IQ scores are absolute BULLSHIT.
Yes, i have had my IQ tested professionally, and the tests they use, in my opinion, didn’t really measure IQ at all.h
For example, i was given the “tinker-toy-test” where i proceeded to build a fully functional robot, that greatly impressed these professionals.
They didn’t bother to ask me if i had any prior experience with tinker toys, because if they did, they would have realized that i was probably going to do much better than people who didn’t have years of experience.
But ask me to throw a baseball in the strike zone, and im gonna fail that IQ test every time.
My sister was also professionally IQ tested, and she got a very high score, simply for being able to pick up pennies and put them in a cup, faster than average.
They didn’t bother to consider if my sister had some other advantage, such as long fingernails, that allowed her to pick up pennies easier than someone with short fingernails.
long fingernails = high IQ
short fingernails = low IQ
Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
Anyway, i was given a high IQ score, which was very easy for me to want to believe, whether it was true or not.
I mean, who wouldn’t want to believe they are smarter than average?
But eventually, some things just didn’t add up.
If my IQ score was so high, then why am i always the dumbest person in the room?
Why am i always the last person to laugh at a joke?
Why am i always the last person to understand a new concept?
Why am i always the last person to see a false flag?
If IQ scores distribution follows a bell-curve that peaks at 100, then why does everyone i know have an IQ over 100?
Eventually, it occured to me that these fake IQ scores are BULLSHIT,
And then i started to wonder why they would give people fake IQ scores,
And the answer that occured to me, was that they want to convince EVERYONE that they are smarter than average,
Because once you can convince EVERYONE that they are the smartest person in the room, then you can manipulate and control them easier, and prevent them from ever coming to any kind of consensus on anything,
Especially if you can feed different “smart” people contradictory versions of facts, and encourage them to argue about it.
We are now at the point now, where “highly intelligent women” struggle to even define “woman”, precisely because they are so smart, so educated, so woke…
When there is any disagreement, the knee-jerk reaction of the people who assume they are smart, is to assume the other person is stupid.
And thats by design.
for example, its a common belief in the trans-sexual/trans-gender community to assume that they are exceptionally smart, and anyone who doesn’t believe what they believe,
“just doesn’t get it”.
in other words, we are just too stupid to understand that people who were born male can become female, by willpower alone.
It will never occur to them that they are in fact stupid, and that males will never be females.
Its you thats stupid, not them.
Think back to the COVID-19 pandemic, and vaccines.
Didn’t a lot of the arguments boil down to “smart people trust science, and only stupid people question the science” ?
Facts didn’t matter. What mattered is what we thought about the IQ of the person presenting the facts.
If we like the facts, we assume the person presenting them must be smart like us.
If we don’t like the facts, then we assume the person presenting them must be stupid.
Anyway, think of 10 people you know.
Are you smarter than all 10 people?
Are all 10 people smarter than you?
Do these 10 people presumably have IQ scores that follow a bell-curve, meaning 5 people have an IQ less than 100?
Give me 5-years, a $100 Million budget and a fully staffed Ukrainian secret laboratory.... and I'll develop a fish that can climb trees. :>)
That's some high-quality comedy writing, right there.
But your grant proposal will be declined.
You asked for such a small amount of money, they'll know you're not 'one of them'.
What we need to do is give this fish gain-of-function... in his fins. AWW DAMMIT! We made Covid again.
Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!
That's interesting that you say that in terms of the vax. I am an RN and I can't tell you how many people said to me, when learning that I am not vaxxed, said, "You're an RN! You, of all people, should know better!" uhhhh .... yes, I do!
Anyway, I agree with your theory that it's a score used to control people. Sway the thinking one way or another. Like Dr Fauci, "I AM THE SCIENCE" Plenty of people are really smart that wouldn't necessarily score well on an iq test. And more people have iq less than 100 than you would think.
I believe the brain is like the rest of our body in that you are given certain advantages/disadvantages via genetics and environmental exposures. You could have excellent, sturdy bone structure and muscles but if you don't practice and specialize you won't be a world class athlete. Same with our brains. You may have all the neurons but if you haven't taught them to fire with practice where are you? If you've never thought about how you think............ you haven't really learned to think at all.
Absolutely agree with this statement. If you don't think about how you think you will be forever trapped by your own blind-spots and we all have them.
Picking up pennies or building robots or brainstorming ways to use a paperclip are not very rigorous, and can't give a reliable score. It needs to be spacial reasoning, pattern recognition, exception recognition etc at pace.
One thing I have noticed is Americans almost universally make claims to high IQ scores, and if this is where they are getting them from then that explains a lot to me.
Back when I was 17 I did the Mensa exam and scored IQ 136 which was at that time top 1% and enough to become a member. I didn't join for two reasons, 1. couldn't afford it but mainly 2. I couldn't trust myself not to tell people Oh yah I'm in Mensa, it didn't fit with how I wanted to be.
But since then, I have heard so many people who are so evidently not that clever claim to have scores between 125 to 145 and it is just not credible, having interacted with them.
One of the best ways to judge someone's intelligence is their "comprehension time" or response time to a question. Clever people can be observed almost immediately saying "yes" to a question and then proceeding to deliver a few sentences that contain unusual insight, and my experience is that it extremely rare.
Those 125-145 people are doing iq tests on the internet. ha!
My (other) sister has TWO PhDs, and graduated Suma Cum Laude, and by all academic measures is the smartest person in any room shes in.
But shes literally the dumbest person ive ever met.
She didn’t even know how men can get pregnant!
So i had to explain to her how people who are AFAB but later identify as men, are still capable of getting pregnant.
Instead of rejecting this utter nonsense, she accepted it!
Which is weird, because how did i know, and she didnt?
But even worse than that, is what she did with the COVID vaccines.
Being a typical science-worshipping liberal, she volunteered to be a guniea pig for COVID vaccines, and was enrolled in a scientific study.
She developed blood clots in her heart, and her brain, and wound up in the ER-ICU and almost died.
Because she was in this study, a bunch of doctors took a very special interest in her case,
So these doctors hemmed and hawwed, before finally asserting that the blood clots were NOT caused by the vaccine.
And my sister, being a “doctor” herself, decided to defer to the judgement of other “doctors”,
And to reject whatever her stupid brother says about vaccines, because he’s just an under-educated idiot.
So of course i followed-up with some questions, like,
No tests
No, no real guidance on that.
Nope, no idea what else might have caused the blood clots. No interest in following-up and preventing the next blood clot.
Eventually, she reluctantly (because shes lying?) claimed that the real reason for her blood clots is because she fell down.
Fell down?
You mean like all those other people who collapse after a vaccine?
Yeah, and when she fell, she broke her neck, and had internal bleeding.
And i’m skeptically listening to this very late addition to the story. Like, if you really fell down and broke your neck, im pretty sure you would have mentioned it sooner, without my goading.
And furthermore, how did those blood clots get past the BBB?
So of course, me being the asshole, helpfully suggested that she should take even more vaccines!
And im pretty sure she is still taking vaccine boosters, you know, because vaccines work.
Shes currently NEET.
Crazy world.
I did that test and joined London Mensa. It was full of pontificating throbbers who competed with each other for the dubious title of supreme intellect of all time.
They talked incomprehensibly about theories only they understood, I got into conversation with one of these loons who lectured me about how the subjective world doesn't exist, so I threw my beer over him. I never went back there.
Meme time: The vax has been proven to alter IQ. Variance as much as 17% in some cases.
Meaning it lowers it. Causes dumb people to get really dumb.
Great post. I'm pretty sure that I routinely over-estimate my intelligence, and also that I routinely under-estimate it. One of civilization's many flaws is that it places a high value on some vaguely defined thing called intelligence.
A retired teacher I know once described Grouse as being stupid. I challenged him on it, and he reasserted his firm belief that they were as dumb as a rock. The land I live on is a haven for grouse and I observe their behaviour all the time. I often find myself frustrated and flustered by my homesteading challenges, only to see a Grouse casually going about its daily activities without any effort. Humans have been brilliant in terms of the complexity they've been able to create in the world, but we're as dumb as rocks when it comes to living on this planet.
I always argued if you took the Mensa test and did well enough to become a member, the only thing it proved was that's you're really good at taking tests.
i got hired to do a job, and was given raises every time i would demonstrate mastery of new skills. I completed the training program in record time (5 months).
The truth is, i didn’t know anything. I was just good at taking tests.
There was another guy there who was only half-way thru the training program, after 5 years. But this guy was more competent than me, but unfortunately he had very bad test anxiety, so he failed the tests.
Kinda sucks getting a raise you know you don’t deserve, while the guy who clearly does deserve it, makes a lot less than you.
I am the same way at work. It doesn't bother me now because the faster I get out of training the faster I can go do actual work, but a couple days my HS friends struggled with the SATs even they were just as smart as I am, if not more so. It actually made me feel guilty, bit then I remember we all have different talents, and mine was test taking. Besides, one of those friends has her doctorates, so it didn't hold her back.
Good thinking here. Maybe you are smarter than everyone.
I have discovered that magic mushrooms are wonderful for killing the over-inflated ego that most people don’t even realize they have.
I'm on the higher end too, but it's just bs. A better one would be EQ (Emotional Quotient).
I once got into a discussion with someone about that equation: 8 ÷ 2(2+2)
Some user was like "i'm a MENSA member and i know it's 16 and only 16" when i was telling them it could be 1 or 16 because the equation wasn't clear and there's different ways to learn math. That's when i realized MENSA is a joke.
So what is the answer, 1 or 16? Don't answer, the point is, equation is ambiguous, and people have learned math differently. Meaning it needs to be clearer, such as..
adding the * between 2 and (: 8 ÷ 2 * (2+2) (to get 16), or..
surrounding the 2(2+2) with parenthesis and adding a * 8 ÷ (2 * (2+2)) (to get 1)
You talk about calculators, but they are just compiled programs that had the programmers learning in (you can find calculators finding this to be both 1 and 16). however if you were to plug this into a compiler:
it's not going to let you compile that because it's ambiguous, and it's going to complain around the area of 2(
But both:
and
will compile because it's clear and not ambiguous. First resulting in 1, the 2nd resulting in 16.

Gives us the answer:
You have said a mouthful on the IQ test scores...I didn't thin about IQ until I took the ASFAB test...the test for IQ for the military...I thought I was somewhat of a brain dead person BUT the IQ MILITARY test proved otherwise...so in other words..be careful!!!
You pose a great point. Smart is relative. I'm smarter in situations than others and dumber in many more. I think true smarts is the ability to learn from your errs and not make the same mistakes again. Also, analytics play a part, but that often doesn't come naturally as you may have to mess up really badly to apply what you've learned to analyze future scenarios. P.S. I am really dumb at anything mechanical-- like Patrick Star dumb.
a team of doctors, during an involuntary inpatient commitment to a psyche ward for a court order evaluation.
the team claimed that i was highly intelligent, and would one day become a "master criminal", and they recommended long term incarceration.
thank God the judge didn't listen to them...
judge cut me some slack,
i got myself reformed, finished junior high, and high school, and even went to college.
i even was the jury foreman on a case, in this same courthouse.
ashamed to say we convicted a man, based on the fact that he was black, and that he was writing notes with his left hand, and the robber in the video was left handed.
even though the DNA evidence ruled out this defendant, as being the person carrying his phone at the time of the crime.
the judge who cut me some slack, was a black man.
i wonder what that team of doctors thinks of Q anons...
Just so you know OP, the top of the bell curve is the highest distribution of that value so yes you should be meeting more people with an IQ of 100 than any other IQ value. That's what the apex of the curve means. However I agree people are waaaay dumber than they think they are.
I spent all my INT points on WIS
(Shout out to all the D&D fans out there)
