She recently moved to LA. About 5 months ago. She laughed at me when I told her she's making a mistake and that she should stay close to family here in MA (not that we are that much better than California).
Now her brothers are all pretty based patriots as is her father. Her mother is old school non-feminist type. Unfortunately for her, the school system turned her into a leftist during her teenage years.
She drove to NYC to attend BLM rallies and everything. Was right in the middle of the riots in Brooklyn recording everything.
She's no rioter herself and she's a soft little white girl but up until recently, she thought she was some sort of freedom fighter.
Anyway, she gets to LA and at first was sending me all these beautiful pictures of the landscape as she went to trips in the hills and ocean views etc.
But recently, she's been telling me about how bad crime is and she doesn't feel safe at night walking around. How it's filthy and how she's seen bums take a shit right across her street.
She lives just outside of downtown LA in some gentrified hipster area that up until prior to covid was apparently really nice and clean. But now, it's being overrun by homelessness and degeneracy.
So she calls me last night asking me how she can purchase guns in LA quietly. Now I have no fucking clue how so I told her to google it and suggested she get out of LA and find a gun dealer in a based red area to help her out with an AR15 she can use.
She then went on a rant about how disgusting everything and everyone is and how she can't wait for her contract at work to be done so she can, and I quote, "escape this fucking hell hole".
I assume she's gonna come back based af lol
Easiest way:
^^^ THIS ^^^
Tell her to buy the mini 14 instead, it functions like an AR but looks more like a normal rifle, it's not banned in california.... or as likely to be banned.
I thought you can get AR's in California but it had to be "California legal".
California legal basically makes them less effective than a Mini 14 iirc
A "California Legal" AR-15 (or any other semi automatic rifle) cannot have any of the following:
It must be longer than 30 inches in length and detachable magazines cannot accept more than 10 rounds.
That's the gayest list I've ever seen
And I'm sure you've seen more than your share of gay lists...
I'm a old man and I've never seen a pile of human shit on a sidewalk. Thats a califag special.
The gayer the better.
That’s the best advice...problem is they are jacked way high than what they are worth..because of Fornia, and harder to find than AR15’s. As in you can’t buy ar’s in Cali, I’m pretty sure. And can’t go to another state to purchase, like Arizona. Not accepted back In commieland.
A non gun owner might be best served with a good revolver or double barrel shotgun with 18 inch barrels....
I actually suggested that. Told her about the Maverick 500. Only problem is the polymer but it's not like she's gonna go wild with it.
Regular smith and Wesson. 38 with plus p ammo. Is what I would recommend. Revolvers are the safest and easiest to use.
Revolvers aren’t safer than auto pistols. Now I don’t buy guns with safety mechanisms in mind, it’s why I roll Glock mostly. But at least there is a safety lock in the trigger. Just a tiny lever. Revolvers are zero on safety. Well, other than finger off the trigger. I personally have a sp101 Ruger .357/.38 revolver. It’s a brick. But I carry the glock(s). Easier.
Revolver are much safer for non gun people to use. If you pick it up you can see if it's loaded, and they don't have or need any safety, safties and de-cocking levers make the gun unusable in an emergency. To people who don't train with their weapons... the learning curve on using a revolver is much smaller.
Point and pull the trigger, that all they need to know.
Oh I see what your saying. Yea simple design. It’s only safer because it appears that way. Once a non gun person becomes more familiar with auto’s they soon learn that they will have options for a gun with an actual safety mechanisms to choose from. I was the same when I was younger. Was unfamiliar with auto’s so I went revolver. But after years I was eventually introduced and shown how they work and what not. Now all I use are automatic pistols. But as I said, I still don’t go all safety stuff. We call those California guns.
This is great advice.
Downtown LA has been in the hands of the demons for decades. One of the creepiest places I've ever been to. The bad mojo is palpable...
I'd suggest she not invest in PMs until she can first get out of that environment. As discrete as the bullion dealers are with shipping labels, I wouldn't doubt if there are some UPS/FedEd/Postal delivery people that know how to spot a box of silver/gold. And if she wanted to buy a decent quantity of silver (say 200 ounces+), there's almost no way to hide it. The idea that some girl living in gentrified LA is buying a 25+ pound box of "ball bearings" ain't gonna fly...thus making her a crime target.
If she's got the cash to buy big quantities and can't get out of LA for several months, I'd suggest she look into temporary 3rd party storage. I'm a much bigger fan of "if you don't hold it, you don't own it", but 3rd party storage is better than not owning any PMs at all. SD Bullion both sells and offers storage options as well. Mike Maloney at goldsilver.com also has some interesting storage options. Both of which are better than not owning anything at all.
But I would not advise her shipping big orders of silver to her gentrified apartment. She could get away with doing this with gold however as even a 10 ounce purchase (~$20,000) can be shipped discretely. The only downside is that gold isn't going to have the ultimate bounce that silver is going to have one day.
I'd be worried about buying from LCSs in downtown LA as well, especially if I were a woman.
Net-Net - Short term 3rd party storage if she wants silver, or small direct gold purchases would be okay.
Her desire to buy pm's is based on me telling her to buy pm's for years. She's just in a state of disarray realizing her belief system leads to human feces on the side walk in the end.
Her desire to buy a gun is real but even that is just as a result of the same realization.
What she's actually gonna do is research and when she decides to buy something, I'm going to tell her to forget about it and just buy when she comes home with the money she's saved for it there.
I just found it hilarious and simultaneously sad that it's come to that point.
Had to go into Boston last week. I went to college there so I know the city pretty well but haven't been in Southie in 15+ years. Got off the southeast express way and immediately drove right into a homeless tent encampment. It went on for 3 blocks with police cars monitoring from both ends. 7:30 in the morning there were hundreds of people shuffling about, tweaking, sleeping on the curb and several hunched over poking at random things in the gutters.
Something DRASTICALLY changed in the past 10 years as I remember only occasionally seeing someone sleeping at Ruggles T station or Back Bay when I lived there. 😢
Yea it's actually a lot like Kensington Ave in Philly if you are familiar.
Yes! My wife showed me videos of Kensington last year, but I never imagined Boston was just as bad. 😲
Fire arms advice - a nice 9MM carbine should do the trick - I hear you can blow peoples lungs clean out with one of those.
I hear the JR carbine is a nice one.
Ruger PC carbine - just as capable of blowing out lungs but not as scary looking.

On the cheaper side, she could get a Hi-Point - bonus - WHEN it jams, these bad boys make very effective clubs.

The HI-POINT only takes HI-POINT mags right?
I believe there is one hi capacity after-market but cannot remember the brand name.
Ah, gotcha. No doubt getting out of dodge should be her #1 priority. But time is getting short on PM ownership before they become unaffordium and unobtainium! The COMEX is now below half of registered silver it was before the apes got organized. That took about 18 months. I think the next wave happens in 6 months or less.
But who knows, the cartel has more tricks up their sleeves than we can imagine...
I got stuck in LA for two weeks. When I finally drove out of town I was caught in a rare torrential downpour.
That's when I discovered that the windshield wipers, on the chosphop car that I had just purchased, did not work.
Instead of taking it back, I floored it and drove with my head out the window to get away from that demonic place.
haha that's amazing lol
California is a beautiful state. Too bad the left has ruined it, as they do everything they touch.
L.A. smells like hobo urine. They don’t show you that in the movies.
You have to have "Smell-a-vision" for that level of immersive entertainment experience.
It’s easy to get a gun but it takes time-15 to 21 days. Tell her to find a ‘Turners Sporting Goods’ store and talk to a salesman. She will need to pass a gun safety test and have two types of I.D. such as a DL and Passport. Once she passes the safety test and has the IDs she can purchase a gun and wait 2-3 weeks and pick up her gun.
Or...she could drive 4 hours to Arizona and buy from a private seller with no background check or buy a long gun from any dealer with just the normal background check.
Summer camp for Libs
I grew up in the People's Republik of Madison, so I can relate. Back in the day it used to be "weird" like Austin. Plenty of great ethnic restaurants, good music scene, laid back, fun, and cool. I used to like it a lot. But now it went "woke" and same story. Homeless people shitting on the sidewalk, huge encampments, crime is way up, cost of living outrageous. I have no idea how people live like that.
One hellhole to another....................masshole here.
One level higher than the deepest levels of hell
yup
Absolutely the quickest and easiest way for her to buy is to go to Vegas or Phoenix. A gun dealer in LA (Burbank is not too far from her, Hollywood always has a crowded atmosphere) can walk her through the waiting period. She might try visiting the sheriff for a concealed carry, as he's very based, although I don't know how he's been administering that policy recently.
If she goes out to Vegas let's say and grabs a rifle there, is it legal for her in California? I really don't know the retardation over there too well that's why I told her to get out of LA and find a based red area dealer.
Gun shops here are an oasis of based diehard patriots. None of them are woke, except maybe the folks at a chain store.
All in-state purchases have to be reported. Ammo, too, so buy that out of state as well. Those are done by the dealer. In general, handguns don't have to be registered if you own one, but I believe all long guns are supposed to be registered; shotguns may be an exception. A CA dealer will have all the laws down pat. They'll treat her right, but she'll have to go through the waiting period to buy.
The laws here are dizzying, designed to catch and close the dealerships, and I'm no expert. I think they tried to pass something about how you need to keep it in a locked container in a locked trunk when you travel, and I'm not sure if that passed or not. Honestly if she's not confident to look it up on her own, visiting a gun shop is the best way to go, whether she buys or not. Also a good way to meet based patriots in the neighborhood, because the woke don't hang out there. For self defense in the city, I'd recommend a handgun rather than a rifle, but the best gun is always the one you're most comfortable with.
Ammo has to reported? Jesus Christ
Every ammo purchase is recorded, only to approved buyers. They tried to make every cartridge serialized, but gave up after awhile. And you become approved to buy ammo by registering at least one gun. More than one reason why they call it Commiefornia.
As the collapse accelerates, she needs to do a real
risk / benefit evaluation.
Young single white girl, liberal roots, never really had to scrape in the real world. Sounds like she's totally unprepared for what's about to befall her in the city of lost angels.
You should impress upon her as strongly as you possible can, "is that contact worth her life?"
I don't know what expiration date look like, but this is no time for anyone you love to be trapped behind enemy lines.
She's completely unprepared and will get eaten alive if shtf. I've tried for years to smarten her up as have her parents and siblings. She's a very caring and nice person and I love her very much but sometimes they just gotta learn the hard way.
I hear ya my brother, but some don't survive life's lessons.
I know we are all conflicted with the fools that can't or won't see, but in my heart some of those sweet dear fools are worth saving.
It's bazaar, because we're gifted with the ability of clarity, in a strange and crazy way we become the shepards for those who can't, we just need decide who.
I've read your stuff, and it's easy to see you're a man of intelligence and conscience, when the dust settles and we look back, honor and action is all we hope to see.
My 2¢ for what it's worth fren.
Your pennies are worth gold in my books, patriot.
I went to visit family who lived out there for a bit and was amazed at how underwhelming and dirty LA was. One beach even had a porta potty with poop piled above the toilet seat rim when I ignorantly went to go take a piss in it. This was over 10 years ago, I can't imagine the place now.
Sometimes shit has to hit you in the face.
I'd recommend a gen 3 glock 19 - legal in CA and easy to carry.
I hope she can stay safe until then.
Yea I think that's the next step lol
