By day 5 I was fevering on the flight home. I remember asking why they kept the aircraft so cold. I got home and found it was super cold there, too. After one of those 'duh!' moments, I took my temperature. It was103.8.
Soon, a bad headache, extreme vertigo, vomiting and diarrhea hit me. By day 7 my tiny cough turned into a bronchial spasm that made me cough so hard I felt like my chest was being stabbed by needles and the whites of my eyes were bursting capillaries.
For 6 weeks I coughed relentlessly while I laid in bed exhausted. The coughing spasms just wouldn't stop. I'd never experienced that before. Sometimes I'd check the mirror to see if I could see any burst capillaries in my chest, but I never could. The whites of my eyes however, were very red.
Even worse, in addition to smell and taste loss, my hearing was dulled, also.
It was nearly 18 months before I could say my taste and smell was mostly back. My ears didn't fully recover and I had to get hearing aids! The good news is that I am pretty sure I am immune to the CV-19 as I've been around several people who were sick and I got nothing .
So that is why I think I had the 'original COVID' which seemed to fit the description of today's CV-19.
The smell and taste loss was not just inflamed sinuses. It was like it severed the olfactory and auditory senses and nothing would bring them back for a very long time.
What if I can still taste everything just fine when I do that and the same for when I’m really sick? I have a bad habit of eating as if I’m fine and throwing it up when it’s a bad stomach bug. I don’t lose my appetite at all unless something causes my stomach to hurt

We have learned that the progression of the CV-19 virus goes this way: the virus attacks the red blood cells, reducing their oxygen carrying capability which causes systemic vascular inflammation which then triggers a headache, fever and micro-clotting to start. The lungs go into distress next as they are not receiving enough oxygen-rich blood and the lungs try to assist by triggering a cough. The cough is unproductive and becomes constant.
If they are treating him with Paxlovid (instead of Remdesivir), and giving him blood thinners, steroids and supplemental oxygen, he'll probably pull through. But, if he is not given blood thinners, the virus will continue to build clots, resulting in a potential stroke or embolism.

"Oh, very well, but I can write you a prescription right away." Hmmm. I took home the release information to see what she had provided me. Just the names of the drugs, no other information. I had to look them up. They both are experimental under EUA. So, this bitch doctor (she was a woman) was willing to prescribe for me at the drop of a hat either of two experimental drugs WITHOUT ANY STEP TOWARD OBTAINING INFORMED CONSENT. Totally unprofessional. I would call it malpractice.
But from my pre-existing heart condition, I was also taking Pradaxa, the Cadillac of blood thinners (at least on price), and got through with coughing, yes, but also hawking up the usual grey-green crud, which took over a week to clear. What interested me about Biden's case was the prescription of an inhaler with Albuterol. Just a quick look indicates it is used for asthma as a bronchospasm inhibitor. In other words, to stop him from coughing. I don't see that as a friendly move, if the purpose of coughing is to clear the lungs of crud. That is where an expectorant would have made sense. But I am no doctor...(as are some doctors).
