This movie needs no introduction. If you havent seen it. Watch it.
Happy Fourth of July everyone!
A widowed farmer, with a brave but brutal military past, decides not to join up when the British arrive in 1776. However, when his son enlists and is later captured by the enemy, the former soldier must abandon his new-found pacifist principles in order to rescue his oldest child, and forms a regiment of Carolina patriots, whose guerrilla tactics prove pivotal to the US war effort.
My antivirus app was throwing multiple warnings about attempted software downloads via javascript, so be careful when going to that link.
Use the Brave browser and adjust the Brave Shield to your tastes.
But wouldn't that imply we need to ignore a credible threat, or is it being suggested my avp is giving a false positive?
I dont know, because I'm not receiving one.
If you're uncomfortable, you can always watch it on Amazon.
Like Braveheart and The Passion Of Christ, Mel always did top notch cinematography.
In this era of his directing life he had a clear message to send to the public which was always Christian patriotic values. It's almost like he had a calling.
I get teared up watching his movies.
Conspiracy Theory is one of my favs.
I think he does.
"The Patriot" was directed by Roland Emmerich (who also directed "Independence Day" and "Midway").
Not to take away from Mel Gibson and The Patriot, for sure, but on a side note we saw the new Top Gun flick Friday night.
Anons were right! This, too, is a patriotic movie.
No woke, no vicious anti-America, no anti-military, no politics, no Critical Racist Teaching, no pro-islam or pro-commie, no "men are toxic and bad," no pimping for democrats, no shaming of our military veterans, no holding America up to ridicule, no faggotry or pedophilia on display...it's sad that this means it stands out as unique and truly a bizarre aberration among Hollywood productions, but there it is. Overall a great thrill ride of an action flick. Totally immersive, you can't help feeling like you're IN the cockpit of a jet screaming through the sky at impossible speeds. Check it out!
Tom Cruise doesn't need Hwood money. Formed his own production company few years back. Other than allowing himself to be gaslight and used by Scientology, I think he's his own man, probably a patriot
"OTHER THAN BEING OWNED BY SCIENTOLOGY I THINK HE'S HIS OWN MAN"
Scientologists are honestly probably patriots, because many countries would simply not allow them to exist. China woulda no-so-secret prison'd them immediately, and the Vatican would not allow someone to copy their business model so shamelessly on their home turf. Scientology owes the 1st Amendment a lot.
Scientology is a death cult started by occultists. Where's Shelley? DID L RON ACTUALLY DIE FROM OVERDOSE? How did Scn manage to infiltrate the IRS? What is Miscavige's family tree? Did Scn actually discover real paranormal phenomena and what did the government do with their "tech"? What happens to rank and file cult members who go "out ethics"?
Scientology is even worse than Mormonism. it's that bad. it's a money laundering scheme and there's blackhats using it to move about the world undetected.
I'll agree with you on scarier/worse. But which is funnier? Scientology centers all having a replica of L Ron Hubbard's office maintained exclusively for his use when he rematerializes? Or Mormon magic underwear/personal planet? Okay, Jesus leaving the apostles after his resurrection and instead of ascending to be at the right hand, going to Missouri and chilling with the Cherokee is also pretty funny. But then again, Scientology's scripture does contain the phrase "The clam is a deadly incident", which I can't stop chuckling at.
The story was cliche and boring but the fighter jet scenes were fun.
In hindsight i would have not gave hollywood the money and instead wait until I could pirate it.
If you can get around the hollywood people getting the $. Idk. It's hard to know who's part of the 'club'
Don't be surprised of it's available in some places already. I use Cinema HD on my forestick and a lot of times they have good quality links to movies still in theaters. If they release on digital platforms like HBO along side theaters, you 100% can find working links.
Last time I checked there were a ton of links, but I believe it was for another movie.
yes sir
Happy 4th! I'll watch it, thanks.
I wonder if TPTB got people to start saying happy 4th instead of happy independence day. They'd like for us to forget the true meaning.
I just thanked my friend from Bangladesh for wishing me a happy Independence Day and commented how no one ever gets it right and just spouts off the date.
Maybe because calling something Independence Day that doesn't actually occur on a date independence was won seems weird? And Declaration of Independence Day is too long? Also, American culture has since the Civil War in general moved TJ out of the spotlight in favor of more "neutral" military victors like Washington and Lincoln. This is due to a host of cultural factors that don't evenly fall on to one side of the culture wars, because most things are more complicated than that.
(but if you're asking me, which admittedly you aren't, the main benefit to the Powers That Be is the very liberal idea of rewriting history to pin the evils of slavery on one founder - a sort of historical queen's sacrifice, if you will. Keeping Washington and Lincoln as pure as possible is very important, because they are both first presidents in a way, and both won that status through military victory. Keeping civilians associating the military with neutrality and the practice of voting is necessary to creating a world where liberals are easily bullied into accepting, and then actively supporting the management of, the invasion of Iraq - liberals who then howl doomsday because they are truly convinced that Trump will involve us in unnecessary war)
I disagree. I prefer our tradition of saying Happy 4th of July. I really don't like how people are trying to change our traditions. No one has to say happy independence day for me to know that it's our independence day.
The tradition is actually Independence Day. You know, the official name of the federal holiday. This tradition was changed and replaced with historically illiterate people just referring to the date.
Yeah just like "Happy Holidays" instead of Merry Christmas.
Or Winter break instead of Christmas break.
Yes, I wish Everyone a happy 25th of December on Christmas, roo.
And happy third Thursday in November on Thanksgiving 😆
Great film, also Mel Gibson speaks truth about Hollywood.
I'm a Brit but its on telly tonight and never seen it so will give it a watch!
You will not like Banastre Tarleton.
I dont remember is being 3 hrs long! Happy Independence day fellow yanks
If you got four hours you can watch Gettysburg which took place on the 4th.
Lee's retreat started on the 4th. Battle was 1st-3rd. But yes, indeed it is an excellent film, mostly historically accurate, and a family tradition of ours that we watch it every year on July 1st-3rd. If I look at it like a film series, there's Gettysburg, then The Patriot the as the prequel, and Spielberg's Lincoln as the sequel.
"Turn" was a pretty accurate show about the revolution as well. There were some liberties taken, but overall it does a good job depicting the espionage component of the revolution.
This is the extended version
Watched this movie with Bro and spouse Saturday night - non stop fire crackers banging in the background in our neighborhood. Surreal effects were a addition to the acion on screen.
First time watching this. Great movie!
