Exactly what I've been thinking. This thing was set up by 3 letter agencies. They took down a whole lot of small timers. The dutch news proudly stated everything they confiscated. They only found 140 million dollars in cash. Basic logic of having watched narcos you can figure that Escobar wiped his ass with that money in a daily basis.

What boggles my mind about this is that any idiot with half a brain can download Linux and setup an encrypted VPN tunnel that they could talk through privately. You can even set this type of thing up on Andriod phones. Not sure about iPhones. No server required. The police have to not only know the phone number and/or IP but then have to use massive computing power to break the encryption. If you change it out every month or so it would make spying on you dam near impossible.
While I admire an operation like this they are only rounding up all the stupid criminals. Which I guess is a lot of them, but in the end it just increases the power and money flow of the smarter ones.
