I am in agreement with your assertion that he should stand for his convictions, but you are not faced with the weight of his situation. We must all at some point make decisions where what we know we should do is coupled with significant personal cost. You can call his command directly if you know what battalion and platoon he's in. They can contact him immediately and put him on the phone if you make it a big deal. They will try to tell you that he's unavailable while in training but they can make exceptions regarding medical or religious issues. Make it an issue.

I don't think they could actually Dishonorably Discharge him! People need to research the UCMJ to see what kind of Discharge refusing to take a supposed Vaccine would fall under. My son has been waiting to join the USMC but he’s not going to until any mandated vax bullshit is over with. By then it may be too late as he will have likely chosen another path. Our family has chosen the no vax path wherever that may lead us. We will be persecuted - that’s OK. Stand strong, and patriots start helping one another who may be faced with these ultimatums before you are.

Telling a parent their child will have to suffer and go hungry if they do something can be every bit as debilitating as physical restraint.
