I see that all the time in TN. Open Carry no permit required. Makes crooks thing twice before trying to rob anything!
TN is a constitutional carry state. Open vs concealed makes no difference in TN.
Open carry isn't the brightest thing. Best to conceal, and not let them have an opportunity to grab it during a moment of inattention.
Also, concealed keeps them guessing.
But otherwise, I approve this sentiment!
Of course - I meant legally there is no distinction.
For a practical aspect, there are pros and cons to open and concealed carry both. Comfort, accessibility, etc, but I would say the most important are:
Open carry puts you at a greater personal risk and this has been demonstrated in real examples over the years, from physical attacks to verbal ones, and
Concealed carry does not help normalize the 2nd like open carry does.
Agreed. When you feel very safe, open carry is great for reminding regular people that just because someone has a gun doesn't make them violent/bad. When you're in a Democrat city, on the other hand... tuck that shit like big Mike
I have open carried in safe places for that reason. Remind people of their right, and encourage others who might be on the fence.
Never heard of a retention holster?
Why not both?
Guns be heavy
Even polymer ones? I only had rifles so I can agree with your statement.
Time for some new down home gunmakers I think, without serial numbers, sold to Patriots only.
Spooky ghost guns!!!
You cant sell firearms like that, but you can build them for yourself😉
I could give them away
Ever heard of under the table? How do you think criminals get guns?
I completely missed the gun before reading this comment. Was scratching my head trying to figure out what's so special about a lesbian buying bread
Yup. I had to zoom in to see it.
Had to zoom to see a full frame 1911?! Jk lolz :)
Lol my thoughts exactly hahaha
I missed it too. I was looking at the rack. And I’m not referring to the bread rack.
Who says she is a lesbian? Plenty of women wear jeans and have a short haircut
It's a sarcastic remark.
Wendy is saying: Wow. How is it legal for a woman (or a person) to wear an unconcealed firearm at her side! This is going to (somehow, don;t know how) hurt children!!!!!!
Nick is pretending that the firearm is NOT the subject of her (dumb) statement, and is sarcastically saying that Wendy is surprised that a lesbian (woman) can buy bread.
He met her actually stupid and dumb remark with a pretended dumb and stupid remark.
He's NOT actually suggesting that the woman is a lesbian. He's saying that Wendy's comment is so dumb that it is on par with actually writing: "wow. How can a lesbian buy bread? Think of the children!"
Make sense? He's not actually suggesting she's a lesbian.
I'm amazed that you took the time to explain this (great job, btw). I'm really baffled that it needed explanation.
<chuckles> My work involves taking meaning and breaking it down into digestible units, then reconstructing the meaning in a different format.
Anyway, thanks for the appreciation! That makes it even more fun.
And I thought the LGBT community was anti gun. Oh well, was an easy joke, kinda funny.
Joke explained.
I have never been able to wrap my head around sarcasm...they say it's the closest form of wit..but I see nothing funny about it.
It's lost on me..
It's really hard to tell sarcasm through text alone, yes.
That's why slash-S exists. Unless you lay on the sarcasm super-thick, it's necessary when writing.
I've had way too many misunderstandings without it.
Actually, the saying is that sarcasm is the LOWEST form of wit. In other words, (negative) sarcasm is low, cheap and easy.
But good (constructive) sarcasm can be funny.
Yes I know sarcasm is the lowest form of wit..however my tablet thinks differently!
So I am a numbnut!! That's a new addition to my resume
Kek. Got it.
The guy commenting on the photo at the bottom did, but yea, youre right about that too. She might not be a lesbian and just have short hair
He is not actually suggesting she is a lesbian. He's pointing out how stupid Wendy's comment is by pretending to misunderstand it.
(Because it really is too dumb - or brainwashed - to be asking how it can be legal for someone to open carry.)
I really despise Wendy.
I think he's joking about the woman buying bread being a lesbian, though. The short hair and dress style are the giveaways.
Hmmmm. I don't think so. I think he's using that for convenience. While some lesbians may look like this, I'd bet $100 that the number of perfectly hetrosexual women who dress like this far outnumber the lesbians.
He's simply using an established stereotype to his advantage, in my view. Why? Because his main point is that Wendy's remark is really, really dumb. Whether the woman is an actual lesbian or not doesn't come into it, except that the stereotype gave him direct and immediate fodder for his comeback.
I mean, in my opinion.... <but what do I know?>
Well yeah he's using the trope as a joke
Everyone has gone mad. If two women live together ..they have to be lesbians...if two men live together they have to be gay...to put labels on people about what goes on privately is anyway no cause for comment
Maybe it's just me, but she looks like a cop.
That's a big old gun for a little granny. kek
Good on her.
You have the right use it. You never know when some deranged SOB is going to cut loose.
She needs her whole grains and won't take no for an answer.
kek
My grandmother carried a 6 shooter revolver in .45 ACP as her security guard service weapon. Thing weighed almost three pounds unloaded. She was a crack shot, police officers would gawk at her at the range when she had to re-qualify, there would be maybe two holes in the target no matter what drill.
Sounds like my youngest daughter (and me). I want her beside me during any kind of a conflict....
She could have cocked it which is more preferable for carrying 1911.
Don't lecture granny on cocks
Cocked and locked. Super safe and just a badass gun in general. I love my Springfield 1911.
Top Kek!
I would fucking LOVE open carry in FL. Concealed is bullshit, but happy to comply, for now
I want the option for both but I imagine I’d keep it concealed a majority of the time.
You get between Gam Gams and her Boniva and you’re eatin’ lead scum sucker!
#MakeComedyGreatAgain
As a short haired, non-lesbian, conceal carry Granny, I approve of this picture. Need more pictures like this.
Awesome!
Couldn't see what was wrong until someone pointed out the gun.
Tourettes Guy: "There's ladies everywhere, you dumbass"
I dunno about the lesbian part 🙂, but the origin of the photo is
Jul 29, 2010 - Brentwood, California, U.S. - Janice Cushman of Brentwood, CA goes shopping carry her handgun at Riley's in Brentwood.
The lesbian part is deliberate (feigned) stupidity. He's pretending that the reason why Wendy is shocked is because she thinks the woman is a lesbian, but we all know, as Nick does, that it's because she thinks open carry should somehow be illegal and that it hurts children. Which is a really dumb and ignorant remark.
Ps. Nice dig!
Thanks for the explanation, my brain wasn't properly processing the info for some reason. 🍻
Amazing messaging isn't it? Fuck around and find out.
FAFO!
😆
Permitless open carry or simply your right to keep and bear arms.
You can open carry in Virginia without a permit. Seeing this more and more often, it is really a beautiful thing.
Lmao!🐸
Lmao , that woman might see this and be upset , I hope she has a sence of humer.🤣
That's a nice gun.. That lady has style!
Open carry says “Shoot me first”.
That’s an old pic i believe that’s in Arizona.
LoL
The only woman being mocked is Wendy Hazelton.
and rightfully so.
