Don't forget he waived his Presidential Salary. A modest gesture.

It's a drop in the bucket, and Obama was all about that shit. Trump knew he could take it...and Obama did too, since he had his racket going on in the sidelines. 10% for the big guy likely meant some kicked Obama's way directly too. Biden was not the only one to benefit in that relationship.

Geez! He lost $32.4 million in 2015 and still had to pay $642,931 in taxes. That is salt in the wound!

Good point. Either way, not only did he lose a shit ton in 2015 but he had to pay taxes on 2014 income on top of it.

You can bet the IRS are investigating people like Trump with a microscope.

Thus, his taxes are squeaky clean to the letter of the relevant tax laws.

There is legal creative accounting and then there is tax Fraud.

Trump would be beyond squeaky clean or you would know about by now after the ongoing, constant investigations.

Next Chess Move.....Investigate Obama's taxes, Biden's taxes, Pelosi's, Shiff's, McConnels's, Ryan's, Cheney's, etc. The list is long. If they can do this to Trump. They have set a precedent. This will be fun.

I hope Trump takes these tax returns, makes copies of them, and then shoves them up the asses of everyone who made a big deal of it when they all stand trial for treason. He can start with that smug fuck at CNN, his name escapes me at the moment, who used to host the morning show with that Breana Keilar.

Isn't it amazing how they love to stand tall and tell all about how bad Trump was? Then you come back with this stuff, and all they are worried about is hanging their heads down, and quietly picking the lint off of their shirts. Interesting, isn't it?

Nice. One of my sheeple relatives who has been whining for years about Trump not releasing his tax records (and who wants Trump arrested soooo bad) is going to have to spin this. My guess is the normies will say that Trump had all this time to change his tax records, so the records don’t mean anything anymore. I outwardly laugh nowadays when I hear sheeple try to justify what they “know to be fact”.

Don’t think for one minute if Trump “changed his taxes” the IRS, Southern District of NY, and Congress wouldn’t have detected it and acted on it. He knew he had to be squeaky clean within the letters of the law. That is more than we can say for a Congress and former Presidents. Audit everyone in government office, and ban anyone who has done anything illegal from holding government office ever again, because that makes them prone to blackmail. For all the responsibility a President has, his salary should be higher. Based on job performance, vote of the people (once we have elections secure, start the President’s salary off at $500,000 and increase yearly by $250,000 increments. That goes for a 2nd term in office. Congress votes their own pay increases, I say that the voters in the state they represent should vote based on their representative following the will of the people: clean bills, fiscal responsibility, voting as the majority in each state wants. It is complicated, but this is the only way Congress will realize they work for us. Make it easier to remove from office by special election.

So far all I'm hearing from idiots is that he presented himself as one who doesn't have years of losses. He had presented himself as a winner not a loser and they are big mad he's not honest about it. I guess? It's something no serious person cares about, I know that. 🙄

However, it is pretty sad, that he paid $750 in taxes in 2016 and 2017 while I as a middle class occasional worker as a retiree, paid several thousand because I cashed it a portion of my IRA. This shows you can be a millionaire or billionaire and because of the laws favoring businesses, the upperclass wins.

permalink save report block reply
▲ 3 ▼
– HardWorkinPatriot 3 points 3 years ago +3 / -0

You do realize, that he paid $750 because he lost $30+ million. He did not make money that year. Taxes are for when you make money.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– 4Hope70 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

Yes I do realize that, but consider what the lower and middle income workers make and how they are taxed. There is a disconnect. Just because he is a businessman and can write off losses of business makes his income lower. Consider the taxes we pay out: Federal, state, SS, sales tax, gas tax, real estate tax, etc . We are being taxed on money already taxed on a smaller income.

I’m confused - why so many losses of money? $750 in income tax? I paid 25k last year. What does this mean I don’t get what this tells us, but I’ll be honest I don’t like the way it looks. That’s my knee-jerk reaction though so take it with a grain of salt. But I kind of got angry when I saw that.

(1) Those who own a lot of real estate often have losses for tax purposes due to depreciation.

(2) Although it varies from one year to the next, sometimes the "Alternative Minimum Tax" can create a tax that otherwise would be less or zero.

because when you have losses you dont pay taxes on what you've lost, and sometimes you've lost so much it can carry over for the next year or two. If you lost 20k last year would you pay taxes on that?

The question should be why should a politician Ieave richer? If ppI gain riches from politics, is it from the saIary? If it's from anywhere else, that's a ConfIict of lnterest. It means the decisions they make are not made with their constituents iin mind. Meaning, they are disenfranchising their voters and their voters' rights.

They're supposed to be public servants, not PRlVATE servants. So the question now is whose? Only an AUDlT can say. And now that they've set the precedent to check a PRlVATE ClTlZEN'S records, let's see what these servants don't want us to see.

It's annoying that so many people have no clue about legal tax strategies that are built into the tax law. An example is real estate depreciation. Ignorant people are fooled by the misleading media and politicians.
