You can listen to the oral arguments.

Thank you for the live link.
Is this the big who gets to make election law case?
This is the big one, yes. And liberals are freaking out because if Moore wins, then state legislatures’ power is affirmed by the Supreme Court, which opens the door to reducing federal powers back to what the Constitution mandates.
Whoa! Does that mean we might, in the near future, have a Constitutional Republic instead of a dictatorship? :)
YES! It would allow states to appoint whoever they think actually won the election irregardless of what fake votes the dems conjured up. It basically kills the entire voter fraud thing right off the bat, takes all the power away from the ballots and gives it to the state government. Never again will we have to listen to fake ballots, it will fix almost all of the voter fraud.
However, states run by democrat legislatures will pass laws to favor the Dems. It is important to have republican state control of as many of the state legislatures as possible.
"Republican" would have to mean much more than it means presently, i.e., not as much of the rino, traitor filled, half of the uniparty and more of a conservative party.
💯%
Most of the 2020 battleground states had republican controlled state legislatures. Those state legislatures had Plenary Power over federal elections in their states and they did exactly nothing with that power to reflect the will of the people they represent.
In many ways, RINOs are worse than Dems because those who elect these "conservatives" expect those representatives to represent their values and beliefs, and when these RINOs are in office, they do nothing but support the commie dems and the uniparty agenda.
Most of us are wide awake to this, but a large number of conservative voters actually think we have a two party system of Dems vs Reps.
The truth is, we have a two party system but it is...
Us vs Them.
You know the truth is, I expect all legislators to act in the best interest of the State they were elected in--not their own interest, or the interest of select groups of people. Get back to making all states livable and not some states tyrannical while others are free (at least as free as the Constitution allows). I do however, understand what your point is.

NonRINO control of state legislatures, to be more specific. We really need to concentrate much more on state government.
thanks! will we know the ruling by tonight?
It will be a couple of weeks/months they are hearing arguments today.
Moore? Like Moore County, NC, which had it's power taken out?
Tim Moore, Speaker of the NC House
Right. So, comms?
Huh, hadn’t caught that connection. Yep, I agree - comms of some sort
very well-written question
This is a tough one, because on one hand, you want reasonably Constitutional states like Florida to be able to control their own elections, but then don't want leftist states like NY to change laws so that a Republican could NEVER be elected.
I have no faith in these hacks but hopefully they prove me wrong.
No... they've been told
Call me a doomer if you want, but people are getting entirely too excited over this. It ultimately doesn't matter, because:
If the federal government wins, the deepstate will simple target the federal government. If the states win, the deepstate will just target the states more. And at the end of the day, they're both targeted regardless.
The effect will ultimately be the same. The system doesn't matter. Just the people running it.
Well it’s not a question of if the federal government or state government wins. It’s a question over whether a state’s supreme court (judicial branch) can change election rules on the fly contrary to what the state legislatures have written. The Constitution is very clear that the state legislature gets to make the rules for their own elections—both local and national. It’s what the state supreme courts did in 2020 that’s in question here.
It’s way harder to control 50 state legislatures than 1 state court or 1 federal government.
The gotcha is whether the Supreme Court is compromised yet.
Either federal elections have federal rules or the cheat is on. The key here is to punish corruption with death.
It should already be a resounding no. But those British noble bastards don't give a flying fuck about our Constitution or any Natural Rights.
Although Wikipedia is left-leaning, it provides some useful background and links, and has already has a summary of today: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moore_v._Harper
Moore's case is based on the Independent State Legislature (ISL) theory derived from the Article I Election Clause and is argued nicely by David Thompson. ISL solidifies authority of the state legislatures to conduct elections but appears vulnerable to arguments circa gerrymandering and substance vs procedure.
A full written transcript of today's arguments is available at https://www.supremecourt.gov/oral_arguments/audio/2022/21-1271 . The questions from each justice are interesting and revealing.
Thanks!
QUESTION PRESENTED: Who do these states think they are, using the power granted to them by the constitution?! REEEEE
Thanks horseyPatriot for highlighting this important case. What do you think of the 2020 dueling electors implications if the Supremes find for the States legislatures? Anything to it in your opinion?
So I am an engineer who is just learning her way around these Supreme Court cases. Work caused me to miss much of the oral arguments today 🥲
Others familiar with the law can weigh in, but I think this case will be specific to the rights of the legislators in making the NC electoral map. But that it will set precedent for states Constitutions and the legislators roles in following the State constitutions for other cases.
I was sooo impressed with the little I heard from the lawyer representing Moore. Just wow! His recall on Federalist papers. It was also great to hear Clarence Thomas.
@SharonSaysSo will be doing a live Instagram on the case at 9:00 pm. She will be on the liberal side and be afraid that our country will break apart if she perceives the justices to side with Moore, but she listened to all 3 hours, knows the justices and law well, and will provide a great summary, I’m sure. But please be nice to her. She is super smart and is playing a role in this plan I think - to help teach those who know nothing about our government and to help them learn to stop the vitriolic comments on social media and to get up and do something to fix our country. Just a hunch I have after watching her in action for over a year now…
