DEVOLUTION
Assuming Trump extended his term, and he didn't extend Pence's, there would be a VP vacancy, right? Even if Trump's and Pence's terms expired, the succession would go to the last Secretary of State, given that the election --- and therefore Congress --- was illegitimate.
Whoever the president is would have to appoint an interim VP because the Senate was not in session. So they have to have a confirmation. Makes sense to me.

I think there is some meat to the Ford theory. The VP steps down, the President picks a new VP, then the President steps down. Then the newly picked but unelected VP becomes President. Unless theres something to stop this , its a pretty sneaky loophole (i'm aware the new VP pick has to be voted on see below*)
I think they want a do over. They got in , got what they wanted , but it cost them politically. biden and harris are sinking the democrat party with their low approval ratings. So now they need a new figurehead.
The mechanics would be interesting especially in the Senate. If haris were to step down there would no longer be a tie breaker in the 50/50 senate. *: According to the 25th amendment, the new VP pick would have to be confirmed by a majority in both houses of congress.

Hey everyone idk about u but I'm almost hoping they stick together because they are so dysfunctional, it would be perfect for them to not get anything done. I'm saying because lefts say that someone like chicken Schumer became vp or aoc like were talking about major jumps for seriously bad ppl. I'm no fan of kamala but I am thoroughly enjoying their dysfunction since since it keeps them from performing horrendous actions in sync. I'm just trying to get ppl to look at the bright side of the issue at hand
