heavily vaxxed liberal northeast is getting a blizzard
posted 3 years ago by charlesufarley 3 years ago by charlesufarley +244 / -0

Shoveling can raise your heart rate, I'm curious to see if there are more heart attack after digging out now that so many are vaxxed and boosted. If you got the shot, pay a neighborhood kid to shovel for you.

I’m going to be out there before Dawn trying to snow-blow before it gets too high for the snow blower.

Maybe this year I’ll finally build the igloo I’ve always wanted.

Did they give this storm a scary name yet to further panic the public?

Sadly, all my normie friends soak this stuff up.

Made an igloo for my boys several years ago that was 5 feet tall. Pushed the snow off the roof to add volume. It didn't completely melt until Easter!

Have fun!

before it gets too high for the snow blower

Although we got 20", this was the ideal snow, very light. End of the driveway always the worst and way over 3 feet from the plows. Snowblower had no problems and churned right through it. If it had been 5 degrees warmer though...cement!

While it will suck, the forecast is for it to snow while in the mid teens, which means they are hyping the snow totals but in reality it's powder and light.

I honestly don't get it. I come from Indiana, near Lake Michigan (where a lot of snow did NOT fall). Now I live in NH, where snow fall happens every year, multiple times a year (again, not what I grew up knowing). I made room to fit my cars in my barn (after bolstering the supports to bear the additional load). My snowblower sits right at the entry way to my barn. Whenever it snows, I have the cars waiting in the barn, I snowblow my driveway, I usually help snowblow in front of my neighbors houses where the plow walls them in. I expend very little energy of my own. I drive a Mid-engine Rear wheel drive sports car with studded snow tires on and have never gotten stuck. What I don't get, is that people who grew up around snow, have no idea how to deal with it (on their driveways), and they have no idea how to drive (during the first snowfall). The New Englanders are a cold hard people. They go to work sick unless they are unable to move, then Covid hits, and they all mask up and get vaccinated immediately (well, certain places in New England). I realized after covid started, that as a conservative here, I have my work cut out for me.

New Englanders are a cold hard people.

The older ones still are. However, get within higher urban densities you're mostly dealing with their kids, grandkids, or out of state transplants. They aren't tough nor were they raised tough. And with that most of the common sense stuff you do when a storm approaches was minimized, forgotten, or not taught at all.

I got ~2 feet earlier this winter, and people rose a much smaller stink about it. I pulled out my snowblower and went to town on the snow. I carved a path from my barn to my driveway, did the entire driveway in ~half hour, helped my neighbor find her car in the snow (snow drift from the garage roof over the car all the way to the road, I didn't know there was a car there). She was trying to fix that mess with a small shovel. As I watched, part of me was laughing, the other part of me said I probably should help her. I did. Also helped knock out the wall of snow/ice that the plow left behind.

We had 12" of snow dropped in NOVA on 03 Jan. I checked the local hospital system wait times and yup, the ER wait times were elevated beyond normal for a few days following the snow event. Admittedly, there are more factors involved, but it does make for a good barometer.

I'll keep you posted - I'm in the heart of this one apparently. With a massive bday party scheduled in the middle of it and another party for Sunday evening.

We'll have a blast.

But I think that many will be physically unable to even shovel their snow. Specifically the boosted ones.

My history in hospitals/Nursing homes, families would take mom/pop to the hospital ER (in advance of anticipated bad weather) with 'new symptoms' to get them admitted for a few days if they didn't have adequate heat/care at home during a dangerous storm.

▲ 1 ▼
– blacksmith21 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

Interesting. DC/NOVA is supposed to get some snow, but I'm not seeing that effect in the wait times. Note that these numbers have pretty much remained about the same the entire time through the plandemic. Never saw any major spikes when COVID was "raging".

I read this insanity earlier, now the weathermen are blaming climate change for their inability to "forecast" properly:

"One of the reasons the storm has been so difficult to predict is because of changing weather patterns due to climate change – and some researchers say similar, hard-to-predict storms could become more common in the future."

Good Grief.

permalink save report block reply
▲ 6 ▼
– INK10 6 points 3 years ago +6 / -0

Good Grief is right! Here in the NE we get coastal storms (Nor'easters). Depending on how far off the coast the storm is, pretty much determines the amount of snow. As far as I can remember it's always been that way. Now all the weather idiots are saying this is unpredictable due to brand new factors that didn't exist in the past. BS! These storms are always that way.

I don't shovel. I just wait it out. I'm fully stocked and don't have to go anywhere.

I live at the bottom end of the snow, and they've been reducing our predicted snow depth for the last couple of days. Some weather people said we would get over 9 inches. Now it's just a couple of inches.

We still have snow on the ground from last weekend. The old people used to say that if snow remained on the ground a while, it was waiting for more. That seems to be holding true, at least this week.

No, it's not your fault that someone got the vaccine, and had myocarditis. Insinuating that is dangerous (to some people's mental health and feelings of guilt [not mine however]). It is not the job of neighbors to verify vaccinated or unvaccinated snow shovelers. If they happened to be vaccinated and die while shoveling, the blame lies with those perpetuating the vaccine, the person who got it (or if under 18, the parents), and the administering doctor. No one else is responsible. Next thing you will see if that was the case, is high school sport coaches going to jail for taking part in murder. Men and women going to jail for having a miscarriage. As our former vice president once said, "C'mon man!"

I know based people who've played covid blame game on themselves. The funny thing was, the guy who ended up going to the hospital never blamed any of them. He said that it could've came from anyone or anywhere, he placed no value in blaming anyone. I saw him shortly after he left the hospital and gave him a hug. (he's another deacon at my church)
