Neat!
Very nice! Lots of pine trees where I live, but I don't think they do that in the Northeast. At least not where I am.
I live in the Southeast and we have more pine plantations than you can imagine. I also have 400 acres in mostly pines and I monitor new growth on young pines. I've never seen anything like that. The only noticeable thing pine trees do this time of the year is cover everything with pollen. Both of my ponds are turning yellow and once the total accumulated degree-days temperature reaches 626° the pine and cedar pollen will reach it's peak. At that point almost everything is cover in yellow "dust".

I had to look it up because I've never noticed this either.
Yes! The "yellow storm" will soon be upon us, literally.
The Yellow Storm is what we've been going thru for decades since Bill Clinton.
...some call it "China"
It’s been in Eastern North Carolina for about a week.
Mississippi man here my friend. We know of what you speak. Kek
Can you explain what you mean by the total accumulated degree days temp?
The count starts after Feb. 1st. To find the degree-days, add the positive differences between the daily high temperatures and 55° each day. When the total degree-days add up to about 300 degree-days is when we begin to see the pines releasing the pollen. When the total degree-days reach 626, pine pollen production has reached its peak.
Very cool thanks, glad to see there’s a mathematical formula for knowing when the pine trees will jizz all over everything
Thank you for the explanation !
I've never seen it myself, but am always willing to learn something new.

I've seen plenty of pine trees, even the sprouts on high, but don't recall ever seeing the crosses myself. Or maybe I saw them and never made the observation. Apparently it's in particular locations and particular types of pines.
What surprises me more, though perhaps it shouldn't, is that I'd never heard of this before. I've said this many times before on varying (of my own) discoveries... How can I be this age and never have even heard of this before? Case in point bright pink lakes. I learned about them a couple years ago.
Yeah looking around now and not a single one looks like this :/
In an attempt to deceive the world and lead people into worshipping a false Christ, the Devil made the cross a popular symbol of worship. God instructs His true followers to worship Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23). When He called us, God told us to forsake all of this world's false religions, rituals and false, pagan symbols of worship including the cross. Sorry to be 'that guy'... but somebody had to say it.
This makes it so hard to find other like-minded christians. Every "church" is littered with crosses.
Thanks for being that guy brother. Matthew 28:18-20
As Written, the whole world is deceived. Even when one third is killed by famine, war, etc, the remaining two thirds refuses to stop worshiping (serving) demons.
What are you on about? You doubt the word, and Christ?
I don’t mean to be a downer, I don’t think this is true. I’ve lived in North Carolina all my life surrounded by Loblolly Pine trees. I spent a lot of time in the woods with my grandfather & he probably knew just about everything to do with the woods. He worked in soil conversation. This was back in the 70s to mid 80s. His main job was advising farmers on getting rid of beaver damns on their farms & also helping farmers with ditches. He worked part time into his 70s. He was a very old school southern man. My husband said he would walk up on you in the woods & you wouldn’t know it until you saw him. He taught me so much about nature. When I was very small there was pine trees about head high & he would put us on them to swing. Knowing his knowledge & he was a Christian I believe he would have noticed this. I saw this posted a few years ago & I’ve searched in my area every spring. I haven’t found anything. I’d love for it to be true. The dogwood does represent Jesus. Same with the sand dollar. Look up those if you haven’t heard of it.
And the crucifix fish.
This is because every year pines make a new set of branches. You can surmise how old a pine is by the number of branch "circles". The lil' crosses on top are simply the newest set of branches.
AFAIK Pines are the only trees that grow branches yearly in these circular patterns. Its not all conifers or evergreens, as magnolia nor cedar trees grow branches in this pattern.
That is beautiful. We don't have those kinds of pine around here.
It's true, don't know what kinda pines the rest of y'all have but in NE FL they do this.
Been seeing it my whole 40+ years.
What kind of pine do you have that you see the cross?
“I am like an evergreen tree. Your fruitfulness comes from Me.” Hos. 14:8
I have several pine trees on my property and my back yard. I will update my findings, but as far as I know this is not true for central texas
I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for 30 years and have never seen this. Seems like an April Fool's.
Health benefits of whole cell pine pollen. (stay away from "cracked-cell" from China) https://www.organicfacts.net/pine-pollen.html
Cool!! 😎
Maybe it is to ward of vampires coming out of hibernation?
The Power of Christ Compels You... to leave me the fuck alone.
Because that's how you end that phrase?
Nature resonating with the aether 👀👀👀
Growing up, or dogwoods would bloom around Easter as well.
I've seen this happen a few times over the years. It's a specific type of evergreen or pine tree, but I don't know which one it is.
I'm not religious but that's cool AF.
Thanks pede!
