There's actually a private paramilitary organization called the Wagner Group in Russia. I get people using their existence as a rebuttal to my accusations of Ukrainian Nazism, as if two wrongs cancel each other out. Admittedly, Putin is a bit of a hypocrite when he speaks of de-Nazifying Ukraine when he has the Wagner group acting as sort of an SS in his own country. The difference is that technically you get arrested for being a Nazi in Russia under normal circumstances and nobody there knows much about this Wagner Group, while in Ukraine they are out in the open about their Nazism.

In WW2 most of Ukraine sided with the Nazi's because the Russians had been systematically murdering them for decades.
