Yes! and Epoch Times did a VERY interesting article last year on the benefits of cursive writing. It isn't just a way to communicate externally, it also provides additional ways for the brain to function and link information. Probably in their archives.
Cursive writing is not the same as cursing while writing (which is what I sometimes do when autocorrect goofs with my intended word.)
I usually write curse words in cursive… that way most people don’t know they’re being cursed at. Or if a smart one catches on, I blame it on cursive error.
My school, where I taught, still teaches cursive. Several times I had children who transferred to our school who had not had cursive. LOL I had been writing on the smart board for over a month using cursive before a child told me he couldn't read cursive!
Yes. And yes I can't believe only 61% I bet it's skewed like political polls
Exactly this! How many of us even bother looking at anything MSM? They're all so full of crap that they stink to high heaven.
If only there were some kind of concentrated effort to convert the the cursive characters on our founding documents to text in a book. Someone should get on this. And spread it far and wide.
yeah you have a point. Which is why I don't trust the 79 different versions of the bible either.
Exactly! They’ve (the DS) have been manipulating the written word for hundreds if not thousands of years. To think otherwise is foolish. Wake up people!
Nah man, people need to know cursive and Roman numerals.
You're barred from learning of our past if you don't know these.
Its like studying classical music, but not knowing how to read a bar staff.
It's funny the first time kids try to read Roman Numerals on a clock.
Ok, call me a shill or whatever but I cannot let this comment go…1) you should be able to read cursive. 2) copying something from cursive to print is not “translating” as it’s still the English language, just written differently. And 3) you can literally buy a pocket sized copy of the Constitution, Declaration, Rill of Rights, etc. in print format.
Thank you!
We gave the pledge every morning, after a moment of silence for those who fought and sacrificed all to hand us this great and wonderful country we call America.
I remember it being a very proud moment every single morning. Some mornings I would notice the teacher, Mrs. Wilson would tear up and need to clear her throat. One day someone asked her about it, she explained that she had lost her father and two uncles in the Second World War.
Some years later I found out she lost her son and another more distant family member during the Vietnam War.
Many... have truly sacrificed for us to be here today. To Defend Her Still.
And moment of silence
How about we just pray in schools
Like we used to
When we weren't ashamed of Jesus Christ
And we weren't trying to pander to atheists
Blame it on Madeline Murphy, an atheist, who brought a lawsuit years ago to take prayer out of public schools.
As per my other post :)
And teach civics in schools… boring as hell, but civics without patriotic education/action is like asking English majors to study the Constitution for prose theory and history.
C’mon man!
Civics doesn't have to be boring...it can be made interesting. That's on the teacher to make it so.
You are correct indeed.
Patriotism is severely lacking in our schools. AGREED!
Patriotism is love of your fellow-man
Not love of a flag
And certainly not love for a government
Is the pledge not recited anymore? I went to Catholic school in the 90's and we recited the pledge every morning.
We do/did everyday when I was still teaching in my Catholic School. Prayer then pledge...then lunch count....LOL
Look around you man… we’re in a new century!
I pledged to the American Flag, the Bible, and the Christian Flag as a kid in Christian school.
You should see the look of shock on liberals faces when I tell them that!
To me, pledging to anyone or anything but God is idolatry
I can kind of see the Bible being something we revere, but it is not God
And the flag -- to me it represents at the very least decades of kidnapping, raping, and murdering children. I can't fly it any more. I don't see why I am supposed to pledge my allegiance to it.
I can certainly pledge allegiance to the principles God has taught through his son Jesus Christ.
Uh...have you even read the pledge?
Yes.
I don't pledge allegiance to any institution on God's green earth, except the kingdom of God.
I am not and never will be loyal to earthly powers.
The first commandment is to put God first in all things.
? You didn't read any of it. If you did, you'd know that what you're saying is aligned with the pledges you're also saying you're against...
I didn't read any of what?
What do you think "pledge allegiance" means?
I am not loyal to the United States, and I never was. The United States is a creation of "We, the People" and is not something to be honored or adored or to swear fealty to.
The United States should be pledging allegiance to me, and all individuals, not the other way around. That's why THEY take an oath of office, and we don't. I am not loyal to the United States, and no one else should be either. The constitution? If you want to work for we, the people, then you better damn well be sure you are going to follow the constitution as a condition of your employment!
This is what I said:
Read the pledge to the Christian Flag and the pledge to the Bible.
Why did you pledge allegiance to a flag or a republic?
Ill politely disagree with you. Think of this in the cobtext of one of Reagans speech's where he says he believes this land was set between the oceans by a divine creator to be found by his followers to freely follow religion. In that sense, i think its sound to fly the flag and love this country.
I feel bad for the last 100 years the people running it have perverted it.
The flag represents a government that has done everything in its power to oppress true religion.
Why Patriots Shouldn't Pledge Allegiance
https://www.lewrockwell.com/2021/06/no_author/why-patriots-shouldnt-pledge-allegiance/
That was actually an interesting read.
Exactly!!! Amen!
I loved saying the pledge as a kid.
Same. When my kids (now in their thirties) were in elementary school, they not only said the pledge of Allegiance but the entire school sang The Stars Spangled Banner. Every morning, in unison.
Only 61% ??
Don’t EVER buy the numbers as accuracy.
Dominion has entered the discussion.
The pledge should read something like this:
I pledge allegiance
To God
And Jesus Christ
And no one else because that is idolatry
I will exercise my God-given liberties to fulfill the will of God on the earth
And any government that tries to stop me will be shot to death
In the head
Multiple times
For good measure
May God have mercy on their soul, because I won't
Amen
Don’t EVER buy the numbers as accuracy.
Eh, ill take this number and think its the percentage of the popular vote Trump won if you remove the fraud.
Absolutely ,this represents patriotism and loyalty to a free and prosperous Nation. Amen! Ron DeSantis is bringing in prayer or at least a moment of silence. He is doing a tremendous job in our state here in Florida. He also banned this race theory nonsense. It is divisive and Un-American. We together will not allow the Marxist crazies to take over our lives. We are American strong. We need a proper curriculum in our schools that teach the children moral values and a real history of our country. Basic skills reading and writing, math, not just allowing a machine to do the thinking for them. What happened to physical education that went by the way side too. We need to get back to basics. We fund the schools with our taxes so we need a voice in what is taught in our schools.
The other 39% can fucking leave, go somewhere with a hammer/sickle flag instead, fucking Kaepernick scum!
I have no allegiance to the current government of the United Socialists of America. Bring the pledge back when the swamp is gone.
I whole heartedly agree! Starting yesterday.
(4 min video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HGHdFmu5GU
Thx. Any idea of the date when this was filmed?
He says there are 48 states, so it would have to be sometime before 1959.
Recording made in 1960
Note: at 3min 40sec in the video he explains that "Since I was a little boy...", two states have been added, and two words have been added to the pledge of allegiance..."Under God". "Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said that is a prayer and that would be eliminated from schools too?"
Pretty prophetic...
Awesome video. Thx.
The other 39% are commies or illegal aliens
The new generation of kids know what’s up, not all.. but as shitty as the TikTok-era form of communication, it’s a way to cut through the sea of words and get to the core.
Memes are powerful
The schools around here say the pledge and give a moment of silence. When did schools stop?
Texas has them recite the pledge to Texas, too. Teach your kids.
Any also teach them who George Washington is!
That number is way too low.
It's probably not. I bet it's about the same ratio of people that voted for Trump or biden.
What I mean is so much more american parents SHOULD be expect their kids to pledge allegiance to the american flag.
All the years I taught (42yrs) we started our day with a short prayer and then the pledge of allegiance to the flag. But then, it was not a tax supported public school.
I agree 100%. This should be mandatory. If your an immigrant and feel this is against your religion or cultural background, GO BACK FROM WHERE YOU CAME FROM. This is America, love it or get the hell out. DO not change my country to fit in with yours, if yours is so great, what are you doing here other than to piss me off.
Wait, kids don't say the pledge of allegiance anymore??? I didn't know that!
This, true American History, and a class in civics. All should be requisite to graduate.
Only 61 percent?
When did they stop saying the pledge of allegiance?
Pledging allegiance doesn't create patriots.
All the antifa members grew up pledging allegiance. How many home schooled kids who never uttered those words grew up to be anything like antifa?
If your a christian who doesn't just go along with the masses but is a christian who thinks for themselves and thus has a personal relationship with God, not a generic one you have to realize that pledging of allegiance to a flag is blasphemy and idolatry. It is merely part of the programming of the socialist state indoctrination program that you shouldn't be sending your kids to in the the first place.
People who blindly pledge allegiance, or who are programmed to do so aren't independent thinkers, they are easily swayed , members of the masses no thinkers. What we need are patriots who arrived at patriotism organically and independently.
Teach your kids to become patriots by teaching them what the constitution means and what the bill of rights is and what those documents have done for them, not by brainwashing them or making them memorize something and repetition of that thing at age 5 when they don't even understand what it means to commit to something.
Pledge allegiance to globohomo.
