Safe, fast, cheap global movement of goods will soon be only a memory, and at the same time, the world's demographics will continue aging -- with ever-fewer young people to fill workforces and pay taxes (along with other demographic problems). That combination, plus other factors, will disrupt every nation -- a process which has already begun.
America will be better positioned than almost anywhere else -- as it has been for the past 150 years or more -- but the disruptions will still be serious even there.
The End of the World is Just the Beginning: Mapping the Collapse of Globalization by Peter Zeihan
Interested in an intelligent, well-sourced look at the world as different from the mainstream view as Q is from CRT? Zeihan, also author of The Accidental Superpower: The Next Generation of American Preeminence and the Coming Global Disorder, is an author you shouldn't miss.
From the book's Amazon page:
2019 was the last great year for the world economy. For generations, everything has been getting faster, better, and cheaper. Finally, we reached the point that almost anything you could ever want could be sent to your home within days - even hours - of when you decided you wanted it. America made that happen, but now America has lost interest in keeping it going. Globe-spanning supply chains are only possible with the protection of the U.S. Navy. The American dollar underpins internationalized energy and financial markets. Complex, innovative industries were created to satisfy American consumers. American security policy forced warring nations to lay down their arms. Billions of people have been fed and educated as the American-led trade system spread across the globe. All of this was artificial. All this was temporary. All this is ending.
The Banking Cabal subverted the true market capitalism using their fiat currency "magic money" and artificially accelerated growth in technologies that allowed them to enslave the world.
It was not Americans who did it. It was the Cabal. And there was nothing benign in it.
Since it was not benign capitalism, it is not really a question of Atlas Shrugging, but rather Atlas is just Waking up now and getting rid of the criminals. Real market capital economy is yet to start and it will be glorious. It wont be America vs the World. It will be the entire world working with each other the way it should have always been.
I agree with you, bubble_bursts, and it's pretty much (the banking cabal part in particular) the way I've seen things since my twenties (long ago). And I've always felt the same way about America's overseas coups and wars, which were clearly corrupt frenzies and horrors.
What I'd never really noticed is that in the process of getting the world to TRADE with each other, and protecting ocean transport militarily as well as diplomatically, America allowed for greatest increase in global prosperity in human history. Even with the Cabal and the corruption, America has overall been a force for peace and increased human welfare in the world.
From The End of the World is Just the Beginning:
Back to your comments: Q and events over the last 5 or 6 years has me believing (mostly) that yes, "It will be the entire world working with each other the way it should have always been." That's an amazing and warm-hearted idea, and I think it might come to pass.
But there are many threads and forces in the world; geopolitical, demographic, and others that neither politics nor Austrian economics fully (or in many cases at all) even considers. Zeihan's books are worth reading IMO for a look through different lenses at the incredible point in time we are living through.
I want everyone to look through the lens where they are able to differentiate "America" which the world perceives mostly as the government, military, corporates and financial system, and "Americans" which comprises of the people of America.
People, especially outside the US, do not differentiate between the two, and hence most arguments such as "American is great" vs "America is evil" happens.
As defined, "America" comprising of the government, military, corporates and financial systems is one of the most evil forces in the history of mankind.
"Americans" on the other hand are one of the most benign and powerful positive force, again in the history of mankind.
It is very important for everyone to acknowledge these two points - both Americans and people from the rest of the world. There is no Great Awakening, until these two points are acknowledged.
The reason why I don't particularly like reading articles like the OP, even though its chock full of information thats invaluable, is because its very much looking at the picture from inside the matrix - at the vantage of the executives, who can understand what is going on, but dont understand why or who is causing it (since they themselves are agents of this cause, its very hard to see from outside).
They still believe that the whole world has the structure it has organically. For example every one of these statements below assume the world view that every country was free to come up with actions they chose, and they chose these particular actions.
or this
or this
The truth is, none of the countries had any ounce of true autonomy, and if they made any choices not in line with the goals of the Cabal, they would be punished one way or another. So where the author sees the whole world organically forming themselves into the way they are, I see a whole world carefully managed from the shadows to be formed into exactly how they are now.
As long as you can always keep this in mind, that the viewpoint is written from inside the matrix, you can still gain value from this.
I personally stopped celebrating any entity, no matter what kind of progress it caused in any part of the world, because its not benign progress.
The only people I celebrate and truly thank are the red blooded Americans and their love for freedom and liberty and their guns, which is the only thing that has kept the whole world alive up to this point. Everything else is an illusion.
Hard agree, except that in addition to thanking just freedom-loving Americans, I would add freedom-loving patriots from every country in the world.
This is a great comment. Thank you.
I want that also and have always seen things that way -- I believe most (sane) Americans (and probably most foreigners) do as well. During the Vietnam war, anti-war protests became HUGE and it was clear that people weren't protesting against the American public but rather against the few who set policy (and were thus responsible for the horrors of the war). From https://www.history.com/topics/vietnam-war/vietnam-war-protests :
I believe that Americans not only love their "freedom and liberty and their guns" but also have a sense of brotherhood and compassion for their fellow man, and that even with the corruption within our institutions, American policies aimed at letting other nations participate fully in the global economy -- which vastly improved the lives of millions, pulling over a BILLION people up out of subsistence-level poverty beginning after WWII -- were largely the result of that widespread sense of brotherhood that the American public has manifested since the Revolution.
I can't quantify that and it's possible I'm giving this dynamic more weight than it deserves, but I have to say, reading Zeihan's The End of the World is Just the Beginning has strengthened my sense that America, both as a nation and as a collection of human beings, is really the keystone in moving Mankind away from evil and towards both freedom and compassion. This has been opposed and somewhat hidden by the Cabal's ever-stronger influence, but THAT, finally, is coming to an end; the dismantling has already begun.
Your leaving out freedom loving Christians that built and modeled this nation on God’s wisdom. They literally came sealing religious freedom with a plan to make a new society that offered it.
You seem to be under the delusion that evil is going to cease to exist, that the same ring of power that has heretofore been the great corrupting agency will effect a different condition in the hearts of men, that human nature itself is magically going back to Eden. I'd like to think you're right, but never seen yet a basket of fruit un-rot, and thus believe mankind will continue to decay until Jesus comes back to claim his faithful.
Tolkien v. Power
You will see this, and you will understand why this process had to be this painful. If this was just another power shift without fundamentally altering the dynamic of Evil vs Good, Trump could have cut a deal, put away most of DC into prison, ruled over for a few decades as a dynasty.
The truth is, most people, contrary to what it has been portrayed time and again by all the books, art, movies etc, just want to get along with their lives. It takes great effort and huge amount of resources to wage wars. These resources come in the form of "magic money".
Think about this for a moment as an example. Clinton started grooming the islamic terrorists in 90s, and Bush nurtured it and Obama fertilised it. For two decades every resource was thrown towards it, to create hate in the hearts of people and for brainwashing them and for training them and for arming them, and yet after Trump came , in just under 2 years all that was history. Why was this? Because people dont want to live with hate in their hearts.
We have rarely ever glimpsed at humanity which was not being actively weaponised against itself for the gains of the powerful. We are at the cusp of a moment where its possible to see that. I sure hope we do.
I am with you. People left to their own devices will not rampage and kill each other. It is in our hearts to love one another. All the wars were started by evil people hungry for POWER, more POWER still, it feeds upon itself.
As long as there is a power group unanswerable to the people that group will always agitate for yet more power. Our only hope to to behead the D.C. behemoth and force government back to a state level where it is answerable to the people. Those that represent the people must once again fear the people. Our king no longer fears the peasants.
Another thing to remember in future. If we ever find ourselves thinking, or hear someone else saying "Its best if we don't tell this to the people, for their own good" - whether it be something like Aliens, or an impending asteroid, or the fact that our country is bankrupt - does not matter what it is - if its true, then people have a right to know it. No one has the right to decide what people can handle or not.
Darkness nurtures fear, and fear enables evil.
That's the way I see it too.
beautiful
Just a reminder that it was we English who were the force behind the British Empire. Because we are a small island and of necessity developed massively superior naval capability it was us who absolutely ruled the world and us who really started the "safe, fast, cheap global movement of goods."
Later on we unfortunately had a righteous butt-kicking from the Americans (only because they had the help of the French and Russians) and we had to hand over our boss chair to America who took it from there.
But if America folds it does not mean "the end of everything." Someone else will take on the mantle same as before. Looks like Russia and/or China to me.
Is this correct? Isn't America still a British colony? I dont think Britain ever lost control of anywhere...all countries turned into corporations .all citizens turned into corporations....still controlled by England through Washington the Vatican and London.
Zeihan covers the British Empire, and Spain and Portugal and a LOT more, pointing out the strengths of each in their time, both in terms of Empire and in terms of the movement towards industrialization (which Britain was the first to really get underway, of course).
His point about America -- one of his points; he is VERY thorough and wide-ranging in his data and analysis -- is that America had (and still has) the ONLY globe-spanning Navy and other military that could guarantee free and safe ocean passage of goods world-wide EDIT: during the past 70 years or so (Zeihan goes into some detail on this). The vast majority of global trade goes, and can ONLY go, by ocean carrier for economic and other reasons. For centuries, theft and destruction by pirates and hostile governments made ocean shipping dangerous enough to prevent anything like today's reliance on overseas suppliers, denying use of the most cost-effective sources and preventing access to some of the highest quality components that could ONLY be made elsewhere. Not to mention preventing anything like today's global RETAIL trade. From the book:
Today, Ford is -- for the second time in about a year -- sitting on a HUGE pile of F-150s that cannot be finished for lack of computer chips. Here's last year when the pile was 60,000 unfinished vehicles and counting.
And THAT's when things are still basically working normally. The issue of American oversight and of American arm-twisting and carrot-supplying to get nations and regions to trade peacefully with places that are NOT inclined to friendly relations with certain other nations or regions hasn't yet even become an issue.
But it will, Zeihan says, and he makes a good case.
As for China . . . Zeihan details a wide range of reasons why China is more screwed than even I had believed. China will absolutely NOT have the financial, military (esp. naval), demographic, or other strengths needed to "take on the mantle." I do worry that the situation for China is SO bad that they may feel pushed into kinetic war with the US (which has pretty much everything China lacks and covets).
Same for Russia, which is in a much better position than much of the world but not, per Zeihan, anywhere near capable of taking over the job America has been shouldering for the last 70 years or so.
On the claim of "us who really started the "safe, fast, cheap global movement of goods", I am thinking, at least in the known world that the Roman Empire might have that claim.
Again, I want to make the same distinction between "English people" and the "English power structure". English people weren't the force behind British Empire, it was the power structure - the government, monarchy, miilitary and most importantly the banking system.
Its the same exact people behind the American empire and they hope to be behind Russia/Chinese empire as well.
It is never America vs Britain vs Russia vs China. Its always we the people vs the evil.
Brix countries with a gold backed currency. The dollar is toast.
Financial collapse. Global starvation. Mass death from the vaccine. I have no idea how any of this can be stopped regardless of who is in charge. Only a Red Sea event could possibly save us from certain destruction. Only God can save us at this point.
I feel exactly the same on some days, and maybe you're right: only Divine action can save us. But perhaps that action will be performed through the use of human beings, in which case we won't see it as other than luck and human intelligence.
Countries will have to rebuild their own supply chains. I think that's possible, even with the older workforce, if the cabal boot is removed from peoples necks so that the producers get properly paid.
If you have to have Russian made thermionic valves or top quality Japanese electronics, you might have to pay more and wait. For cars and everyday junk, perhaps it can be made locally again.
Maybe I'm stupid but when some says we could not exist without world trade, it makes me ask what would be the case of by some turn of creation the United States "was" the only country that rose above the oceans? Would people ceased to exist, I think not.
From the hills of east Tennessee, this post and the responses are a welcome breeze of fresh air and interesting thought-provoking banter. Thanks to all of you here, OP particularly.
Thank you for that comment, TNBanjoMan. I posted this partly because I know most of us here enjoy thinking outside the box and aren't afraid to consider alternative paradigms -- we wouldn't be here otherwise. I believe Zeihan's point of view -- far more complex and with more depth than I can show here -- is a good compliment to the Great Awakening. Also, Zeihan is a damn good writer and his books are as engaging as a good novel.
And by the way, I shared your post in an email. I have a distribution list of about 300 people that I call the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. I stole the name from Hillary Clinton, and the group is made up of conservatives across the country and in England.
I've gotten some good feedback from the group on the puece. Just thought you'd like to know.
Wow, thanks again!
Cheers. It's all good.
That's pretty much Zeihan's view, although he makes clear that the transition will be more painful than we'd like and in many places, the end result will NOT be good. Geography and demography will play large roles in how things shake out.
Im just here for the moass
To be honest: I don't want the current way of life maintained. There's things like a level playing field that don't correspond with our current way of life. And, despite the cabal using buzzwords like sustainability: I want that, but not the way they want it.
We have to think about, what we're doing, and I bet my ass off that there are technologies helping us (aka the whole world) to develop a better way of life than we have now.
Like this, yes.
For real, I hate our growing dependence on technology like our phones, that have become a sort of ball and chain to us all, and quickly becoming as much of a requirement to own in the 1st world as cars are for the USA and other places.
Sounds like to think mankind is magically going back to the Garden of Eden.
The end times have begun and our days as a race (globally) are coming to an end. Another exodus awaits - how will you spend the rest of your lives? Wars, famine, pestilence, earthquakes, tsunamis and worse and worse conditions for all are only the beginning. It's not an accident that we feel stronger than ever an urge from divinity to turn our lives around, because that's all we can do: save our individual souls.
I look at that as a different great reset. But you're right, a reset of of one form or another is coming.
