I like the store...it’s just that EVERYTHING in it is “made in China”. Even one of the stores workers made this comment to me. She said they should change the name to Made in China...that it would be more correct.
The real question is whether they're doing anything to change that such as supporting small American businesses, changing vendors, and so on. If not, you can certainly draw your own conclusions.
Small American business is almost all food or service industries.
I've been exploring manufacturing. In China theybhave thousands of small shops doing stuff. On Ali baba you cam see the type of equipment they are using. Shit they will sell you the equipment t Nd ship it here.

You can specify US only. These are wholesalers/drop shippers. If you want to buy retail just look up the name of the US companies and you can find out what stores their prods are in. We need a GAW list of people creating products made in the USA! Can't "self promote" on here. If anybody starts a website about it please get the word out.
Me too. Sure should not be so hard to find specific items made in one's own country. There are sites devoted to this, though. View this situ as an potential opportunity. When our country's true president is back at the helm.
God forbid the Christians ever got together as a majority to impose our will like the LGBTQ ... Z group has done in America. Bad enough the LGBTQ ... Z group infiltrated and took down the Catholic Church of America. Time to regroup.
They had power up until about 2007 when things shifted away.
The problem is, they were just as tyrannical with power demanding Family Guy be pulled off the air because it's offensive, dancing on the graves of none believers claiming it was god's will or some such, book censorship and all the usual ways to control a society.
So no. No ideology should have supreme power. Laws need to be expanded to further limit government control and influence.
I didn't mention Westboro... and while they are a cult on their own, they aren't the only ones doing the things I mentioned.
Trying to isolate a part of the faith and cut it from the whole, is... a wasted effort. The truth is Christianity was started by a human man, Paul, and is therefor fallible like all the others. There is no correct religion and being insecure for corporate Christianity is a waste of time. Especially if you actually think for yourself then you'll notice the herd start to slowly push you away...
The unfortunate reality is that there are no sides... there are no teams, it's all an illusion to divide and control. And not to downplay having a personal relationship with Jesus or anything like that, but that's the grand irony of it: a PERSONAL relationship... yet if you share your perspective and it's not in alignment with the hierarchy of whatever church you're in, they're gonna slowly remove you until you feel unwelcome and leave. Saw it happen to my parents and very good family friends. If you're useful, the church will keep and exploit you. If you start asking questions and defying the established protocols, you'll be ostracized...
I understand people need the order and structure and religion is just a tool at the end of the day. My overall point is, Christianity is a false religion just like all the others. Spirituality is a personal journey that you must figure out for yourself. Anyone trying to speak with an authority in your life should be questioned and resisted. Conformity and control have harmed more lives than have helped and in the end we don't know what awaits us. Jesus didn't teach us how to be right... He showed us what IS right... and sometimes that means calling out the establishment religion as He did...
They would be done in short order, so of course they cry about this. Only reason they've made such huge gains is by tricking Christians into thinking we shouldn't apply our faith anywhere but inside a church building.
well wal mart does provide entertainment in the form of people getting into fist fights over random stuff so at least wal mart has some form of entertainment haha.
Well actually, yes you can argue with that logic, from the bible itself. There are plenty of counter examples of unbelievers especially in roles of authority acting more righteously in a particular situation than self-interested believers. Just one example off the top of my head is Abraham and Sarai in Egypt.
This is called natural law and is in the realm of common grace. To deny that God has blessed all peoples with good gifts of rain, sun, harvest, and everyday WISDOM is to be against the biblical teaching. Christians are NOT necessary for a peaceful and well functioning society, this current culture war is just more false dichotomies meant to divide and push for some kind of civil war. This is exactly the kind of European "Christendom" bloodbaths the founding fathers intended to exclude this nation from.
Their stores are so good! I live in Canada so every time I go to the US I make sure to go to at least one. I mainly do paper crafts but they have a ton of other stuff, too - I'm so impressed with how clean and organized their stores are, and they are massive.
I was in the US in June and my husband and I stopped at a Hobby Lobby and saw that they had 4-5 aisles of just 4th of July decorations - so we bought a cart-load and set it up at our house in Canada and probably offended all of our neighbours, lol. Red, white and blue wreath on the front door, American flags in the garden, etc. It was so fun.
Lol that's so cute. I used to shop at the local craft store even special ordered some yarn and it got sold out from under me the day it came in, this was after almost two months of waiting. She lost my business. Right now I have almost too much yarn lol.
I suppose you could order stuff, but I find that going in to a physical brick and mortar store gives you a better idea of what they are about. Example, I went into an Ollie's store the other day looking for a kiddie wading pool to use for compost for my garden. Just on entering the store I was smitten by how squalid the place was; dirty floors, barely enough light to see where to walk, people lined up 20 deep to check out; inventory just sort of jumbled everywhere. Fortunately a manager was at the front and I asked about the kiddie pool, and he told me they were out. Saved me from going deeper into the chaos...so I left.
Going in to a Hobby Lobby, I always notice the place is clean, well lit, inventory laid out so items are easy to find, and if you can't, a store clerk will always be glad to help you. Over the speakers they are always playing Christian music, although it's not so loud you can't hear yourself think, just truly "background" music. They have a framing section and I have had several art items framed by them. Sure they have a few kitschy items for hobbyists who like to make folk art items, but they also have a lot of stuff for serious artists (which I am not) and for people who like to make models and stuff.
Give it a try, you might like going into their store.
I see. Lucky you, living in a remote area, away from population centers! I live in east Tennessee, in a red county that has at its center a blue city about the size of Bismarck. Not remote enough for my tastes, but at least far enough away from the dysfunctions of that city. I figure that like all cities, the one I am near will go up in flames when the EBT cards stop flowing, but I do live far enough away that it won't affect me too much.
Good luck out there on the plains, good to know that the Great Awakening is happening out there too.
good to know that the Great Awakening is happening out there too.
It sure is, I have customers coming into my work telling me what's going on. I just smile and listen and sometimes throw in something else they can search.
So far life goes on pretty much normal here, even with the high fuel prices. Even the one guy who was a Biden supporter has been nice to me. Idk if he's still a Biden supporter lol.
I think Tennessee is beautiful I got to Knoxville when my daughter was in school. I loved Dollywood., and the Smokey Mountains.
I live near Knoxville, and the Smokies are about 45 minutes away. If you ever get back here, look for "the quiet side of the Smokies".... a town called Townsend. Not much tourist traffic there and they don't allow all the hoopla of tourist traps and such. And the drive into the Smokies from there is wonderful; the town goes right up to the park boundary.
You crochet or knit? I crocheted afghans but for the life of me couldn't knit. That is such a great escape and then boom you have a great reward! I am fortunate to have a very large Hobby Lobby near me. Good store!
You rock with sweaters. I made hairpin lace shawls many moons ago that were pretty. Isn't it fun to have a homemade afghan! Unfortunately dog's claws can ruin them. I made one for each of the kids but two of the blanets got claw holes. So I switched to the tied fleece blankets and those are pretty indestructible. We were blessed to learn sewing in school and that all started me on the handiwork path. I really had forgotten about so many of the interesting crafting channels that were on. This whole thing we are in now has been pretty all consuming. I have always made whatever I wanted or needed and that has given me many hours of joy. Have fun and carry on!
Oh I wish I could do hairpin lace I have a friend that used to do hardanger. My sister makes tied fleece blankets.
Tip, so it doesn't get fuzzballs and stays soft when you wash it use a quarter cup of white vinegar in the rinse and air dry it. I use mine with my afghan during naps.
My favorite pattern to work with is C2C, although I've done a ton of granny squares and just plain double crochet afghans too. I'm currently working on a sampler afghan for my niece.
Don't be afraid to evaluate your situation and take something outside your field that pays the bills and doesn't force you to compromise.
I know it's a scary thought... I won't go into all me details but I have "lost" a lot only to gain newfound happiness with less and a realization that job grinds are NOT why we are here... If money and material things is what you want, well... that is your business. But just know that if you gave up your luxuries to live simple, you would get no judgement from me. Your value is equal to the richest and poorest man.
This is what I am trying and planning to do here shortly. Believe me, I've already given up a lot. I have some leftover divorce debt I am paying down and then I will be living as simply as is possible in Bidens America.
First, that ad came out on July 4th last year. Second, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, in that store is made in China and absolute garbage. I love their values, but they really need to operate by them. Throwing endless money at Xi is not very Christian. I'd rather pay a little extra for non-Chinese goods that don't fall apart in a few weeks.
Considering they supply Chinese goods while preaching "muh Christianity" it wouldn't surprise me. Those people are hypocrites exploiting their ideology to bring in business.
Bronon, don't even get me started... the Uyger (too lazy tu spel) genocide alone should make them reconsider their business sources... they are not fighting the good fight, they are very much a part of the machine, the illusion, the deception...
As regards China and shipping where are we seeing a few months back backlogs of thousands and thousands and thousands of cargo ships both in China and in the US?
I remember down by Long Beach this being the case and in China it was staggering
China is still trying to play games with Covid and I’m not sure if shipping is gotten back to normal there but notice how the story is completely disappeared???
Personally, i was introduced to Hobby Lobby by my fiance. Pretty nifty store with nice odds and ends for decorating or making things. I remember hearing them talked about in a very negative manner about 10 years ago, but cant remember or find out what it was that related to the bad PR. If i knew about whatever it was back then, it orobably would make me like the store even more now.
Kinda funny thing, when my renewed ccw permit came in after it expired, one of the first trips out where i carried was to a hobby lobby. My fiance said they probably wont appreciate someone carrying a full size pistol on their hip through the store because of how religous they are. I told my fiance, they probably would like me even more. 😄
Which denomination? Catholics ( for those that consider Catholics to be Christians) or Protestant? Baptists or Presbyterians? Methodist or Lutherans? Calvinists or Amish?
It seems great until someone who believes something very different than you is in power and pushes their beliefs on everyone.
And that whole thing with the First Amendment might get in the way a bit...
I like the store...it’s just that EVERYTHING in it is “made in China”. Even one of the stores workers made this comment to me. She said they should change the name to Made in China...that it would be more correct.
Peppe you gave the sane response.
I.myself am exploring some niches to produce some products for sale.
Amen. Don't ya miss a simple golden brown toasted piece of bread?
The real question is whether they're doing anything to change that such as supporting small American businesses, changing vendors, and so on. If not, you can certainly draw your own conclusions.
Small American business is almost all food or service industries.
I've been exploring manufacturing. In China theybhave thousands of small shops doing stuff. On Ali baba you cam see the type of equipment they are using. Shit they will sell you the equipment t Nd ship it here.
Simply not enough .anufactureres in u.s. anymore.
Alibaba is a highly questionable company though. Checked into many sources for things when I sold on Amazon and did not want to sell Chinese stuff. May I suggest Worldwide Brands company. You can specify US only. These are wholesalers/drop shippers. If you want to buy retail just look up the name of the US companies and you can find out what stores their prods are in. We need a GAW list of people creating products made in the USA! Can't "self promote" on here. If anybody starts a website about it please get the word out.
This is a a business opportunity. Take note of these items and start a business making them.
Some will see.
Me too. Sure should not be so hard to find specific items made in one's own country. There are sites devoted to this, though. View this situ as an potential opportunity. When our country's true president is back at the helm.
And like a good Supply Side Jesus follower, here you are making excuses for corporations and consumers...
Jeez dude, take a break.
No.
Where else are rhey making the thi gs they sell? Deep state desig ed it. Find some stuff they sell and make it here v
Wokky Robby
Never been in one. Apparently, never will.
Thanks for the intel!

Westboro Baptist church types are not Christians, they pretend to be to invoke people.

welp time to go shopping at Hobby Lobby.
I was thinking the same thing.
Might as well go to Walmart

I like their stores. Sadly don't get in much bc they're closed on Sundays and my evil job only gives us that day off
I've never been, to one but I'd love to. I think I will order some yarn from them when my stash needs replenishing.
Make sure to rearrange the block letters in the store to read "TRUMP WON" as I did when you go there.
Every time!!!
Yep...I do it everytime I'm in the store and not just Hobby Lobby but every where that has alphabetical letter I can rearrange.
Lol most definitely.

Oh gosh I can spend hours in there! Amazing stores. Their Christmas decor selection is unbeaten and always on sale in season!
Sounds like your fault for continuing to work there.
I am endeavoring to change my situation but there are limited options in my field at the moment
Don't be afraid to evaluate your situation and take something outside your field that pays the bills and doesn't force you to compromise.

What?! Christian fundamentalists are hypocrites!?! I'm shocked I tells ya! Just shocked!!!
Some patriot citizen reporters have asserted that the family behind Mardel’s/Hobby Lobby are not Christian but are Satanists. Anyone else hear that?
Considering they supply Chinese goods while preaching "muh Christianity" it wouldn't surprise me. Those people are hypocrites exploiting their ideology to bring in business.
I just can't shop for stuff made by slaves... I don't shop much lol.
But them touting their faith and then not caring about the slave labor used to make their wares doesn't sit right with me.
Bronon, don't even get me started... the Uyger (too lazy tu spel) genocide alone should make them reconsider their business sources... they are not fighting the good fight, they are very much a part of the machine, the illusion, the deception...
Exactly. My inability to spell is what held me back from mentioning them.
I'm sick of the people that whine "everything is made there what can you do? " like they have no choice in the world.
Why do they give Sunday off and fought to not keep birth control medicine in their insurance policies??
Because they have a role to play?
Not saying it’s true. Just wondering if anyone has anything substantive on this.

This link discusses the SC ruling that I believe Hobby Lobby won. I have issues reading legalese
I have a question
As regards China and shipping where are we seeing a few months back backlogs of thousands and thousands and thousands of cargo ships both in China and in the US?

Any info pedes ??
No info, but Hobby Lobby never seemed to suffer any sort of supply chain issues!!
The drag queen called Catholicism, the branch run by pedos "normal" again?
Until Jesus comes back, the Constitution is the answer and yes, that means barring all ideologies from absolute power.
I was in Hobby Lobby a few months ago for certain church supplies.
I was stunned to find they had Gundam model kits.
I mean, yeah, it's in the store's name, but Gundam are SO hard to put together that I'm still surprised they'd stock them!
Love Hobby Lobby! Warm, helpful, and friendly people .
Wish they sold more stuff I needed.

Hobby Based Lobby
Agreed, we should be.
I was thinking of taking up scrapbooking soon. Guess I'll be heading over to Hobby Lobby.
Here is an article about the Hobby Lobby ads in case anyone is interested:
