I've occasionally wondered about this and what I concluded was wherever there are native brown people, there are lethal horrors in the water. White Americans are European stock, there's no crocodiles, venomous snakes or cock intruding parasites in "Caucasian" rivers and lakes, I wonder to what extent the relative fauna of the various environments contributes to black people being largely unable to sit still when "Shit's going down" or "Something's happening". If you've seen a lethal snake then evolutionary pressure may well select for leaping around shouting and waving arms around.
I concluded long ago that when God scattered people worldwide following the tower of babel that he also equipped people for their environments ie; Africans (dark skinned for many hours in the scorching sun) Asian and Indian countries skin color and body builds for the jungle Caucasians-white for milder climates-same for body builds
Come on. As anons we know better than to base our knowledge off just our own limited experiences. Even if youve been boating since an infant, you’re only one person in one location at a time. You probably live in a predominantly white area, as most people live amongst their race. But there are plenty of black boaters, especially in LA and FL.
I see black people all the time out on the lagoon in FL they fish a lot too, but i mean i also see some hispanics, whites, hell even some asians on the water lol, but yeah honestly mostly white people out there.

I was a SCUBA instructor and I can tell you unless they are pretty fat the males, and to a lesser extent the females sink like stones. They are ~20 lbs negative with a full breath. They have no business in or on the water. Blacks specifically. I know plenty of Mexicans with boats and many are good skiers to boot.

Years ago in an Arab Gulf country, my East African friends invited me to watch the Gulf Cup football/soccer championship. They were all 140-160kg/300 lbs+. I was yelling out like I was Jimmy the Greek with Tourette's Syndrome that, "This team is going to win because they have more black people." and "Black people are good at sports."
We all had a good laugh. And the teams with black players were winning.

I have had asthma my entire life and swimming was always a challenge for me. We went white water rafting with a church retreat once and there was a rapid the instructor/guide said we could swim through if we wanted. Stupid me (can barely swim) and one of my girls (my daughter is a good swimmer) decided to swim through it. I nearly drowned and they had to haul my butt into the raft, my daughter breezed through it.
I wear sandals when I swim in the ocean to help float, otherwise I float vertically.

That said it is a freakin' crime that every black kid in America isn't taught swimming and basic water safety. There are techniques that can keep you alive long enough for someone to help you.

I am from a poor family and my husband’s dad is not, while we were boaters, we encountered alit of snobby people as opposed to camping and RVing most were nice and didn’t look down in you if you weren’t rich. What’s with that?
I grew up poor and yet my dad managed to get a small sailboat for the family to enjoy on weekends. We were surrounded by huge yachts and rich people all the time, but I don't recall anyone treating us poorly over it.
My parents had a boat when I was little but I was too young to remember much of it. We encountered alot of snobby people when we had our own boats though. Most of the folks we met when RVng were friendly
