Has anyone utilized baking soda as a means to raise your ph? I know all of the info out there talking about using it as a way to combat cancer.
I feel I haven’t been overdoing it, but today my body felt like a wreck. Almost like I may have created an alkalosis state and My body reacted by creating acid to balance. Joints hurt like a mother. Very fatigued but getting better with hydration.
I’m also curious about the impacts on blood pressure as baking soda ingestion creates a ton of salt. Thanks for any info/experience.
I don't know enough to opine pro or con, but if there is any benefit, I think it makes sense to look into the possibility of synthetic (e.g. Arm & Hammer) baking soda being toxic.

If your body is too acidic it's called acidosis and if it's too alkaline it's called alkalosis.
If your PH is too acidic you can get symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, headaches, anxiety, muscle weakness, bone pain, joint pain etc.
If your PH is too alkaline you can get symptoms like muscle twitches, allergies, muscle spasms, muscle cramps, muscle weakness, dehydration, muscle pain, difficulty breathing etc.
The best thing you can do about this? Just stop doing it for a little while then reintroduce it again if you want to continue doing it. If you are doing it for like acid reflux then you're better off going the home made kefir route, since acid reflux is a cytokine injury and kefir fixes that. Siim Land is a good channel for natural health. on the dryfasting.com website gaven goes into a lot of science on his page about how to use dry fasting to heal various diseases and losing weight. Snake Diet on youtube is fun to watch if you have weight to lose, he pushes fasting with his "snake juice" which is nothing more than salt water (which includes baking soda). Anyways just my 2c

Try some Zinc (take it with food bc it can irritate the stomach) to give your immune system some ammo and some ashwaganda and maca to keep your cortisol low naturally. You will keep systemic inflammation in check pretty well this way. If you’re adventurous then try a niacin flush in a sauna hahahaha

Go straight carnivore. I’ve tried what you are doing and it does not work. I had the alkaline water filter, ate alkaline foods. No good. My dad tried carnivore at 75 and improved all his blood markers even his testosterone at 75 improved, he got off most his meds like statins and blood pressure meds. Sleep quality improved immensely, stopped snoring. His weight went from 275 to a low of 184 and now is at 205 constantly.
Going carnivore was the best thing I ever did for my body bar none. I have seen such positive changes and quickly too.
Apple Cider Vinegar with the "mother" ( unfiltered). Tastes almost as bad as seeing one of Hunter Biden's scarf pics but well worth the health benefits. Helps balance pH!
Sometimes it's easy. Don't "ask your doctor." Do what's worked for centuries but been pooh poohed by big pharma.

IIRC baking soda to alkalize the system can also help with other issues, particularly the buildups that cause 'stones' or deposits within the system. Not using the sugars with this method would likely be desirable.

Don't mess with your acid-base balance. Your kidneys are perfectly capable of doing this. Along with your lungs. You'll screw yerslf up.

It reminded me of alka seltzer, made me fall asleep fast.
Baking soda neutralizes acid therefore raising the ph in your body. There are lots of reports on the net regarding cancer not being able to live in a high ph environment. I think it is also rumored to stave off viruses and bacteria if I remember correctly.
The discovery that cancer can't survive in an alkaline environment won the nobel prize for medicine in 1931.
Probably did that to combat stomach acid at night, not know the other benefits. I’ve done it many times.

Yep, its a heaven sent for my gout. Couldnt bring my uric acid level down no matter what I did, to the point where I couldnt eat anything.
Started drinking 1/4 tsp of bakind soda in a cup of water, once in morning and once in night. Cant eat anything else within 1 hour (before and after) this.
Boom, the difference was huge. And the blood test confirmed it.
Word of caution -if you do this too much you might start feeling muscle aches and pains. It means your pH is too high. Then you have to back off.
Don't forget about Borax. I am personally having less joint pain.

I feel that it is possible to overdo it. My body is very good at notifying me when it is “off.” It is at that time when I consume a tablespoon of soda for a day or two. Otherwise- it’s business as usual.
Interesting. I may move to that approach. What is off for you? I have this thing where once every two month it feels like my immune system is overloaded and I have all of these weird symptoms for a week. Like breakouts all over my body, fatigue, fogginess, and others
Kind of sounds like you're detoxing from something. Which is good. Our bodies know what to do. I think I got conditioned to believe that every symptom needs to be corrected. I'm trying to learn to be comfortable and confident in my unvaxxed, healthy body. Within reason. I hope this makes sense.
Also, a smidge of baking soda in beans takes away bean digestion issues - just remember to adjust for salt.
One more thing - a lot of baking soda has toxins in the way it's processed, so if you can, try to find some Bobs Red Mill baking soda.

For about a week now I was averaging a teaspoon in the morning and one at night. BUT…. I’d also put 1/3 of a teaspoon in my coffee to neutralize it.

Blood pH test strips are inexpensive, I hear, so I would suggest checking where you are, pH wise, daily - especially when you're not feeling quite right.

Another option is borax solution. Imo recommended doses on the internet tend to be too high. Start low and find a spot that your body agrees with.
ok read thru all the comments. Some sauce about the difference between A & H and bob's red mill would have been nice. I know that, with cases like this it's hard to come by. I couldn't find anything different between the two. PPIs like prilosec are bone weakening. (no sauce!) just can't imagine consuming something for years would be good for one's body. Avoidance seems to be a good idea. Not to eat too much at one sitting. Also definitely rest after meals. No swimming! And that is medical fact. And avoid certain foods, peppermint, chocolate, alcohol, citrus, spicy and greasy food (that includes too much cheese) and TOMatoes. Chew lots of gum (no mint) and if you feel the acid boiling up start swallowing, saliva is neutral and works for ME.
I have used baking soda before, when my kidneys were infected, and the urine stung, on order of the doctor. However, I wouldn't on the regular, not if I wasn't sick in my kidneys, which is very rare these days - more about that in a second. Baking Soda tends to make one excessively thirsty, and then one is likely to drink the wrong stuff, like soda.
If you are feeling down, as in depressed, it is better to take a glass of water with up to half a teaspoon of pink salt in it - a fat pinch will do. Maybe a squeeze of lime or lemon, but that is optional. One of the first symptoms of salt deficiency is depression and a feeling like one is dragging oneself around, the next is dizziness, and the next a propensity to faint.
Salt water is also a cure for acid reflux, which most people mistake for being 'too acid', when they reach for the baking soda. What is happening is a low chloride situation, NOT a carbonate deficiency, whereby your stomach does not have enough hydrochloric acid to digest stuff, and food starts fermenting and bubbling like a science experiment.
I found this out by myself when I believed that baking soda would cure acid reflux: baking soda caused me to have night cramps in my legs that was extremely frightening - signs of a mineral deficiency. Use baking soda to clean your teeth, or to bathe in. Not to ingest all the time, because it will destroy your ability to digest anything, leaving you starved and thirsty, and likely to stuff more food in than necessary, but then you will get indigestion. The excessive liquids will strip minerals from one's system - a vicious circle.
TOO MUCH SALT is a lie. Please do your research, and look at what academics are saying NOT what blogs are saying - most of those are still spouting the lo-salt nonsense, and pushing potassium salts as an alternative. - and too much potassium is actually dangerous. Such a lie - the salt demonization was aimed at making the pharma industry rich, through antacids for example, and antidepressants. Sodium Chloride is the most prevalent mineral compound in the blood - It was once more precious than gold. Just think of animals licking a salt block: they know what is good for them. You sweat it out, hence salt tablets that are prescribed in the tropics. Unless you have a rare disorder whereby salt causes an allergic reaction, take salt to taste, or if you are feeling down, or if you are suffering acid reflux. No need to force yourself, listen to your body, you will know if you had too much, because you will be thirsty for hours afterwards. One little salt drink won't do this. Salt overdosing is usually not a problem - Westerners are more likely to have too little salt in their diet because of the prolonged brainwashing.
Please cut out the Baking Soda. Oh and the acid/alkaline debate is also a lie. Believe me I went down that route, and found that it is a way to stop us eating meat and start eating potatoes or "whole" grains or something. Great if you WANT to be a vegan - but not great if you want to be healthy.
Re: the arthriticky joints: Seriously try keto or carnivore. I did and it cured the joints, after many years of suffering. Too many carbs are the main reason for sore joints - oh and high blood sugar, which can lead to heart attacks and water retention. Quite the opposite to what we were told:
