For the computer illiterate out there, please don't go downloading malware posing as bittorrent clients.
Please don't use it to grab anything pirated unless you know what a VPN is and know which ones are trustworthy.
I'm on Linux, if you want a good multiplatform client, qBittorrent works well. (coincidentally it starts with a Q)

Hoping one of the good guys here can post a summary of the drop
I suspect it will be encrypted until the key is released so nothing gets revealed until after it has been well seeded.
This is like an e-arcade handing out e-tokens that may or may not result in a prize. Not holding my breath since every single datefagging has come up with nothing. (next one is August 13th right?)
It would be nice but expectations could not be any lower. Did anything come of the Mcafee deadman switch btw?
Ya know, I mostly agree with everything you said. Except this time, I cannot see how we pass the next few weeks without something huge taking place. So many momentous events that could shake the world:
Things are getting crazy.
Durham has been MIA for many months, no reason to think he'll suddenly appear
Ghislaine has been postponed before on the day before she was due, could happen again
Audits yes, I can see that being something. But can already hear the counter arguments - no (D) observers, private labs etc.
Forced vax and lockdowns have always been in the works and/or softly implemented already, that's nothing new and is not a good thing
No d observers needed. It's not a ballot recount. It's a forensic audit . You're a doomist little shill arent you?
Check my history pal. I just speak my mind and offer retorts when warranted. The only way to truth is through disagreement.
CodeMonkey has not mentioned dates. Do your research in future.
How is that any better? An undefined date with 3 undefined "phases" ?
Linux Mint motherfucker !! Yeah !
Good times, good times.
It's being used as a home entertainment system on an 11-12 year old computer with a budget GPU upgrade (Rx570) and it runs 4K like a charm.
It's good because it's like an unfucked version of Ubuntu so most Ubuntu software and wiki solutions work and Mint has a large user-base as well. It is an easy install and works out of the box. I installed KDE plasma after setup as a desktop environment because it looks so modern and clean and is yours to make your own with configuration. Manjaro is also a good distribution if you want a rolling release (updated regularly) and has some cool features (change kernel - no shutdown) and I would probably still be on it if not for HD failure. Thought I would try Mint and found that it would be very noob friendly and have just stuck with it.
My single gripe with all of Linux is that there is no graphical applet (GUI) to control your AMD video card under Linux at all. It's only a problem if you are trying to run triple monitor resolutions and crossfire rigs like my gaming PC. Fucking around in console to change super-resolutions and monitor configs is a pain and some very specific and hard info to even find.
Right on. Starting using it before Windows 7 got cancelled.
Came off Manjaro after a short stint due to HD failure. Tried Mint and it was just too easy. Manjaro was very good also (rolling release tho) and I ended up liking KDE so much that I now run that DE with Mint.
I can definitely vouch for qbitorrent.
same, have been using it for years.
ditto
Explain it to us like we're 5, only we're 5 and have never played video games or used a cell phone, ipad, etc.
I don't even know what a bitorrent is, but I do know what the definition of torrent is, so I'm assuming you mean there's going to be a Noah-esque delulge of stuff to download and pour through. Thanks for the links. (I'm not really 5, I just sometimes act like I am.)
You mean explain it to us like we're 75...
And that's not me being mean, I mean it literally. I have spent the last year being my Grandmadon internet Bible study group... No one knows less about how the internet might work.
Lol. :D
Bittorrent is a communications protocol for peer to peer networking. Your computer can be used to run a Bittorrent client (qBittorrent, Transmission, Rutorrent) which will then connect directly with other computers world wide to download files.
You start the download by downloading a .torrent file (a small tracker list to start the procedure) from a torrent site (the pirate bay) or a magnet link (the same list delivered differently). You load the file into the torrent client and watch as your computer connects to The UK, the Netherlands and Honduras to speedily get your shit!
It's how the bulk of online movie piracy is transacted which has now become a patriotic duty.
Patriotic duty, lol. The rest of your comment was quite serious and helpful, then you ended with that. Made me laugh. Thanks!
No probs. It's true to boot.
I haven’t used torrents since limewire back in the DAY! 🤣
I'm a few minutes into this. Sounds like he's giving a good rundown.

If anyone finds better video's please share.

Okay, got it. Interesting! I'm glad I learned something. Thank you.
Thank you. I'll check it out now.
The idea is you want to download a large file. Doesn't matter what the file is. But that implies an expensive server somewhere running at 100% capacity if the file is popular.
Bit torrent allows the file to be broken into chunks. Somebody starts off with a full copy of the file ("seeding") but as that is downloaded and simultaneously shared by more and more people there are more and more sources from which your next chunk can be obtained, so taking the load off the original seeder.
Easy to install the software and then all you need is a pointer to the torrent.
Thanks, 007. That makes sense. But how does it work in terms of organization? If you get little chunks from a hundred different seeders, do they somehow download in order or are they are random mess? Thanks for answering.
Yes there is a tracker, I should have said. Like you want to download a book with 100 pages. You are continually asking people "who can give me page 17?" and people are continually asking you "do you have page 23 for me please?" Until everybody gets all 100 pages.
Oh, I see. Make sense. Thanks. I figured there had to be something like that.
I finally get it! Thank you 👌
I'm partial to Deluge client, myself
Deluge is fine.
Collect underpants?
I fear I'll just have to wait for my frens here to enlighten me when this all happens. On a lighter note, I got one of those Coleman dual burner lamps and lots of Coleman fluid (supposedly burns, cleanr than kerosene, and no I don't like cqmping) just in case there are 10 days of real darkness, like no electricity. Let me rephrase that without the word "fear" ; sounds too mindwipeish.
Better not be 170 terrabytes or some shit that none of us have the space for
The first fucker to actually make a Linux phone with awesome support is gunna be filthy FILTHY rich
Wtf does that mean?
What does what mean?
Not sure. Material from whistleblower. McAfee's deadman files...
He just posted something about phases. Exactly how long are these “phases” supposed to last? 🤨 phase 1 was (I think), educate the public about torrents. I could be wrong but I think that was what it said.
Edit: phase 0 was educate about torrents. Then says
Phase 1: ???
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: ???
Can we just get a move on 🤬
See I’m new to CMZ. So I haven’t gotten a good read on him yet. I know people on here are pretty split about him though. Although if he’s doing crap in phases that may take ages I may get a little ticked. 🙎🏼♀️
How do you stay safe with torrents?
What is a vpn?
Can vpn be used with torrents?
Why would you want to use a vpn for torrents?
Please help each other learn.
Just saw this. Guess we still on phase 0 and will be for quite some time since I’ve seen at least 3 ppl asking questions saying they are in their 60s and don’t understand internet. Fuckin A
Oddly I made a very succinct post in response to that and it disappeared.

I'm so illiterate with all the torrent and vpn stuff I'll wait for a PDF or something. old dogs and new tricks stuff.
Deluge is the best I have 3TB of mirrored disk space ready
Woah, don't torrent with phone. It will drain your battery and the file will probably exceed your phones capacity. Plus apps on the app store are pretty much all spyware.
How do we know which VPN services are not compromised/honey traps?
Which ones successfully fought subpoenas? It's not a 100% guarantee but I can tell you your ISP isn't going to protect you. They're already selling your data.
Its not just about fighting subpoenas. Its also those who had "hacking" issues and lost private details of their customers. These hacking incidents are most definitely cover for passing on your private details to their overlords.
Well certainly don't use a Hong Kong based VPN.
If you're referring to issues that NordVPN had, that was grossly overblown.
Watch the Techlore video's I linked to for VPN recommendations.
You want to keep anti-fa type vigilantes from revealing your identity. If it's a honey pot it would be government run and the government isn't going reveal their honey pot over this. They would be busting pirates, pedophiles, and drug cartels on a regular bases if they were.
Also I dont like the way NordVPN was being pushed on all deep state channels. But thanks for the link I will check it out.
