesterday from NE. Number two is still in NE. The third one? Has had its flight history wiped completely all the way back to the 9th of the month.
Need planefags to help. I have pictures of Air Force Two jet along with two or three following huge planes, several military helicopters, fighter jets, that flew right over our house very low with landing gear down yesterday Saturday right at 2pm eastern. We only have two airports here in the upstate of SC, one is GSP, the other is an old air force base called The Donaldson Center that was converted to civilian like over 30 years ago. They were all landing at Donaldson. We NEVER see military type stuff around here, so this was an extremely unusual event for us, and very very loud and exciting! Can anyone confirm if this showed up on radar and can anyone confirm where our fake vice president was yesterday at 2pm? While we're at it, where was Pence yesterday at 2pm? I've already emailed him. Most interesting thing to me is that I thought Kamala and Biden had the weekend off? So that's why I'm also wanting to know if anyone happened to have eyes on Pence Sat 2pm. I have great pictures because they were so low.

That looks to be an E-8 Joint STARS.
It is a 707 platform , so it cannot be a E4 Nightwatch or "AF1 747" The Boeing 135 recons are gray / white with a long nose. Older tankers all have much larger engines now, new ones have 2 engines. E6B are all white with electronics bubble up top.
The propeller one is a C130 there are so many variants. Light gray/white could be navy or marines? Ones I normally see from Airforce, Army and Air National guard are all solid gray and in the case of ANG have orange.

This is the easiest way to post pics, no external service is needed. You may need to convert photos to JPEG format, RAW format probably won't work.
Click on the Create a Post Button and you can change the post type from Link Post to Image Post. It is under the blank space for Title. When the image post screen fully loads, there is a square. In the middle it says "upload an image". Click on this and upload a JPEG, GIF or PNG image. A menu of folders on your hard drive will pop up. If the file is on your desk top, give the file a name like "Aphoto.jpg" and it will be easier to find in a alphabetical sort.

Approximately how far are you from the base? Did you see the fighters and helicopters land too or were they just escorting AF2?
The base is 10 min from my house. Cannot confirm if they all landed but the two big jets following did have their landing gear down, so I assume they did? I don't know a lot about aircraft so for all I know once a plane gets low enough they have to its gear down?
The military planes would have most likely been carrying the motorcade armored vehicles. Anywhere from 5-20 vehicles. They always travel with AF1/2.
The fighter jets were escorts and always with the planes too, although sometimes they are high enough you don't see them or know they are there.
The helicopters were probably to escort the motorcade vehicles wherever they were going...
Question is, what is nearby you that they could have been headed to?
To my knowledge there isn't anything here that's military that I could think of that they might visit.

That location is almost exactly where the plane landed and took off from. It turned its transponders off for landing and takeoff but I estimated it around Goldsboro, which is only slightly northeast of Fort Bragg where the JSOC is headquartered

I tracked an rc135 from Offutt to mcdill the other night, it changed call sign mid flight and if I hadn't seen it at take off I wouldn't have known origin.

OK that's not usual.
Just a reminder: transport data on the various web sites is not always accurate and sometimes shows wired permutations in flight paths. Most of the transponder receiver sites are by volunteers who have a receiver and internet connection to the web sites. Data are probably about 95% accurate. Best way to be a good PF is to set up your own receiver site ( fairly cheap to do) and add to the data streams.
Correct, it's why sometimes it will drop off radar or the aircraft track will seem to go off course.
It seems a military plane 'squawking' is just a target, a diversion. I would think we see only what they allow to be seen. It is interesting though that PF can catch them changing call signs and such mid-flight. keep up the good work, and thanks
Yeah I usually follow the registration #s, a squawk and a callsign are easily changed
A pilot will be requested to change his/her squawk depending on who he's talking to and if it's controlled airspace. Imagine going from east to west and all the air traffic controllers you speak too, they will hand you off to the next one as you fly, and the next one will ask you to possibly squawk a different 4 digit code, mode C etc.

Not a planefag so forgive my question. Isn’t this AF1/2 only when POTUS VPotus are on board? When they are not on board, what is the plane used for? Or is it ONLY used in service of POTUS VPotus?
Technically any plane POTUS is on is designated AF1. However, there are two planes that are made for the job the 92-9000 and the 82-8000. They both ‘live’ at Andrew’s AFB in DC when not in use by POTUS. If they need repair the two places licensed to do it are Andrew’s and a facility in San Antonio. Sometimes they fly both planes to confuse the plane trackers

I'm not a mod they grabbed me because I'm into planes and they wanted a daily post because they were sick of multiple plane posts. I have no idea why they unstickied it today after they gave me instructions on what they wanted in the post, it's fully out of my control. I will send them a message and try and get things fixed but I don't think the mods work together very much on here at all, or at least that is my takeaway
I think the C/S is Canuk and a number used for international Canadian mil. The UK down to Kenya (RRR) is pretty normal, we have units N of Nairobi.

AF1 and AF2 both made trips the last two days with the callsign VENUS which is usually used when they are running a test flight. So as far as I can tell neither of them have been on the planes
